I'm Brazilian and I watched this film when I was a child, and because of my innocence I didn't understand the double meaning jokes but I still died laughing

In my opinion, Tracy Morgan playing spoof Professor X is the funniest thing he's done in his career.

It's hard to believe that the guy who wrote & directed this movie went on to write and executive produce the HBO miniseries Chernobyl, and after that, The Last of Us.
Not really. Not when you consider how bad most new comedies are due to censorship and cancel culture. Him creating other great works outside of comedy makes sense. You have to understand comedy to make a great comedic film. If your humor is like that of Mandy Kaling you can assume your other writing will be trash too.

@@jonathancunningham8739 yes but they havent targeted its always sunny now have they. They have taken down some episodes on certain streaming services though. Your same arguement could be said of south park, the simpsons, american dad, beavus and butthead, and family guy. They simply arent new enough for it to matter. All of those series had been running for a while and gained too much of a following. Cancel culture is very much by design. It cannot cancel what has already succeeded too far and most are still going. So it must cancel new products that want to thrive in a similar way. Im sure in some way they could ruin a spin off series about dennis and dee as kids by adding in some dumb woke bull. That way the dedicated fans will be upset over it and cancel the series. It happened with the Velma tv series. I dont know any scooby doo fan that likes that show. Same with ghostbusters, terminator, starwars, marvel, halo, etc. They create new content using existing products we love and insert the topics on purpose. They are effectively allowing us to cancel ourselves and ruin all we have come to love. Its a means of getting us to self destruct. Hence the by design part I mentioned earlier.
People are starting to weed out these organized groups that push for them too. I dont care who it is thats pushing this stuff along but it needs to stop. We know it doesnt have to be this way clearly by looking at spiderman far from home, captain underpants, and top gun maverick amongst others in recent years that have succeeded. They didnt include all that stuff and they did well.

For as derivative as the plot was, the solid writing and jokes really do make this stand out. Take note spoof makers, you can have your fart jokes so long as the rest of your movie doesn't stink. Great reaction guys!

Fun fact: the actor playing the robber who kills Rick's parents is the same actor who killed Uncle Ben in Spider-Man (2002). Good casting.

This movie has so many good jokes, even if it isn't the greatest overall. The villain is perfect.

I never saw the movie(s) that Airplane was spoofing before watching it, and I still thought it was hilarious. However, I will concede that today's spoof films requires more familiarity with the source material than older spoof films.
It was only now I realized Hawking getting pushed off the roof is a reference to the end of The Naked Gun where Nielsen did the same to OJ.
This movie is dumb as hell, but it still garners a laugh. Between the concept of superheroes and the great cast, it's the best of all the parodies that spawned from the Scary Movie formula.
I love how turned on Jill was getting by Rick just absolutely decimating those guys in the alley

The spoof movie genre took a huge dip in quality after the first few “scary movies” but this one actually cared about having a story. It was refreshing to have one that was more than just a collection of skits.
WEIRD, THE AL YAKOVIC STORY is hilarious with a ton of cameos. Daniel Radcliff is phenomenal. 🤞✌

Also Trump made jokes on Rosie O Donnel yet unlike here because it was Trump and there are those who look at anything he says with bias they naturally threw a fit. If you pay attention a ton of the things people throw a fit over today were jokes back in the day. People just cannot handle it. South park and the Simpsons are big on the outlandish jokes that came true. Including Trump becoming president.

If you find something said to you disrespectful sorry to hear that but they are allowed to have a voice. As long as no actions are being taken with that voiced opinion its fine. Its not like because Trump made a fat joke about Rosie she suddenly gained 20 lbs or was physically harmed in any way. Some people have trouble with this and start doing unnecesssary or harmful actions along side voicing their opinions.

This film is hilarious and drake bell did a fantastic job in this spoof and he voiced spider-man in ultimate spider man
I baited my mom as a kid to go see this movie in theaters because it had Drake Bell. She was absolutely flabbergasted 😂😂😂

It's kinda funny that you mention "not watching the movie it was spoofing before seeing the spoof movie" because I 100% watched Scary Movie before I watched Scream to the point that when I finally did watch Scream like what, 15 years later? Young Guns is one I'd love you guys to react to. And BEST OF THE BEST, the best Karate competition movie ever starring James Earle Jones as the Coach of Team USA, Eric Roberts and Chris Penn. Full of laughs, great fights great script....and an ending similar to how the end of Shawshank Redemption felt.

Funnily enough, I've not seen the Sam Raimi Spiderman trilogy despite the fact that I'm a Raimi fan and I own the movies. To be fair, I only bought them a few months ago and just haven't gotten around to watching them.
