Ashleigh Burton: "I'm so sick of all these movies not killing the bad guy!"

@Necramonium fun fact the punisher thomas jane is a police in Scott pilgrim vs the world.
Thats what drew me to Venom. He doesnt just kill them, he eats them. lol Like they are dead dead. lol
@@JustPlayTheGame76 imo the biggest fail of Venom(the movie) is how neither Venom nor Riot explain why they are even fighting for...
@@fabiomoreira5820 The biggest fail of the movie is that it didnt follow the original source material. But Sony was too proud to do that.
Well, if he killed him it wouldn't be a SuperHERO movie, it'd be something else.
Who else thinks the Ashleigh is one of the most genuine and down to earth people on this platform? She is amazing!!
I do I do!
Agreed
Her and Brandon Likes Movies are my two favorite reactors on CZcams, period. Because they are both very genuine and endearing in their own way.
I agree
Indeed. Can't help but love Ashleigh.
Ashleigh: If she's a superhero than what does she do? Who is she?
Also Ashleigh: Damn, she's a badass.
That about sums it up.
Also she can control any vehicle by stabbing knives into the drivers shoulders.

Mercy has no place in Ashleigh's dojo.
Maybe once she's done with the MCU she can react to the Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai
Mercy? There is no mercy.
Fan! Congratulations 🥳 I got a prize for you 👍🌹
I’m sitting here thinking “I can only imagine what would happen when Ashly sees Deadpool” 🤣
oh hell yeah!!
I'm also thinking of when she watches Infinity War and Endgame.
NOT part of the MCU!
Don’t confuse her!!
Let her get through these first.
Her watching DeadPool would be entertaining
Deadpool is the opposite of what I usually watch. Vulgar is NOT funny. And I absolutely loved it.
Ashleigh: Are we gonna have Magnesium-man?
Marvel: Write that down...
These days, Aluminum Man wouldn’t surprise me. He’s big into recycling, and he’s a little soft...
In the early 1960s, DC Comics had a series called Metal Men, which were advanced A.I. robots made of a few metals and their powers exemplified the primary metal they were built from. There was Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Tin and Platinum. The comic faded in the mid-1970s, with a few guest appearances in other DC superhero comics into the 2010s.
seems like he'd be short lived...but spectacular
Well this whiplash has elements of ironman arch enemy Crimson Dynamo so she's on the right track
Why not, they did Asbestos Man.
"Ivan being Terrible" LoL I see what you did there...

I've waited long enough. Iron Man 2 is still a piece of dogshit.
@@jackdubz4247 IMHO, the movie has two villains, neither one of which is fully actualized. I don't even remember what happened to Justin Hammer and I don't care. I do wonder what happened to the bird.
Also the ending is near identical to Iron Man.
Colson was never suppose to be a big part of the MCU. Instead he became an instant hit.
Yeah he was the only mcu character to be made into a comic character after the fact.
Son of Col he shall forever be in my memory.
I think he is my favorite “non-hero” character, his quick wit sense of humor and his sense of what to to that’s right even when he’s going against the rules made him fun to watch.
Yeah, a whole series of Agents of Shield, he made an impact.
@@Docktavion The first, but not the only. FitzSimmon, May, and Ward all eventually migrated to the SHIELD comics as well, though with notably different backstories and characterizations (comics Fitz is kind of a womanizing dickhead and Comics Simmons gets turned into a Dethlok).
"Tony Stark speaking french...hmmm," what a throw back to Jaime Lee Curtis simping on Cleese speaking russian. Lol
That line about a phoenix metaphor is also a meta reference to RDJ's career. It started strong and quickly went downhill with his drug abuse and incarceration. He was eating a burger from Burger King when he had his moment of clarity, threw the disgusting burger and all his drugs into the ocean, and never looked back. Casting him as Iron Man was a big risk at the time, but it revitalized his career and made him the brilliant performer we know and love today. That's also why he was eating Burger King in the first movie.
The line "it's me, I'm here, get used to it" is another meta reference to Rhodey's recasting.
Ashleigh: "And what happens when these little drones become self aware?"
Many viewers: "Time to watch the Terminator movies."
Only the first three. It gets too weird after that.
And I’m sure most people will discount “Rise,” but I thought it was a good movie
@@tconlon251 First two. Nothing beyond the second is canon in my eyes.
Now you don't need to go to Terminator to see self-aware machines, just watch age of Ultron
I love that you had no idea who Black Widow was. That made the reveal stronger for you that it did for a typical comic fan. Watching you watch these for the first time is great.
I didn't know either when I first saw this.
That was me while watching. Lol
All i know while watching this movie as a kid that she really beautiful but then she started kicking ass
What's great is seeing her putting pieces together as she goes along, and that's the MCUs greatest strength. It makes these tiny connections that eventually snowball into infinity war and endgame and do it so well in a way no one has really seen before.
I’ll be honest I’ve seen this movie many times when I was younger and only now realized that Johansson was even in this movie. As a marvel fan I am definitely ashamed of myself
Ashleigh: “What does she do?” Ashleigh a few minutes later: “She’s a badass.” Exactly, that’s what she does.
Am I the only one who will from now on call Nick Fury "Captain Eyepatch Man"?
That's DIRECTOR Eyepatch Man
Thanks to Moviebob, I still call him "Pirate Spy".
I thought he was a General?
Ashleigh: "I was right, the nucleus! Am I a scientist?"

6:38 The actor here is Jon Favreau, one of the two geniuses behind "The Mandalorian" and much of the Marvel movies. He also directed "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2."
Also Zathura (which maintain is very underrated) and Elf!

The visual design of the 'home movies' Tony watches of his Dad were modeled after the 'talks' that Walt Disney would do on the various programs. I miss Walt...every Sunday night, getting together with family and watching the Wonderful World of Disney...
You may not have seen much with Sam Rockwell, but he's a national treasure.
Catch him in anything you can.
Hammer and Zemo dance off.
Do it. Do it now!
Galaxy Quest
I tend to get him mixed up with James Franco.
I recommend the film Moon.
He was great in ninja turtles the movie lol
The plot of this film is loosely based on the Iron Man story "Demon in a Bottle". In that story Tony suffers from alcoholism and can't reliably be Iron Man anymore, so Rhody ends up taking over for him for a while. In the comic book eventually Tony cleans himself up builds a new suit, and returns. For a while there are two Iron Men, then Rhody starts getting a little psychotic we find out it's because the suit was never attuned to work with his brain waves. Later on Tony ends up giving him one of his newer suits, the War Machine suit and attuning it to his brain waves so he can use it without risk.
Oh Ashleigh, you have no idea how excited you are to meet Thor. I think he's the reason my Wife got into the MCU.
Yup, same here. Thor was the hunk of man meat my wife swooned over to get into the MCU.
@Impractical Jokers Fan I'm 6 foot 8 and reasonably good looking, but not many people can stack up to Chris Hemsworth. That's just a fact.

Me: So dark! Are you sure you're not from the DC universe?
Ton Stark was largely based on Howard Hughes, a rich inventor and pilot in the mid-20th century who had a reputation as a womanizer. (Hence why his father's name is Howard). The senate hearing is based on a real-life incident when Hughes was brought before the US senate to answer questions about his business practices. Just as Stark does here, Hughes mocked the senator questioning him, dominated the hearings with his big personality, and came away looking like a hero for "taking on city hall".
The reputation of Howard Hughes, and the dislike of weapons makers during the Vietnam war was part of the challenge to turn into a superhero by Stan Lee.
Also House from Fallout New Vegas.
The little kid in the Iron Man helmet you were so worried about? You’ll see him “hanging around” again when he’s a bit older. He’s a real “swinging” guy.
'Anansi' what you did there.
This response is worthy of an super suit designed by Tony himself.
@@JJPlayes Ah... I’ve GOT a super suit! Except mine is big and baggy with a funny hat and big shoes!

The new hero is Natasha Romanov, her "secret" identity is the Black Widow...and yes Thor is the next movie in the timeline and what the end credit scene was hinting at. I would recommend finding the short that happens between these two movies. It is called, "A Funny Thing Happened on the way to Thor's Hammer"...this establishes Agent Colson as a bad-ass....have fun and love your channel.

Hammer is played by Sam Rockwell, who is amazing. You'll see him again when you get to Galaxy Quest and The Green Mile.
He was also great in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Rockwell is such a chameleon. I know on an intellectual level that he plays the characters he does, but he makes me forget he is an actor and gets me to take him just as the characters.
Moon!
The Pacific Rim. He's hilarious in that too.
"Choke" not for the squeamish, but directed by Agent Colson.
Watching someone start the MCU from the beginning is like watching someone start kindergarten after you’ve graduated college. Hold on to your butt, Ash, you’re in for a ride.
SHE is Black Widow - an assassin. She is with us now. Keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times and enjoy the ride! (Keep the watch in order.)
This movie was a weak introduction to a great character
Dude Spoiler alert. You are only supposed to tell her about things that are revealed here. They did not reveal her superhero name yet. Only that her name is Natasha Romanoff. Not a big spoiler to be sure, but still a spoiler.
“... along with Ivan being TERRIBLE” is a BRILLIANT line!! 👏 Wondering if you did that on purpose 🧐 Awesome either way!!
Chronologically, you should watch Thor next. Marvel has done a very good job of introducing new heroes in movies and linking them to other heroes.
They had to a good job at it. It was a get-it-right-or-die situation as The Avengers was a huge gamble and Thor.
I strongly feel that release order is best for first time watchers.
Yes, Thor should be watched RIGHT before the group-Avengers movie, for maximum result. There's no real reason to watch IM2, except for War Machine, and bits of Nick talking about the Avengers.
(And Natasha/Black Widow gets a way better origin-introduction in her "Avengers" recap.)

Jennifer Grey carried one in for her.
Natasha Romanov, a.k.a. Black Widow, was trained to be an assassin since she was a child. In the comics I believe she was also in KGB. She wanted to change her ways and she became one of the top agents in SHIELD. She doesn't have super-powers, she's a highly trained and skilled fighter ;) =) Rhodey's superhero name is War Machine.
She also removed her ovaries to make her not care about being a mommy.
@@fabiomoreira5820 True, but that part wasn't necessary to tell just yet. But it's gonna be a loooong while before Ashleigh gets there & by then she's problably forgot about it 😉 She was forced to remove her ovaries so she couldn't get a child.
Don't spoil it for her. She's intentionally going in blind and will learn this all in time.

Relevant to your "Marvel-ous" pun, as part of their (mostly) friendly rivalry over the years, DC Comics often refers to Marvel as their "Marvelous competitors," and Marvel refers to DC as their "Distinguished Competition."

Scarlett Johansson had been in movies since she was a little girl. Her playing the Black Widow kicked her way up into major actress category. Her character name is Natasha Romanoff. 12:56 Not even tapes. It's from 1974, so it's film. Actual celluloid film. Looks like one can of home-movie grade, and another of more professional grade they were using for the '74 Expo promos.
Now that you've seen this, I recommend finding the short, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer." It's a cute little story showcasing Agent Coulson.
Comic book "laws" (so they could sell them to children) weren't allowed to kill anyone and the good guys always had to win in the end. That's how it started. Now there are no real rules and just age restrictions/recommendations.
I went to see this in the theatre, and it was a blast. Only a few people stayed for the post credit scene, me and a young couple with their son. We were fairly close together, and at the end of the scene, this exchange happened:
Kid: "What's that?"
.
Me: "Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor."
.
Kid: "Is he cool?"
.
Kids dad, emphatically: "Oh yeah!"
.
We exchanged pleasantries as we left the theatre and made our way to the lobby. I thought it was great that someone was able to share his love of old comic books and comic book movies with their child. I was probably his kid's age when I started reading Norse mythology, and that is where my interest in Thor started. I'm glad they made changes between the old comic book Thor and the movie adaptation, because it made the character work better in my opinion.

Does not harm at all. That's little Tom Holland under that mask.
The fact that you don't know many spoilers is just going to make this MCU journey that much more satisfying. You are loving it already so hang on cuz the rollercoaster is just getting started.
"I'm gonna cry"
You'll be bawling later in this franchise. I'm not gonna say when, but you will.
I love your comments. I also love how you get in to the movies. That’s the same way I react to all my movies. You get completely transported. Watching you and any of these movies take me back to when first saw them.
Check out the films by Kevin Smith, affectionately known as the Viewaskewniverse. Start with Clerks it is such a great movie! The second one, Mallrats, is particularly MARVELOUS!
I still feel Chasing Amy is his best work. But all five of those first films he made are wonderful. I realize I’m in the minority, but I also love Jersey Girl (which is not connected to the Viewaskewniverse).
@@CraigKostelecky Chasing Amy is my favorite as well and Jersey Girl is definitely underrated, even by some of his hardcore fans. Outside of the Jersey films I think Red State is a masterpiece.
should watch mallrats just before captain marvel for some fun synergy, and maybe see batman vs superman around then as well
@@inkedfish7373 I also enjoyed Red State but didn’t love it, and I have skipped almost every movie he’s made after Tusk with the exception of Reboot (which was underwhelming).
I count myself one of Kevin Smith’s hardcore fans and I was literally going to comment that she should watch his movies. Like Mallrats was basically Stan’s first big cameo type movie. I loved the friendship that he and Kevin built. Stan’s last on screen cameo was in film Jason Mewes (Jay) directed and stared in. I think I’ve watched and own everything Kevin’s been involved in even on the small screen. Meeting him was a bucket list item up until several years back.
My favorite moment in any Marvel film: "What is and always will be my greatest creation, is you."
