Back in the day, when the movie Song Remains the Same came out, smoking was allowed in movie theaters, restaurants, planes, etc. As teenagers we would go the the midnight showing of the movie and bring our "joints" and get high, high, high and lose ourselves in the music with our fellow Zeppelin lovers! The good old days!

I agree .. but Listen to Page's solo on Stairway from The Song Remains The Same . Fuckin' Killer .. even Page Himself .. says He "Cringes" every time He hears The Song Remains The Same Soundtrack . Go figure ..
Led Zeppelin makes me glad to be alive! Awesome awesome band. Music from heaven. I never tire of hearing them. Every song takes you on a journey music and lyrics just perfect.
Led Zeppelin is the band that never copied itself. Every song is different and there is no other song that is similar to another. There hasn't been a second song like No Quarter.

PLAY YOU SHOOK ME FROM THAT CONCERT. FIRST TIME PAGE PLAYED HIS LES PAUL SUNBURST GIBSON ..HE BOUGHT IT FROM GUITAR LEGEND ..JOE WALSH.

This is the perfect example why, although the studio version may sound technically better, watching them live is a magical experience!! JP is a genius. for me, the best guitarist ever. Many tried to imitate his style, but it is impossible. Destroyed rock and created a whole new rock
Jimmy page is the best,...,..Jimi Hendrix is not as good as page straight up. I would even go out on a limb and say David Gilmour is second.Love Hendrix but he is sloppy compared to Page and Gilmour..I know what I hear..Page and Gilmour are the GOATS period.

Love JImmy’s use of the wah pedal on the main riff. I know Clapton and Hendrix are better known for using the wah, I don’t think anyone has used the wah more cleverly than Page, for texture and tone. Check out The Ocean in the same concert. He turns it on and off to create tonal variety in a single bar. Creative genius on guitar.
The chemistry these four had was incredible like an esp with each other! Love how they improv all their live performances. Jimmy and Bonham were self taught and played by ear(most evident in Dazed & Confused TSRTS). Really love this version of this song -No one will EVER touch these guys! Rock on Led Zeppelin!!🤘🏻

Saw them do these songs in The Kings Theatre in Edinburgh Scotland in 1973, awsome to see.

I have both recordings of the Led Zep Glasgow shows from December 3rd and 4th 1972, but I don't think there's ever been an Edinburgh bootlegged show that I know of, unfortunately.
You were so lucky to be able to see them at the very height of their powers. That whole tour of England, Scotland, Wales and the rest of Europe....Page, Bonzo and JPJ were on fire during that point in time. The very best period of live Zep, in my opinion.
His searing wah-wah solo right at the end to finish the song off is so good that it dosen't last enough, I wish he'd kept it going for a bit longer, its just stunning.

When the levee breaks next. Then Teddy Swims and then Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa " I will take care of you" is a must. Not 60s 70s. But amazing. Too bad you can't do the live, they block those. So much blocking. But I understand. You are so into guitar by Jimmy. But Robert is the key on this band. Chicago is next on my list of top 2....

I recommend kashmir in celebration day, its a concert from 2007 and it was the last show they do. You need to see the energy that they still had

This right here is a masterpiece! Don't understand why other reactors don't do it? We've got this concert on DVD. The Song Remains the Same. My husband and I have watched it a dozen times. This right here sealed it for me. The fact that this will forever be my favourite band of all time!

Great job, guys! I think you nailed what makes Zeppelin and Jimmy Page so special. They’re not just songwriters and musicians; they literally aim to open a door into their world and take you on different journeys, song by song. They created an entire fantasy universe, like their rock and roll version of the Lord of the Rings, and immerse their fans in it. Their vision and sweep is closest to classical music of any band that ever existed. Sure, the prog rockers like Yes and King Crimson, and also Deep Purple, were more directly influenced by classical music in style, and they were all fantastic (Black Sabbath too), but they weren’t as accessible and immersive, or as compelling and charismatic as Zeppelin in such a way they could capture the souls of tens of millions of people for decades. Pink Floyd is also a visionary band as well (but I think less exciting, IMHO). Zeppelin music will probably be played and loved by people decades from now.

I was listening to this album in my front porch and I said something in the middle of Jimmy Pages solo and he said, “Hold on bro, Jimmy’s talking to me” as he played air guitar. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs.

This song just amazes me. I agree. I LOVE THE RIFF. The whole vibe of the song is mysterious and hypnotic. The middle is like a funky, jazz quartet. It’s so unique. And when Jimmy adds the Theremin for the “dogs of doom are howlin low” OMG, it’s so perfect.

Plants voice was best blues rock ever in 1970. 6 years later its fried. Yet, he turned it into the best hard rock voice ever.
