I used to do something similar with the double-barrel shotgun. Magnum buck, get in close, aim for the legs, fire both barrels. I generally didn't even bother with armor, so if someone did kill me, all they were getting was one of the cheapest guns in the game and a round nobody uses anymore because it doesn't magically penetrate all armor.
I was also a prolific rat, so I generally died with enough loot in my safe container to pay for medical and a replacement kit.
I still rock double barrel shotguns in dorms

I remember when they added the mp-18 I had this loadout where you run it with a pilad 4x and then bring a relover shotguns for the ultimate "no ones taking this shit" loadout
when the revolvers came out i used the .358 revolver as a secondary with the mp-18.

My favourite thing about the MP-18 is that it's classified as a shotgun so you can use is for most of the stupid quests that requires one without no specific caliber.
Also counts as a bolt action, used it for the factory PMC kills

Not even joking, I played the majority of a wipe using this rifle near exclusively and had a total blast. Best raid from that wipe was me pulling off some guerilla warfare near dorms on Customs, had this 2-man mag dumping every bush in sight because I would shoot one of them, run off to reload/heal, and then go track them down again and restart the cycle. Ended up killing both of them with the help of an AI scav after about five minutes and they had to be so confused and/or overwhelmed, it was priceless. The only downside is that I did this before you could inspect profiles and whatnot, so I'm assuming most people thought I killed them with a mosin, which is a shame.

People refusing to push is one of my biggest gripes in tarkov, they can have every single advantage in the world and they will sit in a corner and not push for 40 minutes wasting everyone's time. I can literally be out of ammo in a wide open room and they wont just push me and get it over with and I cant push them because they run away if I do and just shoot me in the back. Definitely one of the most frustrating things of the game.
Holding an angle is the biggest advantage of them all though… doesn’t matter what gun you’re using if you can hit your shots.

It's a failure of tarkov's game design. People don't push because there's literally no reason to, other than boredom.

when the netcode had more peekers advantage, more player speed, and faster nading was available, and no boat movement to randomly stop your push, people would actually push because it was advantageous. Now people won’t push because it’s extremely disadvantageous with audio, netcode, weapon sway, inertia, and netcode favoring the person sitting still and waiting in a room being basically unkillable (pulling a nade to flush them is instant death if you’re not very far away due to audio and taking 7-8 seconds, not to mention how slow it is to put the nade away if they rush you on the sound cue. It’s a rats world and PvP isnt fun anymore.
I bought the game about two years ago. One of my very first scav raids I had an MP18. I went into Alamo because I heard scavs and heard lots of gunshots. Some super mega chad had been running around Alamo killing PMCs, player scavs, and AI scavs. I went in to try to loot a body and get a gun, but he heard me and started coming for me. I heard him around the corner and he peaked while unloading his magazine blindly. I shot him in the face in less than a second from down the hallway. Still one of my proudest moments in Tarkov, and it was with an MP18 as a scav no less.

that's the ultimate gear fear or self preservation instinct kicking in when a gigachad with uber meta kit wont push a guy who has a boomstick with a rate of fire on par with a main battle tank. I get that, some people are really just campers by nature, maybe they tussled too much with goons, maybe they are just cowards.
Then there are a few people who, despite the fact that they know they are turbosweats and would love to settle a brick on their W key and push you, they know better. They are not going to take the diceroll between the chances of you being a complete noob, or straight out grade A badass, so they opt not to mess with you. Kinda like why you never mess with an Asian person, cos there is always that small chance that they know Kung fu, and they are going to fold you like a t-shirt.
I think someone using a meta kit disqualifies them for being called 'gigachad'

Im the second, minus turbo sweat. I dont play this game *specifically*, but i usually dont push, because i figure if someone is waiting for me, im at a disadvantage.
And i dont have the skill to handle a fair situation, let alone an unfair one lol
@@crispy7499 Think you're still way better than me to be honest. I'm very far from casual gamer, but I really never play any PvP games. I'm not mechanically good in general, but I love games with lots of depth, where most of the "skill" comes in the form of knowledge rather than reflexes and mind games. So, I opt to play nothing but PvE Tarkov.
But as far as PvE is considered, I like to take thing slow and steady, try to pick my fights in a way I can beat bots without an issue, and I know overtime I will instinctively learn their behavior better, like how they move, how far and easily they will spot me, and all such things, and I think in time I will be able to play the game like a turbosweat as well. It's very similar process as getting good in something like Dark souls, where when you know the enemy and you know yourself, need not fear the result of a hundred battles.

My favourite loadouts are the meme ones, personal favourite is the Cowboy. Nothing but revolvers but make sure to have a sheriff badge and pack of Malboro reds in the pocket.
i played like this last wipe for a while to get myself comfortable pushing with a low cost kit that can one tap heads. sometimes it was good, it was also hard to live to follow up a second shot if you missed

One of my favorite backup weapons, as soon as I get shooter born I rock this as a secondary and pull it out when I think the stars are aligned. Works like a charm, cheap to insure, and people won't take it.
once i was a scav, with just a pistol and no ammo, when i looted an mp18 with one shot. i proceeded to one tap a juiced pmc and escape with his loot

Loved this gun when i used to play, used the plastic handguard and stock for the bit of extra ergo and that super cheap red dot jager sold. always got it back in insurance to use next time lol
The most fun I ever had in tarkov was when you could craft .366 ap pretty early-mid wipe. running around with that in a vpo-215 and a couple extra mags with a red dot on top. meta guns could never compare
In my first wipe, I had big timmy energy. I had the gear fear real bad so I brought a TOZ in most of my raids. In like my 3rd PMC raid, I dropped in with a Chad who was showing me the ropes on Customs. My mentor got domed by a couple of kitted Chads, I started blasting into the bushes with my Toz and killed both of them. It was more luck than skill, but it still felt pretty good, and other players no longer seemed like immortal demigods. Their gear was nice and yummy, but the real gain was the confidence boost that led to me graduating from the Toz to the Kedr, although I still kept that specific Toz around as a good luck charm.
Ever since the MP18 released, i been raiding with 2 of em on my PMC, it's such fun runs, expecially when you manage to fight a group and win.
TO be ultra sweaty, when you fire the first gun and switch to the second, the first one can be reloaded from the inventory with a quick drag of the round on the gun.

i have done SBiH in a single raid with the MP-18 in lighthouse back when it was only 100m headshots.
I was running along the coast near the lighthouse when i come across two players going to farm the boss, i one tap one of them and later the second guy when he peeked to scan for me. when i was running towards them i start to get shot from the rocks and somehow he whiffed all his shots, i managed to connect a headshot at that distance. i hate the fact i ididn't recorded that.
when i run with a SMG i always run with a MP-18 with a Pilad or the Trilux, good old emergency long gun

i have been having SO MUCH FUN, with the makarov pm pistol either in stock form or with a big fat 83 round drum mag, ive won so many fire fight exchanges with guys using MUCH bigger guns than me. simply because that fawking pistol pulls so fast, you can hip fire it for days, it always has another round to fire and for some reason if you are within 25 yrds. that thing just always nails em in the face.

The dudes I play with understand that sometimes, yes, I can play super chad with them. But there's times, those dark, dark times, when I need to feel the thrill. The thrill of knowing I'm using subpar kit against enemies. Paca, GGsh's, Cowboy hat, .357 and the Mp18. I'm here for a yeehaw time

Try either sawed off or regular double barrel shotgun with Flechette's set to double tap and you got a BIG 0-10m boom stick that will 100% fuck someone up. Fun as hell to use too. (also cheap)
Sniping with the toz is my fav pastime, same with sprawling people out with the DB.
@Leviticus what can be more advantegous to oneself than letting the enemy who has a single shot weapon push you? On the other hand, if I decide to push, i could much easier get into the situation that I just run into your crosshair. What are they gaining from pushing you; 1. You have nothing valuable on you 2. letting you push means that there is a higher chance for you to miss
And yet you wouldn't know the value of the gear off the 2 seconds you see him before he fires and scurries back to cover. So point 1 is invalidated.
Point 2 is somewhat true but comes with the problem that the exact moment you surrender the initiative and stop probing and sit still in any setting that isn't 1 or 2 easily covered death corridors you put yourself at a disadvantage. He can maneuver and probe you and all it takes is one fucky audio bug or loss of focus and suddenly its the head ears Hideout express.
That also not to mention the presence of others on factory who are 98% there for guranteed PvP which means the few exchanged shots can draw the whole map over which puts the guys holding still in a worse position. There is a time to rat and a time to act, and on factory you either disengage and say fuck this or full commit to end it quick.
ALSO unless you are a faux chad or someone who put an UNGODLY amount of hours into Tarkov you wouldn't know the sound of an MP-18 because even among scavs it is rare.

The mp18 is my favorite budget gun, slow to reload but hard hitting. I've got a lot of great kits out of only taking one of those and 20 rounds into raid lol

I have an MP18 in real life of course it's not called that but mine is chambered in 308 which is amazing for deer hunting it's light weight and accuracy with a scope is so nice and i enjoy having it in the woods. Just cool to see it in video games.
The BB gun has always been my go to early/mid wipe, its cheap and very effective.

When it first got added to the game me and a buddy managed to wipe an entire 5 man with strictly mp18's. Nothing has ever compared to that feeling. And it's wildly accurate. Iron sights are solid imo

The mp-18 is one of my loadouts at mid wipe, but my favorite weapons are still being the hunter, the adar and the ak-74n (this was the first weapon I used since playing tarkov for the first time, so I'm pretty in love with this "bad weapon")
I haven't gotten to play much of PVP tarkov but this gave me a idea.. be kinda funnier if the mp-18 could get a suppressor. Or if we can saw the stock off and barrel to make a true garbage blaster
