    John, I have what looks like the same spring compressor you have, and I used it a different way that also worked pretty well. I put the threaded end inside the sprin so it was pointed up, put the spring in place in the subframe, then put a couple greased up washers on the threaded rod, dropped it down through the shock hole and threaded it into the threaded piece. Then I just screwed the rod into the lower piece and compressed the spring until I could get the lower A-arm up far enought the get the knuckle atttached. Hope I explained it so you could understand. Using this method, I only had to fish one piece out of the spring.
    Great video!

      A way around that is a contest drawing with one chance for every $5.00 they spend on merchandise bought but you would have to start selling merch first. That's the way around those pesky regulations because you're not selling lottery tickets, you're selling tee shirts, hoodies, sweat shirts, stickers and such and the contest is just a bonus for someone buying merch anyway.
      So even if someone doesn't win they still get a tee shirt, key chain or something they buy. But to be safe, make sure there are no contest regulations that they can come after you with. In other words call a lawyer to confirm to cover your but.
      Grind Hard Plumbing Company yt channel did that with a few items but I think they're in Montana so...?

    The steering box made me wonder if there is a mounting difference between the manual steering box, and the power steering box. Also curious why you're installing drum brakes, when disc brakes are more simple in both installation and operating. Is there a difference in radiator braces for the different years of Nova and the different engines? I've heard there is, but since you have so many of these cars, I figured I'd ask because of that knowledge.

    • @Shop209
      @Shop209  Před 2 lety

      The steering box mounts the same if it’s manual or power. The pitman arm is specific. I’m running drum breaks because when this project started I bought all new drum brake parts. Knowing that discs would be more expensive and harder to find a deal on. The radiator support did change some between engines. There’s a big block specific radiator support and also one for HD cooling on 73/74. Then the standard one and maybe another variation. Thanks!
