Is it just me that finds the attention to detail in evasion (the searching, perfectly demonstrated by the guards in this video) amazing? You just don't get this in video games anymore and this is literally on a ps2...
Agree'd. Games like this are a lost art now. It's not just the alert phases but great detail overall. Even the smallest details like catching a cold or various reactions soldiers have when you're disguised as one of them. "You! What are you doing? Where is your weapon? Where did that blood come from?'"
In the MGS2 Documentary you can see they actually hired some special forces experts and learned all of this
@@NicoSleepyLeen That's why it sounds so bad ass! No other MGS had si bad ass radio communication lines. Specially the major or whatever the guy giving orders is supposed to be.

@@FoxyChariot Truly he did. Guy was an artist. I know many people hate when fans ride him all the time, but the dude really made some phenomenal games. I remember being completely blown away by guards clearing rooms as a kid back then and thought to myself how cool games would look in 10+ years. And now we're here, and they are just releasing one sad money grab after the next without soul. Its sad.

This is so cool. I remember back then when I was a kid, struggling a lot in the tanker. It literally took me weeks to discover that I had to shoot the SEMTEX to pass that level. (I didn't know English back then so I merely discovered by luck and same for the rest of the game).
I think you mean the control units. Shooting the SEMTEX is an automatic game over.
