    Who ever designed the glossy part on the front of the edge, needs to be fired, then re-hired and immediately fired again.

    While the lack of 4 back buttons is a bummer, I've had 2 Scuf controllers, both of which died shortly after a year due to bad stick drift. Scuf use official Sony controllers that they modify, which means you get the same crappy stick modules. With the Edge allowing the modules to be swapped out, and Hall Effect modules currently in development, I'd take the Edge.

      Wait you got a year out of a scuf I've had 3 all die within 4 months then got screwed around by customer service and this resulted in me taking the scufs to the range and shooting them with my 12 gauge i paid 300 dollars for each of those scuf controllers I only need 2 rear buttons so roughly 100 dollars cheaper for the edge and you can easily fix stick drift and gulikit is working on a hall effect module

      I'm at about a year and a half with my first scuff controller. Any tips on making sure stick drift doesn't take over? I used to play 2% dead zone but now I need to play on 3% so it's slowly taking over and wanting to know if you know tips for keeping it healthy

    • @Jihadbearzwithgunz
      @Jihadbearzwithgunz Před 7 měsíci

      @@toiletpaper3765 unfortunately there isn't much you can do as it's the design of the sticks it uses carbon pads with a piece of metal as the finger that rides the carbon pad to very resistance and read location they have a limited life span as such and will over time require replacement of the analog sticks to fix why for me the new dualsense edge is the better option as the stick module makes replacement simply plug and play affair and also the possibility for hall effects replacements down the road from a third party

  • @iiishaneomaciii
    @iiishaneomaciii Před rokem +2

    The Software for the edge is a huge selling point as well. Between the replacement sticks and the software, the edge is the best choice.

    If you’re a sweaty e-sports player (which 99% of you aren’t) then the SCUF is the better buy. However if you’re a casual player that plays a variety of games, but mostly shooters and you just want more of an edge then the Edge is the better buy. In my opinion 4 paddles is overkill and isn’t necessary for average play and while 4 hours of battery life SUCKS just get a longer USB cable so that you can play comfortably while plugged in. Also the ability to change the analog sticks adds longevity to the controller which offsets the battery life issue.

    SCUF suing Valve for having back buttons on the Steam Controller, has ensured that I will never give SCUF any money, which is a shame, because the DualSense with it's touchpad is perfect for the Steam Deck, and I'd like to have the extra paddles. So I'll just have to stick with my Xbox Elite controller, which costs way less anyways.

    I can't find ANY reviews which address the pain the ps5 controllers cause due to their shape. Its all I care about - will this controller give me RSI and carpal tunnel? Has anyone purchased this scuf controller as a replacement for the new dual sense and had luck? It looks about the same shape. I have had no issues with any previous dual sense controller, but I can't even use this gen for 15 minutes before horrid pain sets in. I'm just trying to find someone whose tried each controller to tell me their experience so I can go back to playing games (which are LOW INTENSITY! by the way) like horizon and genshin impact.

      We did find a used edge, and mapping the back buttons to replace some of the right hand buttons worked wonders. My thumb doesn't need to stretch to reach the o button now and all is well. A shame that they changed the shape so dramatically from what did not cause pain to something horrid. I'm sorry you've never had luck with any Gen of ps!
