Yeap stugs III where very reliable a good gun did the job. Micheal wittman the biggest german tank ace started in the stugg he killed like over 12 t34's with the stug in one day by himself... that stugg didnt betray him.. he became so profound that he was pushed forward as an example how to use the tank amd personally decorated by hitler himself.
Man, when that stug is rolling past that machine gun nest? I wonder what those gunners are thinking... I'm guessing they aren't envious of the tankers. Must have been tough in a tank in below zero conditions.
Yeah, I thought they were converting them as fast as they could by this time, apparently not though. They were up to the Gr38Hl/B by then so it still would have had c100mm pen at 30deg at any range you could hit. And if this was taken around the time of the fall of Stalingrad- these might have been gunnery school guns a few weeks earlier.
@@ThomasEPeters From what i could gather they didint convert them at all, they just produced new ones so older StuGs with short barrels still saw extensive service, though with no new ones produced the longer barreled ausf F and G started to become more and more common

The track extensions are wild. More unique footage from GOAT karbine!
Yeah I noticed those too. Didn't realize the Germans had developed those as I thought the idea was first tried for the Sherman. GOAT indeed!!!!
Unique? Footage of track extensions on Stugs and Panzers is often seen in newsreels.

looks cold af🥶
My first thoughts as well:) I wouldn’t want to do anything outside while it is so cold, let alone wage war.
Super wide treads!
These videos are absolutely amazing. 👍🏾
Excellent work by the cameraman btw.

This was probably more than “below zero” conditions🥶🥶🥶
StuG Life!
Sensational footage! Thanks
That early StuG is just an odd looking vehicle.
Great footage that
StuG life... Eastern front tracks, but what's up with the short barrel in '43..? Excellent footage. Thanks for posting.
still in infantery support role

The Wehrmacht used whatever was available and useful. Wartime documentation proves that.

El Stug fue el l mejor blindado alemán...pequeño, barato, veloz y muy poderoso.

Best tank the germans ever fielded

Those tank had no heaters in them
