hayden is so kind and polite. ''nothing but fond memories'' , after aotc came out he recieved so much hate from the fans but he still loves this fandom and he is grateful. im so happy he is getting so much love these days!!
It’s not that. He really has fond memories. He never received hate from fans because he had no access to the toxic side of the fandom since social media wasn’t a thing then yet. The bad reception he heard was from movie critics. He only got love from fans since day one so he’s being honest about his experience. If you watch his appearances in public in the 2000s you’ll see how much fans adore him, how much they scream for him and how much love from fans he’s always got.
@@j0l1ed1v15 I wouldn't say "he only got love from fans." OT purists were the worst. They came at him with everything they had. Just because social media wasn't around doesn't mean every fan liked him. There were a lot who didn't. With that being said, I do agree that the film critics were the main cause because people usually conformed to their opinions. Also, there is validity in the statement of "a vocal minority vs. a quiet majority." I believe most fans appreciated him like you said, but it's not like every fan was like that. It was popular to hate on the prequels and blame the actors and GL. I wish his career turned out better, but he was always very reticent and seemed hesitant to embrace the fame. He made his decision and I absolutely respect that, but it still would have been nice to see how things could have been different.

@@mram03 of course there were people who didn’t like him but he didn’t have access to that so he saw the positivity and the way he managed his career had to do with his rejection to Hollywood that started way before Star Wars came out. He rejected big projects. He’s happy with how things turn out for him.
@@naniii740 he made his choices and he’s happy with them. There are other things in the world that are really heartbreaking not a rich good looking healthy man with a career he chose and loves and a good family and friends. He lives his life the way he wants and he’s happy with that.
Love Ewan, but he never had to deal with what Hayden dealt with. After all the hate he got, just for doing what he was asked to do with the dialogue lines he was given, he remains so polite, humble, respectful and truly a kind soul. Many others could have spiraled down with drugs and just end in ruin with all the money he got, but look at him being a wonderful guy.
I agree Hayden is wonderful but it’s not like his life was bad. He’s had a wonderful life. He’s optimistic and he can see all the wonderful things he has. He got the opportunity to do what he loves, amazing family and friends, money, love from fans. Just because some old boomers didn’t like his performance it doesn’t mean his life wasn’t wonderful. I’ve watched interviews around that time where he said he feels fortunate and blessed because his life has been very good and he didn’t have anything to complain about. He really enjoys what he has while Ewan was an alcoholic who had to overcome his addiction and had to Deal with way more as depression and addictions make you have a pessimistic perspective of everything.
This is really a popular misconception, it was Jake Loyd and Ahmed Best that got the real hate from fans, it wasn't Hayden, Hayden didn't get any real hate from the fans at the time, it was only the critics that he would've heard from, there wasn't social media back then so there was no way for fans to even send him any hate until youtube started and redlettermedia started their infamous prequel review who even still didn't actually bash Hayden for bad acting but instead blamed the writting, wile Jake Loyd got actual real hate and bullying from fans at his school, and Ahmed recieved hate through the nonsensical fan hate train of his character Jar Jar, the only hate Hayden got was from the loud minority, the critics, but from his perspective he most likely got a mostly positive reaction from the fans since his interaction with fans were at premiers and interviews where only prequel lovers would actually come to them and give their support, so I very much doubt Hayden was ever depressed over the backlash like you guys make out, you guys need to be a little less emotional and think more critically you're romanticizing things way too much and copying each other, with this poor Hayden got so much hate thing, when really it was Jake Loyd, Ahmed Best, Kelly Marie Tran and most recently Moses Ingram who actually got real hate and need your praise and defending far more so than Hayden since most people today are giving him nothing but praise and respect wile the same can't be said for certain others.
And obviously Ewan got a great reaction even from the critics because the man gave a pretty much perfect performance at mimicking Alec Guinness and making it his own, him and Ian Mcdarmid's performance were really the best acting in the prequels that's why Ewan's gotten his own show because his portrayel of Obi-Wan was one of the best things in the prequels.

Nah, there's hardly a more upbeat more optimistic guy in the business than Ewan, I've not heard of anything about him having issues with booze, though it is a very scottish/irish/british thing to sometimes get wasted from time to time, so would be unsurprising, but he wouldn't be the only one, I've heard even Hayden had some real difficulties with smoking so there's that, but who in the acting business or in any profession doesn't have problems of their own? Both are great humble guys who I'm sure have had overall positive lives with probably the only drawback being fame which I'm sure they've gotten used to for the most part and have shown great examples of how to deal with it.

@@hyperrunner893 “Originally I was a happy drunk. But later I was miserable because it’s a depressant, I was just ashamed of myself, really.” But he overcame it. It’s an struggle for life though. Alcoholism doesn’t have a cure but it happened while he was in the Star Wars prequels so he had a more pessimistic view of it. That’s my point. It’s has changed ever since and I’m glad he’s doing better. At least apparently

I think it's that upper 30s lower 40s on a knife's edge between youth and older. I think the part of it is because he was so young in PQ trilogy vs Ewan McGregor who was pretty much at full adulthood. Also I suspect a physical conflict between smoking that has slightly aged him vs keeping in good shape weight wise that has him looking young.
Might of ticked Hayden off with that question about the farm and him quitting acting...
Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor are two guys that shaped my Star Wars Childhood! They introduced me to the Star Wars franchise in the early 2000s and I could not thank these guys for being the best Anakin and Obi Wan characters ever! It makes me happy to see these dudes return to the Obi Wan Kenobi show on Disney+ as they are reintroducing my childhood to me in 2022 :) 17-20 years later, these dudes still have the Star Wars spirit and I really hope Hayden and Ewan receive more love for their return:) You are so welcome to have my support Hayden and Ewan!!!

Dude, asking about what happened in past is insensitive and trying to connect it as Hayden leaving just to have a nice farm life is insensitive. Do better. You wouldn't like it if someone asked you why you did this because of that. Hayden probably just wanted to live a quieter and peaceful life instead of city life where it's loud and annoying.

I couldn't believe the interviewer was so rude as to laugh at the fact he went on and lived in a farm!!! That guy definitely does not know what peace and joy country life brings to people. I hate it when they look down at people for choosing a life in the country instead of plastic Hollywood.
