Shane needs to be on more podcasts and TV shows as an analyst. He has such a high basketball IQ and has great stories. Fantastic interview Dray!
FOR SURE! Great speaker as well!
One of my favorite members of the championship winning Heat team. This man is a true professional. Every time he touched the court you just knew he was gonna do something big to help get the Win. Might be a huge stop, might be a huge 3, or a crucial steal. What a guy!
Love the love and respect Dray gave to Shane, hope we get to see Shane sometime as an analyst or just more often, seems like a great guy
What an impressive and nice guy. Thanks for the memories Shane.
I want more Shane, as an analyst or whatever.
Bruh his laughs get me every time 😂 he sounds like he's in a job interview 😅
Prime Yao was the most dominant player the NBA has ever seen.
Battier one of the best 3/D SF/PF of all time. A guy you wanted on your team, super underrated, and humble
Def not the most dominant
@@moneyman4740he went toe to toe with prime shaq in his rookie year
Lakers were going to lose to the rockets until Yao got hurt. Rockets took game 1 and still managed to get to game 7 without their top 2 players arguably the best duo at the time for 6 out of 7 games. Yao was going to have a Dirk like championship run. Young guys don’t realize just how underrated big fella was
@@Au66125 ok ? What numbers back up that he’s the most dominant ? He never avg 10 rpg more than twice or ever avg over 25ppg
You don't know what would've happened. Kobe lakers give them a run for there money during the season @Young-ep8ik
Heat legend Shane Battier 🔥 One of the most underrated 3 and D players man
Shane calling himself a bum ass power forward is comical lol. But he was so tough! A TRUE 3 and D player 🗣️
One of the smartest interviews especially speaking on the defense and the process, amazing!
Shane will always be underrated was a beast from Memphis 2 Miami🔥🔥
One of the GOAT defender
Shane is very articulate with controlled manner. He can be a great interviewer or perhaps a great vlogger.
He is a very successful businessman/consultant
Shane was so much fun to watch, I love IQ DEFENSE!
For Draymond to mention Klay as the second best player on the Warriors with his D-Wade LeBron analogy shows quite a bit of humility and self-awareness. With Klay's recent slippage aside, you could make a very strong argument that Draymond was their second best during their peak non-Durant years (2015, 2022).
He was. Draymond was the 2nd best warrior and Klay was the #2 option. Both can be true
@@Young-ep8ik I agree with you, but he specifically bowed down and called Klay their second best player which was cool to hear coming from him.
Fire interview
Class act Shane always been
I LOVE Shane Battier. It seemed that we were on the same schedule at the Blockbuster store in Durham during his Duke years.
Loved that segment in the beginning actually talking about basketball on the court. Would love more of that kinda stuff cuz people don’t know what they’re watching.
I always told people about McGrady’s passing. A true complete player
Kobe the 🐐
DG thank you for having my favorite player on the show, Rajabell next please.
My 14yo self was obsessed with Shane in March madness finals UMD vs. Duke 2 years in a row 00 and 01. And Juan Dixon on the MD team 😅
Couldnt agree more. Modern basketball tactics is based on probability and optimization. That said, whether or not a player can keep all those data and choice preferences in his head during live gameplay is a completely different question. Theres maybe only a handful of guys who can do that and Dray is certainly one of them.
Shane was clutch af from 3 fr. Wasn’t a bron fan at first, he used to serve plenty daggers
wow 19:30 - I was shocked too when Shane said TMac was a better passer than LeBron and DWade
shane thanks for those two chips with the heat...
Shane is the Dude, my guy from the 2012 title. One of the most under-rated and unfortunately disrespected. True winner!
Dubs had the game in hand and then just lost their minds. Like someone put something in the gatorade. Mis-executed in almost every aspect of the game. I know what it was, partly. Everyone was boo'd up with their ladies for Valentine's Day, wine in the veins, man juice depleted, about to hop on a plane. Then their is no Kawhi, Lue got tossed and PH fouls out. Time to relax! Well, refs swallowed their whistle on one end (predictable), ah, whatever. If there is one thing to focus on amid all the errors, it was poor rebounding. Bad blockout techniques and drifting out and not sucking back in. Then, a lack of aggression on top of it all. Sometimes the shell can be too tight. Powell rings up that corner 3 no doubt, but Coffey drives the nail in the coffin every night on league pass.
Way I see it, Utah is the lfirst game of the last 30. Utah is in trouble. Dubs will be out for blood.
Dubs greatest weakness? Arrogance, but a type in which they believe things will just go in their favor without paying great attention to details, from buzzer to buzzer. I hope the Dubs win the title, but if they don't, this will be the main reason. Everyone wants to blame Klay for that foul, but there were so many mistakes in the last 9 minutes, I wanted to smash my TV. They say they want to go until somebody beats them. Well, "yourself" is included, but not an actual team, so most don't include that one.
In the words of Gilbert Arenas, "I cook, but sometimes I burn the food" Details....Go Dubs!
Hey Dray if you reading this you should bring Shane back and have C Webb, Jalen, Magic come for a conversation of state legends of Michigan
Hated watching the heat and Shane during their run. But I enjoyed this podcast. very humble human being with a slight edge of cockiness like myself
Draymond whats up brother. Glad to see you advised Dunleavy not to trade JK for Lebron. Trading JK would be a massive mistake one that would haunt this franchise for the next 12-16 years. Very smart.
Excellent interview. Who's your daddy? Battier
Mr. TakeTheCharge himself
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Shane was an assassin…..smart as a whip
11:00 being mixed you definitely get treated differently by some people
Shane is a great defender even Kobe acknwldge his craft on playing D with no dirty play and antics unlike the interviewer who is not jst a dirty antics in the game but also a dirt looking human being
You sound whiney
Draymond you just got clamped by Norman Powell my guy
Best beer and best women is a hilarious anecdote
Draymond please join MMA!
Kobe is the GOAT
😂😂😂😂😂
This man said he grew up in Birmingham, but he was poor. If you’re from Michigan you know Birmingham is top 5 richest cities in the state. Stop the cap.
There was a poor(er) part of birmingham back in the 80's. I remember it was west of woodward between 14 & e. lincoln. also 15 and crooks area had some modest homes. i'm interested to know what neighborhood he lived in
@@cmorda Appreciate that information. I wasn’t around in the 80s
He is right if you can “for sure” guard the paint you will get playing time especially at the high school and college level nba is hard you gotta have the right tools or else you getting yammed on all night 😂 sucks
I've been telling people for years how Lebron doesn't pass into the player's shooting pocket quite often and that it can make it difficult for the shooter, I'm glad to see Battier confirm this. Anyone who's played basketball should know this. Remember when Lebron passed to Danny Green, it was like 3 feet right and at his ankles, he had to go from that position into a shooting motion, making the shot far more difficult.
Bet you hated to hear he choose lebron over Jordan
@@BlackPanther-nv2dy why would I hate that? That’s a subjective take from him, which has nothing to do with his objective takes. It is objectively bad to make passes too far right and at someone’s ankles.
Shanes connection to china is actually politically intereasting
Basketball ball players.. are not role models.. they do thing we don't know about
Draymond just D'lo'd Steph 😂😂😂
That shit did not work against Kobe 😭
He made Kobe work though, that whole series was an example of hard work and effort on the defensive end.
Kobe respected this guy. All you need to know
Talk about the L clippers handed you after you flexed ur 4 suspensions this season.
Only 500 likes SORRY
Clowns will be Clowns shane jus got added to the list. MJ played wit Cliff Levingston won 2 championship wit that man n that man averaged less then shane but shane will get on his knees for a player that payer his way to the goat debate
Zubac owns you 😂🤣🤡
How are you dray... Have you already pass your drugtest?
You been trash since kd left
You didnt deserve the second chance in the league
