This whole setup is based on a Lenovo laptop, I am using a Lenovo g50-70 and Gtx 760 Graphics card as an example. But you can install it on any laptop with the correct settings and compatibility. Below are some settings for different laptops brand:

I tried to do this set up a while back before I just ended up building a desktop. If only I had known about disabling the PXE Boot to LAN. Fantastic tutorial nonetheless, and though it doesn't help me much now, the presentation was on point. Wish I had seen this a few years back. Well done.

@@ajadler1629 Short answer: no. In theory its good idea but in reality ull have to find the perfect GPU match for your laptop. My friends never had the ones i needed so i could test it and i didn't wanted to waste money on buying used ones just to find out it ll not work. Even though i tested one GPU from the list and it didn't work. So i just gave up on gaming on laptop lol

hi, i followed your videos and was inspired. i have a lenovo g580 with 3rd gen i7, upgraded to 16 gb ram & connected a rtx 2070 super and results were amazing. i got 100 to 80 fps on an external monitor on ultra hd settings. just a tip, dont disable pxe setting in the bios, just disable the switchable graphics.

damn i was expecting the comments to have some input on anyone trying this and it being successful but it seems like everyone is obsessed with how he’s indian and how well we can understand him and how good of a video it is, so i’m try it and i’ll update this comment. I bought this gpu bc i was planning on building a pc but the rona happened and i’m put in a certain situation so i’ve put a hold to that but i still have the gpu and i have a laptop for now and i want a cheap option to go about it so ima try this if anyone has done this and have any pros and cons to share i’d be very grateful.

Alright guys it works but it doesn't look too good and your gonna have to plug your laptop into your Ethernet cable, honesty though I think it's better to just save your money and sell your laptop to buy a newer one cause any real upgrades GPU wise are gonna cost over $300.

laptops are good for portability and if u wanna sit in one place and game for all day in the same price as a i3 4gb ram laptop for normal work if u pay a little bit like 50-100 dollars more u can build a pc with 8gb or 16gb a 2gb vram graphics card or 4gb vram like 1050 ti or rx 570 and gt 1030 and a i5 or ryzen 5 with 4 cores or 6 cores

Pro Tip: ditch the optical drive - no one uses it anymore - and pass the cable inside it (you will need to remove the entire back plastic cover). You can also store the cable inside it when you're out and about with your laptop. Remove the optical drive's plastic cover and with a bit of imagination use it to cover the hole while not using the eGPU. Thank me later.
