      Thanks.
      Yes they definitely enjoy all of these projects I do, my son helped the most and my youngest was there to keep us entertained and brighten up any monotonous tasks that are usually involved in these kinds of projects.
      Do check out my latest videos as the room has changed quite a bit since this but I’m planning on posting an update video soon with the entire home theatre as we’ve now had lots of usage out of it and Friday/Saturday movie nights is now a tradition for us.
      Oh and I’d really appreciate it if you subscribed to the channel and help me grow this so I can bring more videos like this 👍🏽

      My day job requires patience and I think I have ocd anyway so that helps get things like this done 😂

    After watching the official Hisense video on the installation, the screen should appear dark grey when looking at it, not white. If its whitish, that means its actually upside down. And you can confirm this with a flashlight as light shining down on the screen should mostly be blocked, but shining up from the bottom should mostly be visible. Just though I would pass this along as I'm about to install my 120" screen as well with my new L9H model projector. But this video was great and thanks for the tips about the middle brackets.

    • @MATechYoutube
      @MATechYoutube  Před 9 měsíci

      I definitely mentioned this in at least one of my videos as I remember recording a clip where I showcase shining a light from both directions.
      I seem to recall I also tried to showcase how even just the material of the screen has a slight rainbow effect when looking very close up to it.

    Going to get the 100inch L9G soon, Do the screen brackets need to go into studs, or is it all light enough to sit in dry wall with anchors?.. either way i have a stud finder and anchors, so fully prepared.

    • @MATechYoutube
      @MATechYoutube  Před 2 lety

      Better off putting it on studs, it’s light enough but you never want to trust drywall as you will make adjustments on the bracket to get it straight and also for alignment so you want a sturdy mount.

    So, interesting development. My L9G 100" got delivered today, it's being installed on Monday, but I've read somewhere that it needs acclimatising in the room it will be in, so I unpacked it. And the screen is totally different to every one I've seen on CZcams. The frame is in 7 pieces, not 5, and the screen is tensioned with long grub screws that screw through the inside of the frame, rather than springs. The screen says it is a 100inch ALR, but unlike every screen on CZcams that I've seen, this says it is a 1.3 Gain screen, not a 0.4 gain which all others seem to be. The kit that ships with the projector is also different from what I've seen. There is only 1 remote control, the full feature one, and no basic one. It also comes with the feet clamps, (two semi circles with adhesive backing) which I thought only the US ones got. It also comes with several cables as well. I obviously won't get to play with it until Monday (28-11-22), so won't be able to say if any software is different. It still says it is Vidaa powered, so unfortunately no Android TV.

    • @MATechYoutube
      @MATechYoutube  Před rokem

      It’s just the new screen as I believe Hisense are preempting issue where the screen begins to sag or lose tension and they just wanted a simpler option for people.
      Regarding the gain, only the cinema models have the .4 gain screen, normal model won’t as yours is intended for height room viewing.
      I also only got a single remote and I also got the feet clamps but haven’t used them as the unit doesn’t move once placed down anyway.

    • @HOMEAROMAS
      @HOMEAROMAS Před rokem

      @@MATechCZcams "The unit doesn't move", I have an incredibly heavy handed 4 year old, the unit will move for me.
      Interesting that we also only get 1 remote over here. So we pay more and get considerably less. I'm used to being ripped off price wise, paying in pounds what something cost in dollars, but at least the spec is usually identical, but this is just a complete con.
      So the screen. Your reply has two parts. The frame you think is a new design to prevent sagging. I'll count myself very lucky to have that then, and say I didn't realise that was an issue. And I also didn't know the second part to your response, that only the cinema screen (I'm assuming that's the 120", as I didn't get a choice, unlike the US, who can choose a screen) has the 0.4 gain. I'm really hoping that my extra gain means it will perform better in bright conditions, and I don't have to turn my contrast to maximum like you have. We will spend by far the most amount of time watching the screen in a bright room.
      Did you get a proper manual with yours, or just the quick start manual? I only have the latter, it explains how to set the screen up and get started, but nothing about functions and general use.
      Sorry, I'm being Lazy, what is the app you have on your phone to control the projector called?
      Thanks for replying. I'd love to be able to do what you do and film my install to try and help non US customers out, but I can't.

      @@MATechCZcams what's answered. I haven't asked any questions, simply given info. But on that note, the system is stunning, it's so bright and vivid that it often looks like it's 3D. Absolutely no need to set the screen up so your eyes are a third of the way up, you can view it from absolutely any angle at all. I'd definitely recommend it, I think it's stunning. Also something I've never heard about on any video's about it is that it can record onto an external HDD, like a standard PRV, you just schedule things to record as you usually would. It's an excellent system.

    I am planning to get a UST projector and I am thinking of the L9G 120. I had a couple of questions and was thinking If I might get an answer here. I want to use my existing soundbar, the Yamaha YSP-2700 (7.1 surround). It has an optical out and an arc port but not e-arc, I was wondering if this will work with this projector. Since this comes bundled with the screen, do I need to invest in anything else for the projector setup.

    • @MATechYoutube
      @MATechYoutube  Před rokem

      You’d be better off with a retractable screen because this needs to be wall mounted and accurate for it to work with the projector.
      Moving this screen manually would mean you have to align the projector every time.
      No protective cover so if you’re handling the screen be sure to wear the provided gloves.

      @MATechYoutube  Před rokem

      Yes but how are you going to get it positioned exactly the same each time you remove it?

    • @MATechYoutube
      @MATechYoutube  Před rokem

      How do you not understand, you have to be incredibly precise to the point moving the screen or projector by even a 1mm will create a cut off image/warped image. It’s fine when setting up by that’s not a process you want to be repeating each time.
      But hey it’s your setup you do what you like with it, I’m just saying this isn’t how this setup is intended to be used and the screen is not intended to be moved as this will most likely remove the tension from the springs (if you have the same screen as me) and eventually the screen will begin to sag.
      There is to set catch on the rear for the screen it just slots over the wall mounts so it seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to have to recalibrate each time you repeat the process.

      LEDs are better oriented to opposite of how I mounted them, I mounted them to shine back onto the wall but because the screen is so close to the wall not much light reflects back (as well as the black paint absorbing most).
      You can see the leds in the dark but in a lot room you can only see little bits of reflection.
      I’d suggest mounting them so they wrap on the surface that is not facing the wall for better light output, I may change mine to this if I take mine down in the summer.
