      You are right if bigger companies started putting more effort into 12 fives a especially with new emission laws they could make a killing and they could pump out some absolutely brilliant 14 to 15 horse power motorbikes. But to be honest UK laws need to change as there are a lot of 450 CC bikes but only produce about 14 to 15 horse power anyway so it should go on horse power not engine size

    I have a G1 and it’s a great bike.
    Regarding the crash bars, they work.
    Some massive clot reversed into mine and knocked it over. The crash bar took all the brunt so I had no damage elsewhere. Really did it’s job so I’d leave them as they are. 👍🏻

    Just bought one (in Spain) in yellow. First ride on it (test drive), I had so much fun I didn't want to bring it back! It's incredible fun, way more powerful and better equipped than anything even close to it on price. Quality of all components, plastics and metals all look and feel top notch. Would even say that the brakes and gearchange are smoother than the smaller cylinder Hondas and...who else has a slipper clutch at this price point or cc?! Engine/exhaust sound, definitely not discreet, but doesn't sound like a 125. Time will tell regarding reliability, but a 2 year guarantee helps.

      Bought mine 4 months ago. As much as I love the bike itself and how it rides, I'm afraid I must say that QC checks at Zontes have let me down big time. After just 3 months of use the coil went bust. Luckily the warranty helps but still have been out of my work transport for a week.

  • @AdmV0rl0n
    @AdmV0rl0n Před 3 lety +11

    The bike has a good mix. Its relatively well made by initial looks, its well thought out. It has good power/perf (assuming the figures hold up). I always feel bikes are over priced now - but £3000 is a good price by market. The one thing that motorsforthemasses used to cover in their reviews that they seem to have dropped is a section on service intervals and servicing - which bottom line is and always will be the biggest pain in the arse about motorcycles. Previous, some Chinese bikes had very short service intervals.
    I rode (several) GS125S for years, just changed the oil, and on and on they went.

    Well first of all it's super nice to see a reviewer say "well this bike is new, so we can't really check the speed" geez most don't care and they push it to the limit. Feel sorry for the person who buys that bike!!
    In the past I would have not looked at a Chinese bike! But obviously after so much positive PR and the folks who have had one for a spell are super happy with them. I have personally check into "All" of the information on who makes them, quality control etc. And most impressive the company "Tayo" has 256 patentes!!! In engineering, science, and more! Over all very pleased after finding out that there's nothing out there that comes close to this G1 125 Scrambler!!
    I get mine in two weeks, can't wait!!
    Extremely excited!!!

  • @amneverin
    @amneverin Před 2 lety +1

    Just bought one. For the money, the spec is great. Slipper clutch, very smooth and easy gear changes, ABS (none of this linked braking nonsense.. which in my humble opinion is unsafe… living somewhere where the roads are usually wet, cold and often covered in diesel.. do not want the front locking up). Gear indicator (good for learners), backlit controls and more importantly push to cancel indicators. LEDs all round. Bar end mirrors are often aftermarket on a lot of bikes but standard on this … and give great visibility. Crash protection comes as standard and I like it .. but easily removed if preferred. Looks great too. Tubeless spoked wheels are rare in this class and price range. Quality seems good but reliability … only time will tell.

  • @Jaffa1951
    @Jaffa1951 Před 3 lety +7

    The crash protection might be a dilemma, but it's a dilemma that doesn't happen on most bikes because they are aftermarket options. Zontes are coming out with some nice bikes. I was already impressed with the 310x and the 310t. And, now, I like the look of this one, although I don't think I'd buy a 125.

  • @ofernaud

    Video very well done. Simply fantastic. Your english accent is very easy to understand for foreigners like me. About the Seat height I would like to add something important: Zontes G1 125 seat is 830mm tall, however in Zontes U, Seat height is 790mm. I wanted to buy G1, but I'm 1,69 cm tall, and I can not reach the floor with both feet very well. If there is a slope, plus 150kg, if you can not reach the ground, you Will probably fall off if you try to move the bike. Im sad about that, probably I Will buy the U125, instead of this one. What a pity, It looks amazing, I tried It and is very confortable to ride.

    Bought mine 4 months ago, had a long thought which to get, G1 or U1. In the end after watching many reviews and sitting on both of them at the dealership I went for the Scrambler for the simple reason, U and U1 aren't tall people friendly. It's a bit awkward to change gears on them compared to G1 where u sit a bit further back.
    I must say there are 2 things that I DO NOT like about this bike though.
    1. Needs a better rear mud guard, my backpack and jacket are constantly covered in dirt.
    2. Had a great honour of being probably the 1st owner in UK who's coil went up in smoke after 3 months of use (just over 800 miles on the clock), thankfully the warranty took care of that.
    Except those 2 issues, I absolutely love this bike

    Probably commented here before I bought one but it warranted a re-watch. On the crash protection - the bungs help when your front slides out on ice! However, the exhaust/exhaust cover sticks out about 2cm too far from the bike body so that doesnt get saved by the bungs/bars i'm afraid. Still - amazing bike!

Whent for a drive and the light turned back on after a few km's. So far it's just the light that has come on and for the moment no other problems. But it's not nice to have a bike with 310 km's with such problems even when i dont take over 5500 rmp like they discribe in the user manual for the first 500km. How do you compare this bike to Mondial HPS 125? Im about to get my first bike and these are my 2 options for now, I mean a 2021 (used) Mondial an this one. I like the looks of Mondial better, but then again for the same price I could get a new Zontes… any thoughts?

    Cross-spoke wheels on such a cheap bike. That's amazing. And overall, this seems to have some quality components. The lock-guard on the ignition is commonplace on scooters and Honda Waves etc. in Southeast Asia.

    Nice bike , Be good if they did another paint choice other than just black, yellow/black be nice or British Race green ect, I like the look with just sliders I think that is best look, But I think it looks good with them too and I would keep them for extra protection. I like the 1st Zontes better, I think that is a fantastic machine for the price, Wish they had 125's like this when i was buying them.

    Hi, loved the video and the bike looks great and seems to perform as well as it looks.
    I am seriously interested in this bike but I'm concerned about dealer back up and parts etc as it appears sketchy here in the UK from what I've seen online.
    I'm 50 and this will be my first bike so I don't want it to sat in the garage waiting for parts etc.
    Also I can't find any info on servicing intervals either.
    Any way you could point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
    Thx in advance

    Chinese bikes are catching up really quickly just like the Japanese did . The crash protection l like that you have options it's a scrambler so bars and bungs for the green lanes and bungs for the road . It'd be great with a bigger engine maybe 250/300cc

    Man, Zontes is making the best small bikes by far, all the others look terrible compared to this one. And I want to say, it looks great with the bars protecting the fairing and all that, looks industrial, looks tough, it doesn't look like a bike that wants to look like a princess, looks like it's a bike ready for everything, purpose before anything else. Another thing is, there is a yellow model that looks gorgeous.
