  • Allyn and Hunter show how to install the new QBSTA spare tire sub in a Chevy Bolt EUV.
    The install is very straight forward. Power, ground and rca or high level input from the head unit.
    You need a 4 gauge amp kit.
    We recommend the XKIT42
    nvx.com/collections/amplifier...
    We also used some sound damper material in the trunk. This is optional but is a beneficial addition to the install.

    This 11" 300w rms subwoofer is the best offered for maximum bass that's also hidden away.
    Fits in your spare tire compartment! Also quickly unplugs if you need to access the tire
    Check it out, available now on our site!

      Seriously, no one I know has ever heard of nvx. I'm the only one in my neighborhood anyway driving around with nvx equipment and bragging about it, and people have no idea what I'm talking about.
      If you guys would get active on CZcams and Twitter and such, word would spread that there is a company called nvx selling car audio equipment.
      If this is something that nvx might actually consider doing, I am absolutely willing to help in any way I can. I love car audio and believe that more people should be made aware that a company called NVX actually exists.

    I like the way your sound deadening looks. I like that it has the 3 layers already but it may not be enough. I definitely would like to use something this small in the 91 miata spare. Non amplified to keep the space since it's small already.

      It would work great! You will also be surprised at the output of the subwoofer.

    I have a 1986 Toyota truck (mini styel3) with the small X-cab that has a shelf across the back with 6 to 7 inches clearance off the floor. It's not flat for some insane reason. Been looking at under seat 10" subs and most seem to get marginal reviews on sound quality and output. Thought a 11 to 12 inch 'spare tire' sub that is self enclosed might provide more bass. It will fit under the shelf and behind the driver seat.
    So, do you think this sub would function well as an interior sub?

      This is all together a great sounding subwoofer for sure, although I have never seen it used as you are describing. I would say give it a shot and let us know!

    Is there a mounting option that doesn't include that big plastic cone that the stud goes through? That thing is way too tall. How about something that is flush with the top of the subwoofer

    How many boxes of deadening did you use for this project?

    I just purchased this what's the deal with the red wire on the RCA input side ? Does that only have to be connected to 12 volt side to use the RCA jacks ?

  • @daguru5459
    @daguru5459 Před 2 dny

    Oof. Is there any other way to get a signal tapped in? At least in the 2017 bolt, the wiring harness is pulled so tight that I can't even fit a wire in between the signal cables coming out the back of the radio. You have a good few inches in the video but mine is only .5-1" of free space to tap into.
    Does the subwoofer need signal to power on? I've wired it up exactly as you have in the video but the power light doesn't come on. I also tried playing an ipod on the rca jacks. Still nothing.

      This has been a topic of discussion and it is possible that we may do an unamplified version.

    You might want to take a look at the manual to your sub, there are many mistakes in it such as conflicting fuse sizes and mislabeled controls.

    Where did you get the remote wire for to power it?

    • @derrickgonzalez3618
      @derrickgonzalez3618 Před 19 dny +3

      The pre amp in the subwoofer has its auto remote feature where when it detects sound through the inputs to the amp so when you play music it automatically bridges its power to the remote so you need not worry about a remote wire running through your car

      Under the carpet, we did not feel that part was needed as people may do this differently. Like the saying goes, there is more than one way to fillet a fish.

    • @nighttow8780
      @nighttow8780 Před 2 měsíci

      That's strange, why wouldn't you just take out the spare tire and put it on? Sure you'd have to remove the subwoofer, but it's not that hard

    • @nighttow8780
      @nighttow8780 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Wait a minute, you realize you don't have to get rid of the spare tire to use this device. You simply turn the spare tire upside down and the subwoofer goes inside of it.
