Peter Stastny was perhaps the most underrated player of all time. Watching him play against the Bruins and Whalers back in the day convinced me.

People forget how talented this guy was (maybe because he played for Quebec). He carried that team on his back. Great hands!

2nd most points in the 1980's behind only Gretzky. Incredible!

Peter missed 4 to 5 season's of his prime because his country didn't let players just leave, he arrived in a trunk of a car and started his career not speaking a word of English and it was ALOT harder for immigrant players in late 70s & 80s to start over in a new country. He still has one of the highest assist per game and points per game Averages ever!!! Peter even Won GOLD with Team Canada in 1984 WORLD/Canada CUP.

Yep I read the story of their defecting, and it felt like a friggin Bond movie! Hard to believe it was real! (And he learned both English AND French, which is doubly impressive!)

ok did the Nordiques blue get a shade or shades lighter as the 80s/90s went on? It sure seems like it did??

Our team played in sky blue pajamas, and we were all fine with it.

No, the shade of blue actually seemed to get a bit darker, and was darkest in the Nordiques last NHL seasons in the early to mid 1990s.
The Nordiques were also the last NHL team to use silk screen painted or heat pressed numbers and names on their jerseys, as the NHL eventually mandated all teams to only use embroidered tackle twill cloth numbers on all uniforms from the 75th anniversary season onwards.
The 1990-91 Nordiques jerseys were the last ones to have silk screen painted or heat pressed names, numbers and fleur-de-lis logos on the bottom hem. From 1991-92 until 1994-95, the Nordiques only used embroidered tackle twill cloth, even for the fleur-de-lis, on their game jerseys.
