This performance was the absolute highlight of a memorable concert. Unfortunately, my eyes were full of tears, so I could hardly see anything. But thanks to Nightwish, there is the video.
The tear thing !! I sympathize so much. We going to watch Nightwish in Berlin on 9th June and we flying all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦. I told my wife that most probably I’m not going to watch anything. The minute Floor walks on stage I’m going tear up. 😅 and yes my wife say Floor is my other girl.

@@gene6690 Actually, it's completely crazy to sit on a plane for 10 hours for a concert - but for Nightwish I also travel everywhere as long as my bank account allows it.I see Nightwish already on June 6th in Stockholm and on June 17th in Vaasa. Hank has been taking his metal vocal lessons seriously haha. His growl has definitely improved since zangers.
I first saw Floor and Henk on the Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers" and was very impressed. Henk is a Dutch opera and musical singer. One of his most important roles was "Eric" in the Dutch version of Phantom of the Opera.
Floor once said that Henk Poort is one of her idols

Nightwish as a band had not played this song in 17 years, since the final show with Tarja, released on the "End of an Era" DVD, recorded in 2005....and the audience was unaware that they were going to do it, and the appearance of Henk Poort who played the Phantom in Dutch musical theatre for 20 years) was unannounced, so, got you twice....Floor held that final E6 for 12 seconds; she's Christine with attitude, not subservience....her breath control is supernatural......this was the first time I ever saw Floor visibly having to catch her breath.....

Great reaction. This is a different arrangement from what they used on Beste Zangers and her solo shows. More operatic and metal. It is the original Nightwish arrangement that they used with their first singer Tarja and Marko. Checkout their performance from the End of an Era concert with most metal Phantom ever.
Not true. Beste Zangers actually did use the Nightwish arrangement, since Floor asked Tuomas if she could use it.
I remember reading all about that back in November 2019, when the original Floor Phantom duet with Henk happened on Beste Zangers.
@@isaiahwelch8066 Yes they used the Nightwish arrangement as the baseline but changed it for the show to make it less metal. The pacing in the beginning is faster and less dramatic and more musical theater.. Floor was also using a more contemporary/musical theater style of vowel shape and was using more of the colors in her voice. Here she is rounding her vowels to get that darker more operatic voice that better suits this more metal style of this arrangement. I like both performances but they are very different IMO.
For some reason I love her singing better when she goes full metal belting. This hybrid style is not for me, even though she still sings it beautifully and slays the last note. It's just a matter of personal taste, I think
And I like it better if Christine and the Phantom have that clear, bittersweet contrast.
Next do the same from Nightiwish' End Of The Era with Tarja and Marco. Cool cool cool.
