GhostRider is a wooden roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm, a theme park in Buena Park, California. It is located in the Ghost Town section of the park, south of the main entrance. It is the longest wooden coaster on the West Coast.
Ghostrider is an amazing ride. It is the best wooden roller coaster I have ever been on. The first drop is a 55 degree angle you float the entire time. Then you hit the bottom and realize you are going almost 60 mph on wood and you start to feel the constant shaking you must endure for the remainder of the ride. It is an exciting ride that never let's up. The second part after the flat right breather is the best part, but hold on tight. The left turn at the bottom gives you the sensation
Perfect pacing..it seems to feel faster as you go along the track & that's how a coaster should be especially a wooden coaster. :)
The ride in the backseat was THE BEST! I'll say that the back is , indeed, much more drastic.
I just rode this ride 5 times on Tuesday. It was great. With each ride, it got faster and rougher. The 5th time we rode rode it was after dark just before the park closed. This proves to be the most insane ride of day. This coaster is so good because it never let's up. As long as you can take the punishment it dishes up. The front is by far the smoothest place to sit on the ride. So much fun.

I can't wait till Sunday, I am going to Knott's with Theme Park Review and Club TPR for the second day of their West Coast Bash. ERT on all the good rides and back stage tours! Even if it rains, it should be good fun. I love this ride, my favorite coaster at Knott's. Although it is anything but smooth and usually surprises first time riders with it's roughness.

Just rode this ride 5 times today. What an awesome ride, it never lets up. Every ride got faster and rougher.
I went on this ride 11 years ago,and Im still dying to go back on it!
I love this ride. It is exciting start to finish. Although Ghostrider is the roughest roller coaster I have ever experienced. Be prepared for a bumpy, rough, turbulent and jarring ride.

Still one of my favorite rides at Knott's. Even though it does throw you around a bit......as long as you stay loose and go with it.....it's way fun to ride!! One time I went on it 11 times in a row........lol
I had so much fun. I went around 2007 when I was 10-11. There were no or very short lines when we went and we totally took advantage of it. We must have gone on no less than 7 times.
This was my very first roller coaster ever and I had so much fun. At first when getting on I was very nervous I felt like I was going to cry, but after the ride I just shouted that it was amazing :P
you like fly off of the seat on the hills its so awesome!!!!
I got my 10 yr old nephew to ride on this a few weeks back, he screamed his guts out with the OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! haha it was such a blast! Next stop, the Desperado!!!!! One of my favorites!

@ShibbySlushy but that's the glory of a classic wooden roller coaster! How merciless it is. Rollercoasters are meant to get your adrenaline rushing and what not, and how better to do that than to toss you around like a rag doll?! :)

i love ghost rider because it goes through all of its supports and stuff and makes it seem like you are on a mine cart and in a tunnel
I do recommend Ghostrider, it is an amazing ride. Although I would also recommend not to ride it too many times in the same day. When I ride Ghostrider I hurt for a week. It is as rough and turbulent as the video makes it look. This is by far the roughest roller coaster I have ever rode. That is part of what makes it fun and exciting. One more thing, I do believe that an earthquake is a smoother experience than this ride.

Rode this for the first time today, & it was bumpy as hell obviously but probably because I was sitting in the very front it didn't really hurt that bad. Really one of the more terrifying rollercoasters I've been on simply for the fact that it lifted me out of my seat maybe 5 or 6 times. Very fun but I kept praying the whole time that the bar in front would hold lol. The thing really is completely out of control, or feels that way. I'd recommend it but it can cause some pain I guess.

@madpyroman if you want smooth go on a roller coaster. Rough is what makes wooden coasters a blast and makes it feel far more stronger.

The the drop is so MUCH bigger than what it seems on this video I went on this yesterday and I was blown away on how high and fast it is. It's really fun though and this is coming from the biggest chicken out there! It's not even that bumpy and it didn't give me ahead ache and it didn't hurt it was amazing!

The first drop on the ride is 108 feet at 50 degrees. You reach a speed of 56 mph. This ride is fantastic if you can take the beating that it dishes out. Ghostrider is anything but smooth.
Not only is it easier on the ride (structure) but the rider as well. This is the roughest part of the ride. So by reducing the speed through the last half of the they have smoothed it out some.

Just rode this ride twice on Sunday. The first time was pretty smooth (earlier in the day) and the second time was way rougher (later in the day). Although the second ride was better because their was more speed and lots of airtime. Until you ride this ride, you have no idea how rough it is. So much fun, though.

I just visited knotts berry Farm with my family yesterday had a good time very good vacation! The ghost rider was my favorite got the fast pass and went on that ride 4 or 3 times

This was my first ride at Knott's 2 years ago and now I'm going on Monday for my 8th grade fieldtrip :)

These drops r TERRIFYING and the ride itself shakes a bit because of the wood but its overall pretty fun!!! :-D
Well putting your head down can help a little lol since air is not blowing in your face giving you those "butterfly" feelings =D I used to do it but i realized its not as bad as you think it is.
Same dude. Like after the first drop or something. Wooden coasters, especially this one, scare the crap out of me.
@homiezatheart glad u made it off alive.I had a lapbar pop up on a log water ride scary shit i had to brace myself.people saw the bar pop up(a lady looked at me like OH SHIT!) but no one could do anything!

i like this ride; when they do halloween haunt; because they crank the speed of the lift hill to the max; so it is epic fast
this was my first ride ever for me to ride at knotts.i really liked it but it hurt my back alot lol went on the 21st for halloween haunt.my brother says its prob cuz im a little small.i prob wont go back on it again.rather go on silver bullet and xcelerator haha its funny cuz i haven't been to knotts since i was 6 and i was up for all these coasters lmao
@sourj234 The reason Knott's stops you on the mid-course trim brakes now is because it knocks 10-15 mph off the speed when you hit the wicked left turn at the bottom. It is also less wear and tear on the structure itself because the heavy trains carry a lot of speed through there.

I WENT TO KNOTTS FOR MY FIRST TIME I WENT ON THAT 3 TIMES AND IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME
No problem, went to Knotts today and got that feeling on small coasters like Sierra Sidewinder and built my way up to bigger coasters and after going on a lot of rides I went on La Revolution and felt barely anything in my stomach.
I went on this two days ago, twice, in the morning and at night. THERE IS SUCH A DIFFERENCE WHEN ITS AT NIGHT!
This ride hurts!! It bruised my two arms bad! Haha but really fun never going on this though until a loooooong time! :o

No, this coaster does not go upside down. It you are looming for a coaster that is roughly the same size and goes upside down (through a loop), check out California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure park. Also an awesome ride.
The Drops are scary as hell..my eyes where closed the whole time

i went today and rode ghostrider 6 times ! LOL the silver colored train seems to be more rougher than the gold train o.o

When tour waiting in line you can hear and see the wood bend and creek as the coaster goes around the first bend. When i went one this ride i swear i felt the car come off the track at one point.

Also saw a few people mention Colossus. I rode Colossus one time &, though it was decent, I don't think I'll ever ride it again lol. I have a habit of shutting my eyes on rollercoasters so I got on Colossus and told myself I wouldn't, and on the last drop (105 ft. I think) I kept them open and very nearly blacked out. Wayyy too much force & pressure against my eyes. I got off feeling like I was about to have an aneurysm.

Damn the first time I rode this was when I was 9. I was a small and skiiny kid and I almost fell off this damn ride :/ overall it was an intense and fun wooden rollercoaster :)
i remember that ghost rider was the first rollercoaster i've gotten on. i will regret that moment.
I celebrated my 10th birthday at Knott's and this was the first ride I went on. In the middle of the ride, I put my head down because I was scared, and BANG! I hit my nose against the bar and almost broke it.
All I remember is blood streaming everywhere.
Birthday ruined.

today was my first time riding ghostrider,, because of all the times i went to Knott's it was always closed...i went on it three times today LOLOL
