Aa long as the ride stays the same and as quiet
Keep the V6 no 4 cylinder turbo.
The V-tech V6 is a excellent motor. Smoothest motor ive ever driven and it pulls hard.
Ive owned Rams, Ford F 150s and the Ridgeline is better than all of them for my purposes. It hauls 4x8 sheets of plywood and drywall with ease and its smaller and easier to fit in my garage. Plus it has a trunk and is all wheel drive. Best handling most sure footed truck on the market in my opinion. The naturally aspirated V6 is the best.
I want the turbo V6 they put in Acuras. That would be incredible. I have a 2022 Ridgeline it's the greatest truck
Great idea! Honda makes the best V6 in my opinion
Your comments on the current payload are a little misleading. The Ridgeline has a higher current payload than many of the other brand's midsize offerings.
Also something that is never mentioned is the greater width of the Ridgeline provides better handling, more interior room and comfort and it is the only midsize wide enough for 4x8 sheet goods.
The new generation of the Ranger is now wide enough for 4' wide flat in the floor.
5k lb 😢
As soon as I hear turbo with inline 4 turned off the video! 😅😂
4 cyl is a NO. This will cross this truck off my list. The frontier is for sure looking like my next truck
Keep the v6
Owned a first Gen 08 RTL for 11 years. Other than the timing belt service it was a great (kinda) truck. Sold it with almost 200k miles to my gf and it still runs great.
Unless it ditches start stop and cylinder deactivation I’ll pass. Also not interested in a turbo 4 cylinder, especially from Honda with its history of fuel dilution problems.
Curious what you don’t like about cylinder deactivation? We have a pilot with 140k with zero issues and you don’t even notice when it’s active.
That's old school thinking...
Agreed, gonna be more trouble from Honda.
Tiny hybrid 4 cyl would ruin the whole project
I absolutely love my 2021 Ridgeline Black. I'll probably buy this new model, but I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd year so they can work out the kinks.
Alot of problems with these new truck engines. Will wait for a while and hang onto my 2020 ridgeline with it's proven bulletproof engine.
I hope you are wrong about power train.
Can you explain comment about power train a little more
@thomaskirk9546 The current engine is a V6 with a history for reliability and a nice engine sound. The current trend is to replace V6's with small displacement turbo 4 cylinders. The Turbo 4 has better low-end torque, but yet to be determined reliability. When things do eventually go wrong, they'll be expensive. Many prefer an old school V6 over a turbo 4, especially in a truck.
I agree
Yeah you are not well informed, word is the same 3.0 V6 hybrid system that has been used by acura in the 2020 MDX is making a much needed revised comeback, that being said the ridgeline will the last to get it. The new ridgeline will have the new pilot chassis and drivetrain, dual cam V6 with 10 speed. There will be no increase in towing but there will be in payload. Expect a hybrid In 2030 lol the passport will also have similiar updates.
Which, if any, of the 7 key reasons are fact, not your own guess, Fuel Force? I came here hoping for facts, as I am about to buy a 2024 Ridgeline.
4 cylinder turbo with ev boost for torque .... Take my money!
Gonna change it again, my gid, get it right in the 1St place and let it ride. 1:25
Too late. People are struggling to pay their bills and keep up a running household.
turbo 4.... Here we go again. Fail.
Maverick sales up 80% yr over yr
Cmon honda just fn do a hybrid
The power train will be it's Achilles heel if it comes to fruition, Hybrid power will be expensive to repair 7-10 years down the road... and that's a NO-GO for me .
I hope that 4 banger with a turbo is a nasty rumor. I have a 07 Ridgeline and want to upgrade but if Honda stays true to not follow the turbo 4 stupidity.
If Honda changes to a BS 4 banger Turbo after seeing that the Tacoma is having problems selling and breaking down . Those at the TOP at Honda are FOOLS !! Plus , just make a F-ing BOX frame !!!!!! NO BS TURBO !!
I’ve been wanting a mid size truck phev. I’m ok with a 4 cylinder. My 1.5 and 2.5l Honda 4s have been excellent engines, I’d expect the same for new variants. Not excited about a huge infotainment screen. And I’d be concerned about who’s making the batteries.
Me too! Wife has a Kia Sorento PHEV with 32 miles electric range and since most of her trips are local her current mileage is 92 mpg! I'm hoping for the PHEV Ridgeline!
Interesting forecast, but what's the source of your info? This sounds like complete speculation, but the narrator speaks as though these are firmly established details.
If Honda wants to put in a turbo engine in the Ridgeline, then it should be a 3.0 liter turbo from the MDX and not some turbo 4 cylinder
Do a fn hybrid already
I don't think it will surpass the body on truck chassis it will cater to an older niche well healed customers.
Didn’t the Ridgeline just get a mid-cycle refresh for ‘24? Why would a whole new truck come the following year?
very minor
It was 2022 the did some very minor tweaks for 24
The vehicle in your video didnt have the RIDGELINE stamped out in tail gate!!
It took Honda19 years to fix the low torque engine problem. The old V6 struggled to tow a 2,000 lb. motorcycle/trailer uphill. They are doing the talk but will it do the walk?
Sales are off by 22%
I will not buy a 4cylinder turbo. turbos are not reliable and have maintenance problems. I'll keep my 2020 RTL E thank you.
When your driving down a highway and see the huge tractor trailer hauling huge loads remember that a turbo! Do your research they easily hit a million miles
Powertrain is unknow but it will be a hybrid. 🤣🤣🤣
Bs put honda civic type R engine in it and make ridgeline R please stop doing bs.
Great, do away with the reliable V-6 and stick a turbo 4 cylinder in it. I don’t care how much more powerful or faster this 4 banger will be give the buyer the option to buy the Ridgeline with the reliable V-6 or this new turbo 4 banger. Another turbo 4 banger we will have to worry about. Leave the 4 cylinders in your Civic, Accord and so on not in a truck. Like Toyota Honda can keep their 4 banger.
Not a fan of these changes tbh
No one with a brain wants a four-cylinder over a six cylinder or a hybrid engine.
I meant to say that anyone with a brain would prefer this truck with the unbelievably reliable V6 naturally aspirated engine over experimental, hybrid engine, or turbo, four-cylinder, which introduces multiple failure points and will reduce the longevity of the truck
All the garbage he's talking about isnt really anything to do with bring real value over and above the current model but rather a deceptive way for Honda to generate much higher profits. Get informed people its never about you its about the greed of this corporate entity.
It’s cheap looking. Not much effort into design. Needs a bold looking body. But maybe that’s because it’s not a capable off roader. And Honda doesn’t want people to think it is an do damage. So keep a low profile design so that it doesn’t have to compete.
Sorry Honda, time to build a truck instead of a mall crawler.
The Ridgeline will always be a grandpa’s truck…
Hopefully you'll live long enough to become a grandpa some day...

very curious. once again: Nissan Frontier.
