got stabbed 11 times and still played 82 games. and we talking about load managing in this day and age
Pierce used ball as his escape because he loved hooping. Lot of players don’t love too hoop but they like money&fame that comes with it
Seriouslyy.... God bless
But in the leagues defense a lot of great players would’ve had longer careers if the league protected their assets the way they’re trying to. It’s way more money out there now compared to then you can’t be mad at them for trying to get the most out of their investments.
@@4olojones He got stabbed....... 11x.......
@@4olojonesnba came out and said there is no correlation between load managing and players health
Pierce is the most underrated player of his era because people think his career started with the Big 3. Bro was drafted in 98'.
I agree. Paul pierce is one of my favorite ten players.
I was never a C's fan...but watching P. Pierce play at that level all those years with a not-great roster around him, I always wished at some point he had the group of the same quality around him to be a real contender. And then when KG and Ray got there, watching them play...and I'm just...these guys play the right way, they play together, got a chance, glad to see it for PP, as well as KG & Ray. And got to the point of "yeah, I like this group..." and by the time they got to the playoffs, I'm "let's go C's!" And they had a fabulous run...& PP showed he ACTUALLY WAS the guy on the highest stage that I thought/hoped he was.
No because he played in Boston and believed in himself
If anything he became overrated after winning. Paul Pierce proved that he could not carry a team consistently to the playoffs even when playing with another all star. Great scorer of course, but he was not a great playmaker not a great defender. He was a bit one dimensional and was easily the most replacable in the boston big 3.
@@Young-ep8ik he consistently did carry a team to the playoffs. He played for Boston for 15 seasons & went to 10 playoffs. From 02-13 he missed the playoffs twice.
They gotta put some respect on Pierce. He was 25 ppg in an era when only a few was at that level. CONSISTENTLY 🔥🔥
Yess consistently! Im a celtics fan. Not Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum who is not consistently!
I really fucking loved this interview. Changed my view of Paul Pierce with everything he’s gone through in his life
LeBron and Pierce matchups were legendary!
@@mentalprograming5365 Facts!
It seems like most people purposely forget Pierce vs LeBron 2004-2010.
And then act surprised that LeBron said Paul is his biggest rival.
08 playoffs was epic
Kobe vs pierce was
@@Vito_Caligiuri facts
Paul Pierce's "bag of tricks" is one of the best. Superior mid-range game. All-time favorite
No Pierce was never on the talent level of Kobe but as a Celtics fan, people outside of Boston don't understand that for a long stretch of time that spanned over a decade, Pierce was OUR Kobe. Pierce was always a player that when you needed a clutch shot or a game winner, it felt like he would always come through. He was the best small forward in the NBA until a few years into LeBron and Melo's career. Always will be a Celtics legend. Salute to the Truth and this was a solid interview.
I personally think he was a better player than Melo. Just because you're not at LeBron or Kobe's level doesn't mean you're trash. Pierce was a tier below those guys and theres nothing wrong with that
Facts i remember he was on NBA inside drive 2001 for xbox great game@@upgradeyourmindset3265
Yeah, during that time, Pierce was to Boston what Kobe was to LA, what T-Mac was to Orlando, what Vince was to Toronto, what AI was to Philly, what Ray Allen was to Seattle. Those matchups were fire during those years.
really reminds you of jimmy butler, just a clutch menace who was never scared of any opponent
Hes was pretty close. Im not even a celtics fan tho. Kobe had more circus shots but paul was nice for sure.
Everyone is tuning in for that ONE topic😂😂
🗣“They don’t love you like that”
Foreal dawg 🤣 I saw Draymond green and Paul Pierce I was like nah I've got to check it
and they went directly into it 1 minute in 😂
You thought you was Kobe?
Facts 😂
Paul Pierce is one of those rare NBA veterans whose doing well and it is good to see a Black Man in older age doing well
Facts
Paul got the Finals MVP trophy in the frame. Oh yeah baby, my favorite player. ROCK CHALK.
W Paul Pierce the legend man. Idc he’s an all time great!
Didn't know that Paul didn't hear draymond ...that just made the story even more funny 😂
Wat was said on microphone
@@princesamuels5981 it’s not hard to find with a search. Not trying to be an asshole but it’s way better to watch the clip rather than read it through a comment.
As a Celtic fan, there will never be another PP and that's the truth! They should make a biopic on this man!
Wish Tatum could hit them clutch shots like PP used to. Paul Pierce has more walk off game winners than anyone. Jordan and Kobe combined. He was the ultimate clutch player.
Is that right? I remember him hitting that elbow pull up jumper constantly in late game winning spots, but didn't realize he had more than mj and Kobe combined! That's crazy
Hey now don't be doing Payton Pritchard like that
Tatum or brown not even close to paul pierce bro, they don't have that it factor
@@Coffeendonutsfacts!’ When we had the last shot it was like we knew he would hit the shot lol. Even if they sent help he would just shoot it before they got there. He could shoot from anywhere and he had that step back. Luka and Pierce have similar scoring style, it’s this slower pace mixed with a bunch of hesitation moves and using your weight to creat space. Pierce was stronger than he looked. Rarely ever got blocked and he wasn’t very athletic. I watched him put that team on his back for years!! We always made playoffs even if it was 8th seed and we competed. That’s all we ask for as fans, we know our team wasn’t ready to win it all yet. Just go out there and give it your all, what do you got to lose?!
Solid interview. Respect to both.

The ad placement right before Pierce tells his side of the story 😂😂😂
Cliff hanger 😂😂😂
PAUL PIERCE THE MOST UNDERRATED MAN. THE FUCKN TRUTH!!!!
This is going to be fucking incredible. The Truth is in the building!
Tatum is more talented, but he'll never have the heart and/or balls that Pierce had. Getting pantsed by Artest and putting a side-step 3 in his eye is an underrated legendary highlight. Dude was cold blooded
Man getting stabbed 11 times ain't no joke. It takes some metal to power through all that go on win a ring. Hell fucking yeah this man's the TRUTH! 34
No lie this is drays best interview
The Truth slander always blew my mind. One of the most underrated and under appreciated players the game has seen. Great podcast from DG
They have to diminish all of LeBron's opponents to make Kobe/Jordan better. I always love that Celtics squad even though I rooted for LeBron. Those matchups were some of the greatest in the 2000s.
Good shi Dray glad you and Paul could chop it up we needed this 💯
WHAT??? This is the duo that I didn’t think I needed!! This is fantastic!! 🤣😂 Two legends right there!!
2.30am watching draymond green show .in Australia 🇦🇺
No work got knee surgery . Feel like a bum .not grinding
Draymond always give me hope and inspiration 🙏
Wishing a speedy recovery!
THEY DON’T LOVE YOU LIKE THAT😂 shoutout truth he really one of them ones made big shots went at it with the best of them
Love and respect to both of these dudes. Legends of the game.
PP - As a Celtics fan, LOVE the Truth. He gave us so much and was SUCH a killer. Only haters and casuals try discredit what a PROBLEM the Truth was. As Draymond said, 'at the end of the day, you don't get a nickname like the Truth if you ain't NICE.'
Draymond - I always say I judge whether someone knows the game or not on what they think of Draymond as a player. Those of us who know the game inside out, know Draymond's value and that GS don't win ANY of those championships without him. A defensive genius, a push the pace big who can orchestrate your offense. He's 1 of 1. Again, only haters and casuals disrespect Draymond. He's a 1st ballot HOFer
Tha Truth and Tha Play Maker
Been wanting this! Not really because of the trash talk, because already heard Paul’s explanation .. but i just think these 2 together would be hilarious just chopping it up..
Paul is great with KG. Listening to them talk here brought a new perspective for me though. I thought there was some beef but it was just shit talking.
The Truth is really the “Truth”💯
Started off as a C’s fan til I realized my hometown had a team in like 09. It’s crazy that one my top 5 all time was born in the town like me. The truth don’t get enough respect.
Big-ups to Paul Pierce for his candor . Love you man !!
'you know what im talking about' a.k.a Jordan Poole🤣🤣🤣
Wow, none of knew that neither Paul or Draymond couldn't hear the other person. An incredible bow to tie up this story. I loved Paul asking about when Draymond is retiring and the laughs they had about that potential future.
Wow - both men are outstanding people, you can just tell from this conversation. Respect to Dreymond for inviting Paul Pierce, and big respect to Paul Pierce for sharing his story with us all. Personally, I did not grow up in the hood - not at all. So after hearing his narrative, it really opened my mind up to what it might be like to be in his position. A very important story to be told, and very important message. Thank you sir. Very inspired.
Boston thanks Paul Pierce, one on the best to suit up in the Garden ❤
Love this man.. Grew up idolizing Paul. Just wish he got his flowers more bc he was really that guy.
Paul p a real one met him Houston he was down to earth
lol he’s producer showed love and he was like yea anyway ask drey about the game plan on Jalen brown..😅😅

One of the best interviews, the chemistry between paul and dray was awesome who would of thought

Very good interview. Glad you guys chopped it up and had a great conversation.
Would never thought this can ever go down .. Cool shit .. Nice to see two dudes just chatting organically... Given their history...
Great mf convo wow. Loved the hood talk and all the behind the scenes Ray Allen info
This was great! Definitely one of my favorites
Absolutely loved this pod. Just a couple dude kicking it and keeping it real.
Thank you Draymond Green for bringing up rondo people don't know how special that point guard is only real ones know about him 💯💯
Love you Dray. Real appreciative warriors fans ain’t quit on you

Appreciate dray for this! The TRUTH must be told! Shoutout to PP ❤
This legendary’ 2 legends 2 of the realest’ ayo man now I remember unc chasing that fair well tour
Draymond and Paul Pierce both were villains so they would both get Booed but they were/are great competitors and the game will miss Dray when he’s gone like the game missed the Paul Pierce’s and KGs today
I was waiting for this episode patiently 😊 finally!!
Dray a real one for this. Truth brought a lot of good memories to Boston 🍀
Loved this conversation! Gotta hear more about that Hood to the League conversation. That is needed.
“They don’t love you like that “
One of the best ones yet!!!
Fire interview with a legend
Love this interview dray having the best conversation out here on these platforms
I grew up watching NBA late 90’s and The truth is badman!
Two of my faves … love this interview 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah!!! Let’s go! 😂 needed this one. Game recognize game.
Needed this one, much appreciated 🙏

Straight to it. no foreplay 😂
Great interview, I really enjoyed it!
Thia interview is so dope 💯
the mutual respect between these to is amazing. love to see it!
Great interview with the Truth! 🏀 Paul you getting Draymond all worked up at the end about that game lol😂
Great interview!
This was so dope!
Definitely gotta talk about the you ain’t Kobe thing cause now it takes a lot of respect from Pierce. Especially for the younger fans who caught Pierce career at the end. Ppl always disrespect Pierce cause of that moment.
Ppl disrespect him because he was a legitimate competitor and rival against LeBron and Kobe.
Although most Kobe fans acknowledge it, a lot of LeBron fans dismiss him like he was nothing.
LeBron fans purposely ignore that LeBron himself said Paul is his biggest rival.
Great interview fr
Great convo. Respect
The Truth up in here!!!! Loving this!!!
Dray, I have never been a Warriors fan, but this channel has damn sure made me a fan, of you and the team.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Celtics/Mavs fan, and the Nugs are quickly becoming a fav as well, but I am loving this channel man.
👏👏
Pierce is one of the best interviews going right now, he's so good at telling stories and giving you inside info you never heard. Totally underrated as a player too, Shaq didn't give him that nickname for nothing.
This was classic! Salute!
Ohhhhg shit I was not expecting this!! 🔥🔥🔥
Dope show 🔥🔥
This was actually a super dope conversation
My Dad was a big fan of Paul Pierce, any time we hooped he would yell “The Truth!”
Great build Dray and Truth !!
