The HP Omen X looks like a beast. HP style of Alienware. Meanwhile, I have a 7567 gaming. Got it for 700. What a beast that thing is. A gtx 1080 laptop for less than 2000 is pretty good IMO.
I just got one and paid $2,500. This beats anything I ever played and my last laptop was an MSI I put over $3,000 into. Once in a while the fans kick in or I hear some sound, but it is so insignificant compared to other laptops that is close to doing what this beast does. Excellent review and I fully agree. HP has finally done it!!!!

Got my Omen X. So happy. Right out the box I undervolted the cpu using the omen command center to 33x and now the cpu temperatures during BF1 stays around 82-85 degrees. Everything I read those are good temps. Best keyboard you can get. Im coming from dell 7677
My Omen is just over I year, I purchased brand new..I got great price demo model, bought in box, everything, perfect condition. Its awesome. Except dont like the heavy thick power cable right side & every finger print..alway wiping....Only thing is Im not a Gamer at all. Never played not once played in my 52 yr life. I probably not stop if I started. I remember a kid hooked on 7ft machine, Space envaders...always at shops playing hahaha.....hey dont laugh...trust me you will be soon 50, feels like last week. Sounds old to say but Lifes is short. Anyway I must be a gamer subconsciously, I didnt know my omen was designed mainly for gamers. I just immediately wanted it, cause hate flimsy light cheap crap for necessary items or anything. Felt the sturdy tough heavy quality, plus looks like serious business.....but get this....a couple months back I bought myself a awesome black red stripe matching very heavy duty comfy chair, I thought its time I got myself a proper desk office chair..it swivels, up down, around, back, front, arm rest, up down, head rest, does everything, looks great black & heavy solid but easy to move about. I lay back & snooze...couple times all night 8 hrs. Anyway a friend came over to mine & told me ...its a gaming chair...I laughed.. I didnt know that either. So I got all the gaming gear except no Games....& know nothing bout them.. ....maybe someone might suggest something suit me, briefly..Im a Builder & Electrician, luv designing, Into buying very old rundown properties, homes, whatever for good price in gd areas or areas on the rise... Old places wrecked but still recoverable to rescue, restoration back to original but with modern sophisticated upgrade, wiring, plumbing, with stylish new kitchen/s bathroom/s that suit the old style look....So want some type 3D software to design, construct & reconstruct, add & subtract altering rooms, and to scale. So I measure tye actual to fit to construct & turn into reality. Ive paid draughtsmen & I think Id do a better job. Many have done only the theory side to contruct, no practical on job years experience, which gives them a draughting engineering licence needed, but no physical practical experience knowledge, that is more essential as long as you know the basic natural ratio math... Cheers I write and draw by hand atm...Sorry I know Im on gaming channel with a difference. This would be gaming to me, Id luv something like I just discribed....If anyone knows something that may suit, Id appreciate...I tried one time a online design thingy but it was crap....
Really appreciate your video especially since I've been waiting for a good HP omen x review , if u had showed the pre programmed lighting modes it would've been perfect. But even now it was great 👍👍👍👍. Why not do another in depth video on the omen software

One of the main reasons I bought this laptop is that the power plug is on the side, as you cant use a laptop on your lap when the power plug is on the back (yes I use a 10 pound notebook on my lap)
Which according to you should be the best customizations for this laptop for better results that will be almost every thing you need for gaming not for overkill ? Like as in I'll like to have one with i7 7820hk and 512gb SSD other things being the same.

great review. I couldn't get this one just because the numeric keypad doesn't have the full Zero key, and its really annoying if you work with accounting and excel.
I found a 7820hk/gtx1080 version, with ddr4 2800mhz for $1,795 That should boost frames an additional 10-20 at 1080p. This is a steal. Going to school for 3 years in graphics programming hope it holds uo.

Depends where you live, Europe has high voltage wall outlets(200-300) while North America only has 120. Although you can request a higher voltage outlet from your city

Those temperature are everything but not impressive. 85C GPU meant that the GPU was throttling, but I can see that there are some power issues in the bios as well so the GPU was also power throttling and the vbios lowered voltage down to 0.950mv. You don't mention CPU temps, but seeing the GPU temp I assume the CPU was around 90C after your Witches 3 gameplay and that is 2C from throttling. But maybe it was 93C and the CPU was already throttling (turning turbo on/off to decrease temps). You probably saw stuttering but thought it is because the game's engine (which is notorious to cause micro stuttering). It seems this is another laptop which needs to be repasted with liquid metal to get acceptable temps. A shame that HP won't even allow custom fan speed like MSI. Long story short, the price is good, but out from the box this machine is an overheating and throttling paper weight. You need to take it apart and repaste is to get acceptable temps. Only buy this if you don't mind taking apart your brand new machine and risking voiding warranty.

There is also a 1080p 144Hz IPS-level panel option (should be the same as in the Asus G703VI that mysteriously vanished from the market).

GTX 1080 still good for 1080p gaming, CPU is okay but more games will utilize more cores as time goes by

My left fan only comes on at around 64C the right fan goes up and down like a normal fan should. Is this normal.
