  • John from www.discountjuicers.com/ explains how fresh homemade juice contains fiber. He also backs up his statement with Journal Published Studies so you can learn the truth about fiber & fresh homemade juice.
    In this episode, John will share his thoughts about the misinformation that some people spread about being no fiber in the juice. You will learn about two categories of fiber & how much or little soluble and insoluble fiber may be left in your juice. You will discover which juicers put more or less fiber into your juice, and how some clear store-bought juices may have very little or no fiber.
    You will learn all about the topic of juicing and fiber. Including the science. why it can be a good thing, and why fiber with the food may not be a good thing.
    You will learn about the overall percentage of fiber that may remain in your juice and the vegetables and fruits you should juice to maintain the most fiber in the juice. You will also learn the fruit that puts the least amount of fiber in the juice. You will be able to download a chart of the soluble and insoluble fiber found in various fruits and vegetables.
    You will discover how some juicers keep more fiber in the juice than others. Slow juicers such as the Omega VSJ843 put more insoluble fiber in the juice than high-speed juicers and 2 stage hydraulic press juicers.
    You will learn which juicers to avoid if you want to maximize your fiber intake when drinking fresh juice.
    Next, John will share with you published studies about juice and fiber, proving once and for all that fresh juice contains fiber. You will also learn how the microbiome is affected by juice and what the microbiome feeds on (hint: its soluble fiber and polyphenols) that are still in the juice. You will learn the benefits of some of these polyphenols as well as the benefit of a juice-only diet and how cancer survivors were able to raise their beta carotene levels 2x more with juice rather than eating whole carrots. You will also learn how kale juice is being used to multiply probiotic material (akin to yogurt) and much, much more.
    After watching this episode, you will learn that juice does contain soluble fiber that can help you lose weight, and create a healthier microbiome.

    John I only use lemon and or lime as fruits. No other fruits . I juice green juice religiously but follow up with a green smoothie with nuts and seeds and a green tea. Fruit juice causes blood sugar levels to increase and that is dangerous. I eat , blend and juice as a trio. Fruit juice has a myriad of nutrients but too much sugar and blood glucose meters have revealed this to me. Jay Kordich and Anne Wigmore influenced me too and Dr. Andrew Weil.

I am interested in how fast the nutrients die after the juice is left at room temperature-I've heard you say to drink "immediately", but want some sources for that. I also want to know at what high temperature these nutrients are killed. I love your videos and you've helped me understand how important juicing is for a healthy lifestyle.

    QUESTION: I can't find the answer to this anywhere. To make a smooth juice while retaining full fiber, is there anything wrong with par-boiling first, then use retained water to blend?

  • @lbee8247
    @lbee8247 Před 3 lety

    My digestive system has a hard time with fiber. I should juice all my vegetables. I have Ulcerative Colitis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. I can't have any high starchy foods or foods that maybe low starch but has a carbohydrate make up that resembles starch like cabbage. When I first came out the hospital stay of a month years ago the only way I could have vegetables was by juicing. So, I need the juicing to remove the fiber pretty well.
    My diet is pretty much London low starch diet. No grains, no potatoes, no bananas, no cashews, peanuts, no legumes. I eat lots of spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collards. I can juice carrots and beets but not too much whole. I eat meats. Mainly chicken, bone broth and fish. But all meats occasionally. I eat oranges and grapefruit often.
    Reverse osmosis water is my main water preference. Oh also I just started eating cricket flour. Had cricket flour pancakes for lunch today.
    Oh and I avoid taking any meds for my conditions. Sometimes I give in but I don't stay on the meds even though it upsets my doctors.

    Hi John. Love your channel. Your pointers are great, especially regarding accessories. While a strainer and an 8-cup Pyrex rock my world, I found a new favorite accessory: a Japanese steel Nakiri vegetable knife (mine is a Shun). I cut and chop veggies in no time. What surprised me most is that my vertical slow juicer makes juice faster with veggies cut by a Nakiri. My greens and other fruits and veggies are cut finer and are processed faster. My prep time is reduced by 50%. I know you swear by those ceramic knives, and sure enough they make ceramic Nakiri. I'm not sure how well they work. I thought this video was pretty cool: czcams.com/video/9Wdto78bqa4/video.html

    I bet juicing also helps hydration levels too. Lack of being properly hydrated prevents proper elimination according to Loren Lockman (CZcamsr/water fasting coach/expert). However Loren is in the camp that fruit shouldn't be processed at all. He thinks that after you get detoxed via water fasts and then begin eating all raw, just eating the raw fruit and tender leafy greens is all you need to stay hydrated. Little drinking water is even required according to him if you are really clean inside..
    John, you should do some videos on how juicing expedites detoxing by improving elimination. The last study alluded to it. Maybe there are even some studies about drinking freshly made juice and improved hydration levels too.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  Před 3 lety +1

      I do not agree that simply eating fruits and vegetables can provide you enough hydration. It is dependent on many factors. One being, the climate you live. In an arid climate it can be very difficult to get all the hydration from fruits & veg alone. In the tropics, it would be easier.

    Will it remove soluable fiber if you put the juice through a food cloth strainer(filter) with holes sized down to around 1 micron or slightly less to physically remove bacteria? I understand this method will help the juice last up to 12 days without pasteurization or freezing from another CZcams video...I guess an easy answer to the question might be - what size are the soluable fibers? Are they smaller than 1 micron?

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  Před 3 lety +1

      The finer the filtration, the more soluble fiber (and other nutrients) can be removed, hence clear juices have no fiber according to the studies. I prefer the keep the fiber and suck a vacuum on my juices and keep them for up to 7 days, without microfiltration. see czcams.com/video/53pT6N8Kh58/video.html
