Food Shopping in Lanzarote (Where locals shop)

We take you to the three supermarkets we use to do our weekly shop in Lanzarote. As you’ll see, Mike normally does the cooking, rather than the shopping, so his eyes were opened!

Thanks for this. We always like to look around supermarkets even though we need to buy very little when abroad. Friends and family think we're crazy. Love the different country items in Lidl which we have here too.

We tend to go to the Mercado and Hyper Dino in Playa Honda for big shops (free parking) or the Mercado at SOCO in PdC for smaller shopping as it’s near where we stay. Also Lidl in PdC is a great place.

When we are in PDC we always enjoy the paella from the Mercadona there. We also have a small supermarket next to our Aparthotel with a good wine selection as well for a good price point. Missed this in Playa Blanca this year.

Great to see how the different supermarkets are arranged etc. I think they’re all in Arrecife? If Lidl ever gets built in Playa Blanca, what will be great!

Yes, all Arrecife, but the good news is the Lidl in Playa Blanca is coming along now - walls are starting to go up!

@@LanzaroteInformation that’s good to hear. When we were there a couple of weeks ago it was still just a big flat square. Some competition for the Dino stores will be good.
