  • Which Machine Polisher? Best beginner Detailing tool for swirl removal - Rupes Mille Vs Bigfoot 15
I get asked a lot about my recommendations for a first machine. In this Video I discuss the options for your first or only machine, using the Rupes system and the mille forced Rotary and DA Options.

    Super informative James.
I have a good DA just now but think the 15 might just be on my wish list now.

Class video! Can't wait for you to open again. I use the rupes bf mk2 and absolutely love it. Came from rotary to a knock off das6 (i think its called). Id like to try the forced rotation on tight bits as i keep swapping to a small rotary for tight bits on corrections

Great job on the video! I have many different DA’s but by far my rupes is the best. I just ordered a rotary rupes they were actually on sale, which they normally never are, so I had to get one!

We love the Rupes machines, such nice tools to work with. LHR15 DA and LHR75 Bigfoot mini if budget allows. Can pretty much do anything with those 2 tools. Mini is perfect for bumpers and tight curves, great tool.

Nice video, I have recently purchased the Mille but haven’t had chance to use it yet. I’ve been using a Vertool Force Driven for the last 12 months and feel like I have now mastered using it properly. I do love how quick it cuts and getting into tight areas without bogging down, saves a lot of time from swapping out to smaller machines. Like you say just have to keep it flat as much as possible.
    Cheers, Matt (M.R Detailing)

Love my 15 and 21. 15 is my favorite. If you watch the C.O.R.E Series from Rupes you will see the benefits of a DA and how its more effective. Nice video Sir.

What are the benefits/advantages of the Rupes Mille when compared to the Flex 3401 and via versa?

I’d recommend to learn polishing with a rotary as fast as it is possible. Because, it will give You the basics of feeling the instrument and how it works. I started with a standard flex da with 15mm throw. Then I had the chance to work for 6montha in a great company in my country with just using rotary although we had every instrument you could imagine from rupes, flex etc. Now I am using a forced rotation since I am starting my own business and I have secondary tool which is a smaller da with 70mm backing plate.

I sold my Mille. Long throw cuts a lot faster if know how to use it.

Hello James. Do you find that the Mille or Rupes 15 can finish out a car the same? Heard the gear driven doesn’t finish out as well on softer paints.

The solution is MAKITA P0500C Dual action random orbit polisher. The ONLY ONE with a switch to go random or orbital random😎

Opinion on the Duetto being my first polisher?
I would like to just polish not paint correct, thinking yellow pad and uno pure.

    • @danlc95
      @danlc95 Před 2 lety

Yellow pans DA Fine might be a bit more practical as far as having more versatility. However, Uno Pure may work. As well. I honestly haven't experimented with its cutting potential.
The Duetto is what I use for most of all the polishers I use.

I was watching my buddy polish with a cheap chemical guys polisher.. it would not even rotate.. he did the whole vehicle, and told me “ it’s not suppose to spin” 🤦‍♂️

There are so many misconceptions regarding the Rotary. You mentioned the one comment that many people falsey make. Rotary Polishers of the past where heavier and yes were set at much higher speeds. Now a Rotary Polishers actually can be just as easier to use and "hung on too" than even a DA!.
Speeds start as low as 400rpm up to 2500-3500 rpm. These speeds are lower than most DAs.
Second Holograms. Yes if your not familiar on how to properly use Rotary as in using it with no product left a d are dry polishing that will happen.
However, on a the other hand Micro marring or DA haze is an issue well more with DAs.
Rotary Polishers these days can be just as easy to use for a beginner as a begginer using a DA.
I have used both and they both have there purposes.

Best polisher for me is a Bauer 20mm dual action. $89 bucks and works fantastic! Love the Rupes, but I am just my own detailer and cannot justify several hundred dollars for one.
