On behalf of my husband Nathaniel and myself, I just wanted to thank everyone who has followed this trial and commented. At first, we were very scared that this trial would be live streamed, but it has helped us get through it. So thank you for all the support for Dan’s family.. all the prayers and wishes. We truly appreciate it!

maam, our heartfelt condolences to your entire family...we all watched and followed this case from day 1.... she is a diabolical woman who fooled everyone for decades, as Nathaniel mentioned.. his impact statement was dynamic and brought me to tears...Chef Dan was a tremendous example of a man who loved the community and had so much to give.. through this trial, although I did not personally know him, but I think we all feel like we did..A fine man to behold...All your lives must go on, minus one, but Dan will always live in your hearts.....and remember. They got her...Warm wishes to all of you..

People like Nancy go after the most empathetic and loving people because they will be the only ones that can forgive their evil and still see good in them. I say this to point out that Dan had to have been an incredible person. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope there is at least some comfort in knowing that she did not win and will die in prison. Then she's going over what she does, going for coffee, going back to bed, dangerously driving around aimlessly while she writes in a notebook, lunch with friends, etc. Im thinking This is a woman who has ruined them financially and she has all that free time bc shes obviously a lazy manipulative taker. Nancy won't be haunted by the image of Dan dead after she killed him.
Narcs have zero emotion..there's nothing there.
They are cold, calculating people who are monsters on the inside and master manipulators on the outside. What you see is the complete opposite of how they feel deep down inside.
They are "master" manipulators because they are experts on manipulation.
They can fool anyone. They are untreatable by professionals because they can fool them as well.
Nate said it best that evil people are amongst us.
I believe that trials like this is the perfect platform for the world to witness narcissists..unless you have encountered one, hang on to your boots straps and settle in for the show of your life.
Narcissist are great actors and change like chameleons to whatever benefits them.
They are capable as we saw here in this trial of anything including murder and for no reason, mostly to benefit themselves in some way.
They prey on vunerable, forgiving people that they know they can con, easily manipulate and control, while undermining your forgiving and easy going nature.
They are poor excuses for human beings and literally wolves in sheep's clothing.
On another note, I as well as others question Nancy's sentence for 2nd degree murder.
Was 1st degree verdict off the table before deliberations? Maybe the prosecution didn't prove premeditated, and this is why 2nd degree was the verdict?
It's safe to say that Nancy will die in prison..She'll be in her late 90s when she's eligible for parole. Although I wish nothing good for this monster, I hope she lives a long time living in a cage for the rest of her miserable life.
Her and her big, long winded mouth, I hope she goes nuts talking to her cell walls. I'm sure she'll find someone in prison who will fall prey to her manipulative ways.
Or she'll drive inmates crazy talking all the time.
My condolences to Nate and the entire Brody family for the loss of a great man who we all grew to know and admire.
I hope you all find peace in your hearts some day.

My heart goes out to the Brophy family, but also to those other witnesses whose lives Nancy chose to damage and destroy: Dan's colleagues, fellow teachers, Woody, Brian, the young woman police officer who gave up some street cred to hug Nancy and was clearly affected herself, the students who were there that day, the student who called 911, the students who were in the kitchen,....
Above all, the marvelous Ms. Perez who walked into horror and did what she had to do, with caring and skill, only to be villain-ized by Nancy. I am so glad Dan had her to be there; that was love.

Very well-said & empathetic. The experience of giving CPR to a respected, widely beloved teacher and breaking his ribs would be incredibly traumatic, and Ms. Perez did it anyway in the faint hope of saving Chef Brophy’s life. No wonder Nancy was so contemptuous of her; Clorinda Perez is the antithesis of a pointless narcissist like Nancy herself.

9:34 "Payroll and tax fraud that you waged on your employees....." Per Nathaniel; one of his first statements.
We had hints in our discussion that Nancy must have had a life of fraud or other crime-ing-remember the "arson" fire, insurance clawbacks, filing false tax returns, and, indeed calling herself married to Dan and taking the Brophy name-but this one was not something I saw discussed here! I know we in the comments had wondered why Nancy had no supporters, and I suppose this is the reason: she ripped them all off when they were her employees.
The State also let drop that Nancy was committing crimes behind bars. They mentioned it during a bond hearing in 2020 when Nancy said she should be released because she was almost certainly gonna die of COVID. But the evidence for these crimes went under seal. I wish it was now unsealed!

Maybe Nancy wrote it? And forged Dan's signature? And then hid it in Dan's garage? This makes way more sense to me, especially if Dan left everything to Nancy or even left her things that were previously promised to Nathaniel.
