  • Today we are continuing our Series about the cheapest RVs on the market and this time the most versatile class has fallen under our magnifying glass. Modern class Bs possess economical engines, great handling and practical interior layouts that fit all of the necessary amenities. Bear in mind, though that in this episode we will be reviewing only full-size class Bs without looking into the smallest campervans the likes of VW California or Mercedes Marco Polo, it is a topic for another video.

    0:45 #1 Winnebago Solis: winnebago.com/models/product/solis
Though, slightly exceeding the “affordable” benchmark, the Solis by Winnebago is one of the last Promaster-based campervans within the American manufacturer’s lineup. This Class B still includes the best features from the brand.
    2:01 #2 2021 Thor Motor Coach Sequence: thormotorcoach.com/sequence
Launched just over a year ago, the first Class B van from Thor Motor Coach is getting a few updates in 2021. Though it continues to be built on the Ram 3500 chassis, the Sequence is now offered in 3 floorplans, adding a 20A model with a cassette toilet and an optional pop-top roof with a bed.
    3:21 #3 Roadtrek Zion SRT: roadtrek.com/models/zion-srt/
Established in 1980s, the Canadian Roadtrek exclusively specializes in building Class B motorhomes, based on Mercedes Sprinter and Ram ProMaster chassis. The Zion SRT is built on the latter one, so it derives power from a 3.6L V6 engine and has a 159 inches-long wheelbase.
    4:36 #4 2020 Thor Motor Coach Tellaro: thormotorcoach.com/tellaro/
After a successful introduction of the Sequence RV, Thor Motor Coach expands its Class B range with a new Tellaro model. It is distinguished by more modern interior styling, that is performed in white and linen colors.
    5:44 #5 Carado Banff: • Carado Banff - Experie... - $83,000
Due to the financial troubles the enterprise was stopped in its tracks but its future might still be bright after Thor Motor Coach acquisition. So lets go back to reviewing their most versatile Banff model. It is offered in three chassis sizes.
    6:56 #6 2020 Ogavans Rambler and Summit: ogavans.com/vansforsale / ogavans.com/rambler-with-storage
If you already own a Ram ProMaster van and would like to get it custom-converted to your specification, then the Maryland-based Off-Road Adventure Vans are the right people for you. The company offers several conversion packages for the model, out of which the most affordable ones are the Rambler and the Summit. Occasionally, the company also sells fully equipped road-ready Class Bs, that pack plenty of extras, like AC, heating, a toilet, an outside shower and additional solar panels. Such builds are priced around $80,000 with the 2019 Ram ProMaster included.
    8:11 #7 Glampervan MUV: glampervan.us
Designed for the Pro-Master high-roof van with a short, 136-inch wheelbase, the Glampervan MUV turns this tried and tested model into a camper, a mobile office and a cargo hauler at the same time.
    9:24 #8 Adria Twin: adria-mobil.com/vans/twin
Adria easily makes the most desirable RVs in the business in terms of price to quality comparison. One of such rare gems is the new generation of the Twin campervans.
    10:35 #9 HYMER Free S: hymercar.com/dk/modeller/camper-vans/models-on-a-mercedes-benz-chassis/hymer-free-s/highlights.html
One of the main reasons to buy the HYMER Free S, apart from the German manufacturer’s reputation, is its donor van, which is the new front-wheel-drive Mercedes Sprinter.

After doing research this is a great list for a reality check because these are turn key meaning you could walk in with your gear and drive to your camp ground. If this is for recreation rent them it’s cheap in the long run but if you’re doing van life buy a van that you don’t have to finance and build it out as you determine what your needs are. I definitely like the Murphy bed and pop top pairing.

Very good video. I believe that there is a very large market in the U.S. for a 2-person basic campervan. But the companies want to sell you all the fancy stuff that really has not additional function. All I want is the basic Dodge Ram van with simple bed, cabinets, and compost toilet. Basically a traveling motel room, so that I can visit all the National Parks and not h ave to pay $200 to $300 dollars per night for room and food. Something engineered for $65,000 would be nice, like the Solis or the Tofino. Start basic with the potential to add creature comforts as needed.

if i had one the first thing id remove, the Porest name on the back. don't matter what rv you got you got some extra cash to spend so you not really poor, unless its home built one what be far cheaper than even the van ones but it size bus with bedrooms. think the name might put a few people off from buying, if it was Hyundai explorer, Hyundai travel anything better than Porest. have nothing with cheap rv, even micro ones i say more the better, ive been tempted recent an old bedford racial well with in budget what got for next car but very tempted micro rv be great for my trips away and those long 7-12 drives through Wales, and small van lots places you pull over enjoy a great view but huge risks classic van what seen 30 plus winters in uk with lots salt on road so while im tempted but still undecided.depends if i win bit money and can buy a good condition so a good foundation to start with then could be more tempting

    • @bambiharzott26

@@MustSeeTech the #1 thing in a van is a recirculating shower with no sink in shower. Shower walls should be straight & flat so after shower one can use a squeeze on walls to help water go down.
#2 a vent /fan on upper side of shower wall. Shower should have a flip bar to hang swim suit/ scuba diving suit.
#3 Vans need 1000 volts of solar panels. We need enough power to run TV & computer & refrigerator & microwave at same time. Maybe even a small oven. Everything should be able to runs 24 hrs with no electricity from camp grounds or someone's house. Of course I will never run microwave for more then 5 minutes. But I do not want to run out of power.
#4 8-10 lithium batteries with easy access to batteries. I would put batteries on a tray like some people put bikes on a pull out tray. I would wrap each battery with that electric heated pads for batteries. That way batteries can survive in cold snow winter weather , if one uses van to go skiing.
#5 air conditioner that works off the floor. That way it doesn't have hot sun beating on airconditioner. That way there is more room for solar panels. The dog and cat will like it when airconditioner comes on automatically when the temperature reaches 75 Fahrenheit. The dog would love to lay down near blowing cold air.
#6 A hitch /rack in the back of the van for a motorcycle carry ramp. I think that a motorcycles can tour cities with narrow street better than a van. Also save on gasoline/ diesel. I would always want my motorcycle with me. But I no longer drive motorcycles on snow. Having a motorcycle helps for when one runs out of gasoline / diesel. In some countries gasoline stations are to far apart. One will need a motorcycle to go get fuel.
#7 bicycles rack in front of van.
#8 I perfer a separate freezer. Separate refrigerator. Both must run 24 hrs. Refrigerator should always be placed where it is easy to remove from the van in case the refrigerator has to be serviced. It is helpful when refrigerator and freezer work off 12 volt /gas/ 210 volt as backup. The refrigerator that door opens from both sides is nice.
#9 a deep large kitchen sink with rotation large handle, that has a pull out nozzle. It is nice when sink is large enough to fit a 12 LB cat in sink. My cat loves to sleep in kitchen sink.
If the sink is placed near a door then the pull out nozzle should be long enough to go outside. I would put a fast Detachment on the faucet so I can hook up 30 feet hose. I could use flex hose to wash down mud off dog or boots. I could also use hose to fill van radiator if needed. In real life I needed that in my Ford van two times. Also wash mud off motorcycle .
#10 air compressor seat for driver. Like the 18 wheelers trucks. That way one can drive 10 hours without having blood in legs cut off. It helps to not fall asleep while driving . Plus seat should be confortable for someone that is 4 feet 9 inches tall and 6 feet 2 inches tall. Most driver seats in most vans are to tall !!! That cuts off the circulation and causes varicose veins.
If companies are going to continue making driver seat so tall then a large box is need on floor. I would extend the brake , clutch & gas peddles over the box on floor.
But easier to install air compresser seat. Makes it more confortable for bumpy rides.
#11 rotation driver/passenger seats. With a lagoon table in between the seats. This is easy to do.
#12 van needs a second alternator.
#13 then needs air compressor the fill up tires.
#14 A Large Garage storage under the bed.
#15. If u put bed on a elevator up/down system to make it easy to get to stuff from garage area.
#16 Screen door on sliding door so cat & dog can't escape. The dog and cat can get out with the screen net, not good.
Back doors need a screen on upper part by bed. And seperate screen door for under bed. It is nice to sleep with back doors open hanging over a mountain. But I don't want my cat or dog to go sky diving. I do not want flying bugs in van so it must have a screen or net
I wish they would make nets for driver/passenger window
      #17 heated floors.
#18. Fan inside van to suck out food cooking smell or for air circulation while sleeping in 90 -110 degree Fahrenheit. I have done this many years . But if u have a dog/ cat must keep van 80 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
I noticed that most fan/vents are on roof of van. Why not put Van /Vent on side of van wall? Do they even make fans for side of vans. Boats have them out on oceans. And water doesn't get inside.
#19 I do not need this for parallel parking for I know how to parallel park an 18 wheeler.
#19. Camera on all 4 sides of van that can be monitored on TV inside van for security. Video should be able to Monitore on cell phone.
That way u can watch your van from inside a restaurant or building. This is when thieves like to break in ,when they watch you go inside the restaurant.
Also might be nice to have videos to prove an accident in the court of law.
This video is also good for CZcams videos.
I don't understand why some people can not drive a 20-25 foot van.
I think the whole world needs to test drive people on large cars, Vans, in rain,in dark before giving out driver license. Test parallel parking from passenger side and driver side before issuing a driver's license. The test should be in dark.
This is why we have bad drivers on the road , they do not test them enough.
#20 a satellite dish that can rotate 360 degrees. That you can angle it in any direction from inside the van. WiFi is hard to get in some places outside USA., major cities.
I have only seen this on overland trucks. Nice for free WiFi.
#21 Short people do not mind the storage over driver/passenger seat area.
Since most of the time while in driver /passenger seat area one is sitting down , I think we should have that storage platform for back pack or winter coats or something.
#21 All terrain off road tires.
      4 wheel drive.
#22 Van should be higher off ground because sometimes one needs to go over a tree. The tree may be as big as a basketball.
I don't like when muffler or something under van gets damaged. Especially that airconditioner under van.
#23 ladder I am not sure that ladder has to be on back of van because of that motorcycle on back of van. So maybe ladder on side or front corner of van.
#24. A hammock off of 80/20 rails off van somewhere.ñ
I like the idea of swing on a hammaock that we do not need a tree. There are no trees on most beaches.
      # 25
If there is room I would put in a washing / dryer machine for clothes.
I am not sure what size of inverter I would need for a machine. ???
      #26 Mud flaps.
I noticed that mud flap helps with snow. It also keeps one from getting charged with man slaughter.
If u go over some road debris , it can act like a bullet to a motorcycle rider behind van.
One time I drove over a piece of tire. It broke the window of car behind me. And it ended up inside her car.
I had a legal cass like this. I am glad it didn't blind the lady.
She was not following to close behind me. She was like 200 feet or more behind me.
#27 I would have 2 separate water tanks. One for shower. One for kitchen sink.
      #-1
I forgot about tiolet. Since most people that use B-size vans do not use RV parks , I think we need not to have a black tank. Cassette tiolet or nature head tiolet .
Beside there are counties that haveñ no RV parks. Most Gasoline station have no dump for black tank. It cost money to dump.
In 20 years I only had to do #2 in van two times. Most of the time there is a public toilet. And I do have 1-2 bowel movements per day.
I cannot think of what else should be in a van. I wish I had a water bed in van. But that may be to heavy.
Companies that make B-Vans should remember recirculating shower and that someone 4 feet 9 inches tall can not reach a microwave at top of ceiling..
Also please stop making driver seat so high that some of us can not reach brakes.
It is an accident waiting to happen when one has to use a cane to apply foot brakes.
Thanks for asking me. I am just trying to be helpful.
