4:50 Passenger infected himself intentionally because he did not care for his life anymore and only wanted vengeance at that point, he infected himself to make sure he sticks to the path of revenging his teacher and also so he could channel arts easier as a infected, and he said he didn’t care if it costed his life. I think he said something like he feels like the terra abandoned him so he’s gonna become someone who’s really got abandoned (becoming a infected).

one correction tho, Elliot didn't kill a Padishah (bcs that would lead to a war), he killed a lord Ameer of Ibut region. Padishah is like the emperor and Ameer is like the local kings or duke/marquees
the whole reference and and reveal this event and characters has is just amazing. passanger ofc is T.S. Elliot, one of the most important 20th century poet. the mention of Padishah Murad which is referencing Murad IV as one of the greatest ottoman sultan. the mention of Khezig means that Terra has it's own version of Mongolian empire and it helps built the Sargon empire. a much more indepth look to the Great Rebellion of ursus and how it started after sarcophagus incident. a mention that the throne of victoria has been vacant for atleast 13 years and also a rough timeline on the start of the twin empress reign. and ofc demons and how every nation been battling them for ages and the sargon/khezig push them back in their campaign approximately more than 1000 years ago, the earliest point in timeline that we have now.

Well a little explanation here
Basically demons in Arknights (don’t confuse with sarkaz, they’re completely different) are powerful creatures that destroyed a part of terra, emperors blades are so strong because they have fragments of defeated demons inside of their body
Has a fun fact: Patriot once fought 2 demons at the same time and according to him, the demons once killed 20 emperors blades

I used to wonder why there were so many people stanning Kaltsit even though she barely showed up in the game but now I know why.
This event was really interesting not just because of the various Ex-wife outfits but because of all the lore we got for the different countries especially Ursus and how Kaltsit is involved with them.
Well, she showed up a lot in the main story so that counts

Looking at the comments at this point the majority of the AK community seem to be reluctant readers. My book-loving ass is going crazy about how people are unwilling to read though the dialogue. It's not even that hard to understand! The translators did a decent job in this one. But then again maybe its just because I like to read and connect the dots. The more obscure the storytelling the better, since that means I get to use my brain more. It wouldn't be fun if they just explain the story, and it certainly wouldn't be fitting for the characters to act that way.
Anyway thanks for the vid Frost, kudos for making an effort to unpeel the story.
yeah it's a shame really. the way they compare to other game stories that didn't even use novel styled approach is just too painful to read (like comparing it to genshin, no offense but you didn't need to think at all to understand genshin story, just watch it).
if you compared it to other text based story gacha game, none of them got as hard and as in-depth as AK did in their storywriting even fgo. plus with how heavy the flavor text reliant the lore is i find it even more fascinating to know about just like soulsborne series especially bloodborne. and idk maybe im just too biased, one of the best book I've read is Tolkien's Silmarillion and this event is similar to it in how they tell a history instead of story. recc it if you haven't read it tho

I love reading and detailed plots but I don't know what it is about arknights lore that makes me not enjoy reading it. But I think the main points are.
1.too many time jumps and non-linear timeline.
2.Event based stories
you have to wait for the events to come out. I find I can't enjoy a story very much if i can only read 1 or 2 chapters at a time
3. Too much time between stages
I'm much too focused on trying to clear the stages and learn new ways to win to care about the plot.
4.my 4th and biggest reason is probably that the text is mostly all dialouge. What makes books great is that you can create descriptive images and explain things in detail in a way that feels natural. But dialouge with only occasionally changing pictures of characters and little to no descriptions makes it hard to feel the charactors emotion and become emotionally invested in them.
I can tell that arknights has a really nice and detailed lore and i'm sure many people will come to like it, but I find it a shame that I am not one of them.

Something to point out from the event. Kal'Tsit tries to stop people from falling into a circle of revenge an violence. Failing with the first two, Elliott and Lillia, yet succeeding with the one we expected not to listen, the Emperor's Blade. Yes, it was mostly because of the damage on his armor that he stopped, but before leaving he laments that Kal'Tsit isn't helping Ursus improve and calls her a Citizen of the Empire (contrasting with the previous title of Traitor he used before).
So what I take is that Kal'Tsit will try to help people out of circles of violence, even if all odds are against her, this in turn explains why she would "welcome" the Dokutha even when they are supposed to be responsible for Theresa's death. It just isn't in her nature.
Wasnt the "only" reason why she didnt take revenge on the Doctor because of her "promise"? Wasnt that the main conversation when she & the doctor reached the Sargophagus after mutated Mephisto was stopped?

@@MonoReaper Yes, clearly that had a lot to do with her choice. But such wouldn't have mattered had she not have the mentality to let go of her wish for revenge in the first place (as we saw with both Elliot and Lillia) already in her.

My biggest issue was the reused stage assets aside for the playable boss, the stages and enemies were dumb designed and the event shines for the story of Kalsit alone

I skipped the story to get access to the stages and I only had free time to start reading the whole story today. 2 hours in and I still haven't finished the story. They really need a better way in conveying these stories.

@@hermanwillem7057 It's not as bad as Twilight of Wolumonde where Bidermann and Thorwald weren't even shown and Thorwald's fate wasn't even revealed unless you even read Mudrock's profile. Now, the problem I have with A Walk in the Dust is it's so.... boring as it's just one large exposition. These 3 stories conveyed is extremely important to the history of Arknights and to be portrayed this way does it disservice. Put it this way, if these were voice acted I highly doubt it would be this lengthy and so dry by being riddled with exposition. Do you play Genshin Impact by any chance? Their story telling is excellent as with their recent Moonchase Festival.

@@hashswap bcs each time point could be made into its own event, and it's not intended to be stpry focused but more on the lore. the storywriting of this event is similar in a way to Tolkien's Silmarillion when it's a full book dedicated for lore not arching plot and so on. dropped genshin a month ago but i did play through the story, skipped monstandt bcs it's boring and ppl said liyue is the better one but still in the end it's just meh for me. mind you execution is one of the most important part of a story but that alone won't give it above 8 score in many ppl's book, just like how ufotable masterfully direct a dull ass manga called DS and pair it with phenomenal animation, it's still won't surpass many titles in overall, tho it is quite enjoyable i wont deny that.
genshin story is quite enjoyable first but then the too damn generic take make it forgettable in my book. the words choices is boring, the mannerism of tha characters is to fantasy setting like for my taste. kinda wondering how in the hell it's still that forgettable even with all the 3d custcene for better storytelling.
