50K+ Miles, 850WHP MK5 - Sam's Daily Driven Supra || Supra Build Series Pt. 10 [4K]

- Yup that's right, my car is not the only big turbo MK5 Supra out there as Sam's (@ggsam on IG) car has over 50k miles! Crazy stuff. Even though it is on a Weld drag pack, this car is 10000% certified daily driven, rain, sun, sleet, whatever. If you're on a budget and you want to stretch out your dollar a little bit further, this is the build to look at for inspiration. Aesthetics were built by eBay, but under the hood are quality parts. I didn't mention it in the video, but the turbo kit he is running is a Full Race 2 port 6870 kit with some custom piping.

Weld doesn't actually list the offset when I looked, they're just A90 spec on their website. Could be wrong though.
These cars need the targa top style to make a come back.

No one with this type of build or platform measures 0-60. I don’t think he has a quarter mile time yet because he’s on stock axles.
Any dyno graph to share for this car? Curious about the curve to make it work with stock trans yet give that power up top.
I think it was a great way to go if he’s not built the trans. Maybe even gentler on the car as a whole.
Also have you or this guy had any heat damage from top mount? I see the heat deflection on his hood
I would have to ask him for the graph!
Drivability still is great and transmission still lasting so it’s working. I don’t see any damage when I looked and none on mine.

@@VinceChristmastree The B58 is incredible. I swear in the 2JZ vs B58 comparison video with Jay (realstreetperformance) he said that the iron block and the main bearings are stronger than the B58 as well as better 2JZ rod bolts and wider valves.
But I swear a 2JZ wouldn't last that long being constantly beaten on and achieve an entire 50k miles at that level. What's the secret of the B58?
Yeah that video was awesome coming from someone who is very knowledgeable and familiar with the 2JZ platform. I don't have the technical answer to your question, but design and more modern features. Not just the architecture of the engine itself but the many safety features available in modern cars now.
