- This is a song that has the same tune as an Irish song called "The Wearing of the Green". This song is about the south's lament of losing the American Civil War.
Note: The lyrics may not match the lyrics in the song. There were lyrics of it that were slightly off.
If you think this song offends you, then you are welcome to not watch this video. You must be glad that I am using another flag instead of the one that looks like Scotland's, lol.
Rest in Peace to the 600,000 men who died during the Civil War. May we never pit brothers against brothers again.
Deo vindice. God Bless the South. From an English friend. Dixie forever!
may those who wore both the blue and the grey rest in peace and may we never be divided like that again...
also good to have you back pomerodia you have introduced me to so many good songs.
Well sadly I think the north and south will always be divided...
I originally worked on this back in 2018...but I only finished it now.
This has the exact same tune as The rising of the moon. How did this come to be?
Although I prefer the 2nd South Carolina's version over Bobby Horton, this is a fine piece of music.
Clicked on the notification so fast Abraham Lincoln was still not assassinated yet
I am now.
Do u mean Abraham lincoln the best friend of the devil?
@@RepublicanTV-hf6vb Yes, that Lincoln
By the rising of the moon
By the rising of the moon…
For the wearing of the green
For the wearing of the green
A hundred pipes a flashing by the rising of the moon...

God bless the men and women who took to the Grey and Blue in such a bloody part of a young country's history. May you rest in peace for you have given more than anyone asked of you.
DAMN FEDERAL RESERVE
YALL DAMN YANKEE LEFTY DOGS
In memory we will still be seen wearing of the grey
We will always love blue and grey even if it’s a blood bath of anger they’d still help enemy’s soldiers
The language is elegant and so very southern. My Smoky Mountain ancestors participated although none even owned another person. For them the song is only a soldier's lament for the fallen.
Do we need to talk about the Background ?! IS THIS BOTIFUL
All my ancestors wore the gray. And they are still remembered by us.
Rip those who wore green tho

Csa parody of Army of the free themed around taking a fat L in the civil war.
@@Austria-HungaryJosieMainit’s actually originally a Irish folk song called by the rising of the moon

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
You should be more open minded. Oh wait...

What a disgusting appropriation of a beautiful, anti-oppression song, into exactly the opposite.
Nonetheless, thanks for uploading it. That's not an attack on you. Spreading knowledge of these songs is good.
The Bonnie Blue Flag was another example of that song you described there lol. It was based off of an Irish tune.
The Southerners and Irish fought for their freedom, and you think all me Southern Brothers fought only for slavery, they were the poor farmers who were taxed heavily!
@@justinianthegreatandnerd6377 Fax
Lol, South didn't fight for slavery.
@@justinianthegreatandnerd6377 hey, that's cute, you're trying to use your family tree for authenticity, but I can prove direct descendance from a Confederate soldier too, and I'm here to say you don't speak for all of us
Southern rip off of rising of the moon.
No sir.
No, Abe.
