The answers I didn't know I needed but glad I have.
Nice comparison | contrast, Barry, as always.
Always enjoying structure 💪
A fascinating video that I didn't know I needed to watch but am glad I did! Thanks Barry! I have both and use them for two totally different things, I actually love them both too!
The great thing about running in the Streakfly is that I never have to think about it. I just run along...eagerly awaiting testing the next version...
GO Alphafly 💨💨💨
Go Bartek!
Hey Barry did you see yesterday Kenya announced their Olympic marathon squad ???
I did. One part of me thinks 3 is a very small number for such talent and another thinks if there are more countries can use runners as tactical pacemakers...Either way I can imagine the selection would be very difficult. Hellen Obiri would be my pick on the women's side. Still saddened by the loss of Kelvin Kiptum. Quite apart from being the World Record Holder, his ability to negative split to perfection would mean the race would be much more tactical, with runners having to go out hard and try and take the sting out of him. Will be keenly watching whatever happens...
I took the streakfly and the adidas takumi Sen to the track, while I enjoyed the streakfly and definitely think it is much better suited to the track the takumi still performed better.
Looking at the leaks of the streakfly 2,it does seem to be a stripped down vaporfly, but if that's the case why not just use the vaporfly.
I think the Takumi Sen's had the Adidas rods and the Streakfly does not have a plate. Definitely going to get a Streakfly 2 and test in more detail. The Vaporfly is still heavier than the Asics Metaspeed Paris shoes, so some paring down to do...
@@OldManRunner Yes, but they are both marketed as a 5k/10k shoe and I think the Sen is a better 5k shoe. Apparently there is a shank for stability in the streakfly, not that I have noticed. I like these "Shoe off" videos you are doing, hopefully we'll see a few more :)
Glad you enjoy the show offs...I kind of like doing them and am trying to get better at them. I have another on the way. I have done the running parts but have a bit of analysis to do...maybe not for next week, but if not the week after....
@@al_conroy Several elite atheletes won HMs in Takumi Sen 9 and towards the beginning of the year someone won a marathon in JP in Takumi Sen. At 33mm Takumi Sen has more stack that racing flats of earlier generation.
Off topic for this video but there is a new shoe brand you might be interested in: "Ulysses" Waya URC 1 neutral shoe and Maikoh trail shoe ... I just got an email from a retailer advertising them.
Never heard of them before...but had a look and they look interesting...Thanks for the heads up!
Hi Thanks for video - liked to order alphafly 3 shoe. Have now the Nike Next % 2 in size 11. And then have also the streakfly in size 10.5. The streakfly in 11 was to big so went with 10.5 and fits good. Thinking to order the alphafly 3 in 10.5. How are your sizes for 2 shoes - same or different? Hearing the alphafly is slipper like so maybe good. I find many nike when lace down they get a lot of bunching of top material. Thanks any help for me with sizing.
I always buy the same size in shoes. I think I have a wide foot and am more sensitive to with than length. The Alphafly 3 is tight around the ankle and takes some wriggling to get into. Once on it is great. Funnily enough the Streakfly is the easiest shoe I’ve ever tried to put on…
@@OldManRunner thanks for fast reply back. Too reading that moving up in only 1/2 size can add much more weight than one really thinks about. So for fast times much better in the smaller size. Common sense but sometimes i forgot this so overlook this in sizing.
