    I felt so lost and was dreading calling my old provider to swap after some horror stories my friends have told me. This is also the first time I have ever doe this for myself. You have completely calmed my nerves about the process and I am confident with what I need to do now. Thank you so much!

      That's so great to hear, thanks for the very kind comment Maia. Good luck with the move - everything is fixable. I'm putting off calling my broadband provider to get the monthly charge down for about 10 months now so know exactly how you feel.
      It'll be ace! Enjoy the journey!!

      I'm here in March 2024 so things may have changed but, just wondering how did your switch go?
      I'm wanting to switch mine and it's exactly the same for me too! Had no idea how to do it and what the actual process was.
      Just found this great video! Explained in clear and simple instructions and answered all the questions I had. Just subscribed and going to watch the video a couple more times just to memorise the process.
      Oh, just one question That number to text for a PAC applies to any network I assume?

    • @vicky20237
      @vicky20237 Před 2 měsíci

      @@kathydoyle1857 i'm about to do it (have done many times before though), the process is the same. i think the number applies to all, your new provider should show you the number to text.

    Absolutely Fabulous!! Many thanks, Daddie. Yesterday I spent ages on the phone trying to get in touch with O2 to get the PAC code. F*cking impossible. I could NOT get through to talk to someone or any other means to get the code. And, hey presto, I came across your excellent video. Texted O2 and got the code in about 20 seconds!! keep up the excellent work, man!!👍👍👍👍👍👍!!

      Thanks for the v kind message, really pleased to hear it. O2 drove us nuts with marketing phonecalls. I tweeted personally to the chief exec of O2's owners Telefonica in Spain every time they tried calling, which went into double digits.
      Really glad you managed to leave without having to talk to the oafs! Makes this worthwhile, thanks again Ian

      Thanks to you both here. I'm here in March 2024. I'm with O2, and want to switch. They've been ripping me off for years. On a contract for 20GB a month. At the time the assistant said it was more than enough for anyone. I watch CZcams a lot for news etc. Gradually I was getting less and less usage where my data now running out on about the same date each month get my allowance on the 5th runs out on 20th leaving me 10 days without data so I have to top up.
      Went to top up this week only to find that they had changed the quick and simple system, to not being able to top up. Ended up having to ring a number and was on hold 30 mins landline. Then uses my mobile few mins got a call centre and a foreign voice. I'm hearing impaired and she almost signed me up to 12 months top ups but got her to change it to just for this month!
      Got to get away from them now it's costing me a fortune!
      So thanks for confirming O2 are crap. Thought it was just me and my luck!

    If you have already used this PAC code and submitted it when purchasing a handset or SIM, don't worry - your switch is underway. We'll send you a text as soon as your number has been transferred to us."

      Are you getting the message randomly?
      Or did you request a PAC?
      Either way I would contact your mobile network because it sounds like someone typed in the wrong PAC code and it's linked to your number or if you requested it that they don't have the same date of birth.
      Fingers crossed and hope you get this sorted, thanks.

    Great video, very professional. I know which network that is and it is very consumer friendly when it comes to that network to that network, but I've found better value with a network called VOXI which not only provides more data on the cheaper options but doesn't throttle the speeds after a certain usage and with a tenner you get unlimited social media usage (Snapchat, messenger, WhatsApp etc) without touching your data and with 15 you get that plus more data plus unlimited usage of services such as CZcams or Netflix without touching your data. Seems like a no brainer for me

I want to use that number and be able to buy a new sim which will come with a new number and then transfer the original number to new sim card. Also with that i am unable to text for a pac code. I am unsure what to do. Is it still possible to do without your original sim?

      @vicky20237 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @DADDELIVERS  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi thanks for the kind question
      I think you'll have to call your current provider for a sim card.

      Good luck, hope it works out well

    Hi there, was wondering if u knew whether requesting the PAC code automatically cancels the contract u want to leave?

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Harry
      Thanks for the kind question -- I'm not an expert, and this might not answer your question, but if you are 'out of contract' - so it's just a rolling pay monthly contract, this does cancel the contract and shut down your account.
      That's what happened for me, I didn't have to call Virgin Mobile once.
      I'm sorry, I don't know what happens if you move number and you still are in the middle of a 12 month or 24 month contract.
      My guess is that you can still move but you might still have to continue the payments.
      Hope this helps!

    • @katieforster9900
      @katieforster9900 Před 3 lety

      If you are in the middle of a contract you'll probably be charged a termination fee plus your regular bill. If that makes sense. You will probably have to pay a bill anyway for the next month, at least that's what they guy in the shop told me today

    So our phone number is tied to the sim card? My phone developed a fault so I've picked up a new sim free phone, is it just a case of putting the old sim in and transferring any data across from the old phone via USB cable or Bluetooth? or will have to contact my provider O2 to notify them I'm using a new device?

    • @DADDELIVERS

      Hi thanks for the kind question - yes, just transfer over the old sim.
      Forgive me I don't know what kind of phone you have or what kind of data - I have an android phone so everything is linked to my google account and I just sign in with that on the new phone.
      I don't think, you need to notify O2 if the SIM is the same size it should all just continue working. Hope this helps!

      According to Ofcom, if you move your number by PAC code the old provider should just close your account and not charge you, or refund anything due.
      If it were me though, I'd probably cancel the direct debit anyway!
      If it helps, I didn't bother on mine with Virgin (moneygrubbers) Media and the account was all closed safely anyway.

      @DADDELIVERS  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Paul
      Thanks for the kind comment and question -- In my case, with Virgin Mobile - I deliberately didn't contact them at all to see what would happen.
      I think the Ofcom rules are that the network must shut down the account once the transfer has been made and final bill paid.
      It took about 4 weeks after the transfer that I got the final bill and I might have had a refund on the half month.
      I think most networks have a 30 day notice , so it's just rounded to that month's bill.
      I didn't do a thing and everything was closed and no more direct debits were taken out.
      Not heard from them since - bliss!
      Good luck with your transfer - just go to Ofcom's website if you have any problems - and thanks again

      @DADDELIVERS  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hi, thanks for the kind comment.
      This is the first I've heard that pay as you go can't be moved.
      If you text the PAC number do they not give you a PAC code?
      If not, are you able to get a PAC code from the vodafone website, if you have an account on there?
      If you have problems or are being blocked from moving, there is an easy report form on the Ofcom website, but Vodafone should provide you with a pac code whatever the contract is
      I'm not an expert but hope this helps

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The details are here:
      streetwave.co/mobile-networks/how-to-get-a-pac-code-from-vodafone-o2-3-or-ee
      If you call customer services again and are told you can't get a pac code, tell them the call is being recorded for evidence to give to Ofcom and see the response.
      Also if you have a twitter account tweet them what you have been told too because it sounds like a rogue call centre lout trying to keep up their targets for non-leavers.
      If it's true, it's Classic Vodafone.

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Tsegaye - thanks for the kind question!
      Wow, okay, this is an unusual situation for me, so I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask, but here goes.
      Do you know if your phone is locked to the network you're leaving?
      If not, then you're right - I think it's just a case of swapping sim cards on the day of the transfer.
      If your phone is locked, you can get the network you're leaving to unlock your phone - I think it costs about £10, or you can go to one of those high street phone screen repair places to unlock your phone. Otherwise it wont work with your new network's sim card until it's unlocked.
      You can tell if its unlocked by just putting the new network's sim card into your phone and seeing if the phone can 'see' the new network.
      I hope this helps. Good luck!

      @DADDELIVERS  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the kind question DarioCLB and sorry to hear this.
      How long ago did you quit them?
      Do/Did you have an online account with them: you might be able to get the PAC code via their website.
      Or you should be able to port your number from them to where you are now (which I'm assuming is what you want to do)
      The Ofcom website might also be able to help - you shouldn't lose your phone number just because you have left them.
      Hate to say this, but the last option is to call Vodafone to get a PAC code to port your number.
      Good luck and hope something here helps.

      @DADDELIVERS  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi thanks for the kind question, sorry it's taken a while to reply.
      Hope I'm understanding the question correctly:
      You don't need to cancel before switching to a new sim - it should shut down automatically...
      but that's assuming you're 'out of contract' which is how I was when I switched.
      The account shut down automatically on the next month and I didn't have to contact my old network at all.
      I'm sorry that don't know what happens if you're still in a minimum length contract - I don't know if the payments continue or if you get a different number after your original number has moved.

      The new network might be able to help as a first port of call though.
      And apparently it has to be done within 6 months to avoid losing the number permanently
      Would love to know how this works out, good luck.

      @@DADDELIVERS ok I explain how it's happened. I'm not English but i live in uk, about 2 months ago i went back to my country and my sim didn't work after 2 or 3 days. I texted for help to te website and said to me they fixed the problem after a month and that I had to activate the sim and send the PAC because the sim was blocked(still don't know why) know I decided to buy a new sim with a new plan I'm keeping to ask for help to switch the number from the old sim to the new one but they say always the same thing (that I have to request the PAC) but they don't wanna understand that I can't if my sim doesn't work and I don't have signal so I honestly don't know how to do. Btw thanks for the quick reply ;)

      @@lachari5832 Thanks Lachari, so sorry to hear this. Your English is excellent
      Just to make sure -- because this is confusing, and I am not an expert... but...
      When your SIM was locked, you sometimes need a PUK code (not a PAC code) to unlock it. Here's the definition of a PUK code
      "The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) and PUK2 are used to unlock the PIN and PIN 2 codes respectively if your SIM card is blocked.
      A PUK, which is sometimes known as a network unlocking code (NUC) or personal unlocking code (PUC), is a unique sequence of eight digits that your network must supply, as long as you fulfil certain criteria.
      As indicated above, a PUK is required when you want to unlock a phone. You’ll need one in the event that your handset is locked by your current network and you want to use a SIM card from another network.
      You’ll also need to get a PUK code in the event that you mistakenly enter the wrong PIN code and you are automatically locked out."
      So, I am just checking in case you need to unlock your SIM...
      Sorry I can't be of more help

      I am so sorry to hear this Sharmina - the rotters.
      I'm afraid that it might have to be via their website or by phone if that doesn't let you in. Please move quickly because your phone number might expire in the meantime, and be sure to complain to Ofcom if you get any nonsense from them:
      www.ofcom.org.uk/complaints/complain-about-phones-or-internet-services/changing-provider
      The section 'number porting' should help - but hope you can move with your number intact. Good luck and thanks again.

      Ack sorry to hear this KUS
      Have you checked your network's website - all networks should be accepting the first text and then text you back with either the PAC or what to do next
