I doubt it, zelenskys popularity is falling the longer this war goes on, the public and ukraine officials are losing faith in him. Hes being criticised by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko for becoming more authoritarian and refusing any negotiations with russia.
If zelensky is assassinated it will be by his own people weather that be through hisnown officials wantimg himnout the way or by a disgruntled civilian thats un happy with his leadership and the on going conscription situations.

Desperation has a been a battle plan since the beginning of time.
Assuming a major break through happens. Russia would then have to deal with France joining the war and possibly Poland depending on how things go. That would open up another front entirely which would stretch Russia forces even more. Not to mention that Finland has closed its border to Russia and is building up its military forces as a response.
Edit: and even before a break through ever occurs Russian now has to deal with more infighting as troops turn on each since Putin’s commanders have told the grunts they are expendable.

They are not Territorial Defense (TerrOboron) -- those units don't have access to power.
My guess as to why Ukraine was different (analyst approach) would be money, geopolitics and Crimean ports. Russian oil and gas was Ukraines bread and butter, Russian oil and gas is Russias bread and butter, the Crimean ports are critical to Russian geopolitics and the geography connecting Ukraine to Russia is not very defensible (Ukraine highly desirable as a buffer, nazi Germany went through Ukraine. It can be argued that the CIA lead a coup detat of the pro Russian government previously to create pro western or pro NATO sentiment (if that was the will of the people it should be respected but the argument is it was a western lead operation) and if that was the case (IF, I've seen enough evidence to make it plausible) it would make the opposing government (Russia) wonder what it was for and what it was meant to lead to. The Russian argument is the promise of NATO to not consume old soviet block countries and they did, the difference in reaction (for Ukraine) is the above mentioned issues.

The reason Russia threw such a fit about Ukraine is simple….Look up natural resources on the map. The reason Russia is claiming eastern Ukraine as Russian has nothing to do with the people living there….But it might have something to do with the gigantic natural gas reserves found under the Donbas and other eastern regions of Ukraine.
Before writing nonsense, I advise you to read books for self-education. There is no gas or oil in Ukraine. Russia is the first country in the world in terms of gas reserves.

Of course that has a lot to do with it as you say. But Russia is the largest land mass on earth, they have explored their own country for decades and they are not even close to finding and exploiting all the resources - everything from gold to uranium to oil - that are there for the taking, and which they could extract any time without any need for war to do it.
I think the primary reason for this terrible war is of course political. Since 1917, Ukraine always had some Russian puppet leadership in charge ready and willing to do their bidding on any issue. But when Zelensky took power the Russians soon it was clear Zelensky was anything but another puppet - and serious about maintaining Ukraine's status out of the Russian orbit. Once Ukrainian leadership began serious moves to join NATO Putin decided he could no longer tolerate the state of affairs in Ukraine; and that is the number one reason for their invasion.

Russia was too weak when Estonia and the other Baltic states joined NATO to do anything about it. Also, Putin really believed that the Ukrainian people would see him as a liberator but he had no similar illusions for the Baltic states.

I have successfully challenged people on their words. Of conspiracy and the one thing, most people have in common is. If you try to get them to state the facts they bag down. They try to change the subject. So if speculators or conspirators have no grounds or good grounds on what they say then their arguments go away.

The way to fight back on Propaganda is to get on people's case about gossip. Also show people that speculating things without facts leads to more harm than good. 13:20 i agree it dont make much sense. BUT if you look on the map, and look on the geo environment in the area. Ukraine is the last place that is one of the 2 or 3 path´s to move your troops.
Either for Russia to move troops in to Europe, or Europe to move troops into Russia. Ukraine is one of those pathways. And baltic countries is the other. So losing one pathway is not a big deal. but lose all of them is a problem in Russians eyes. Russians always think Europe will invade them. But it is generally Russia who do all the invasions stuff. this is a 600 year old Russian "tradition".
So, they want to have some control over these pathways. That is the real reason. And ofc, Russia want to expand and use all the resources they can steal. Russia have never been good at producing stuff, they have through history always been steeling instead of creating.
Ukraine is sore point to Russia because they are so close to earth other, not just geographically but culturally as well. Similarly as Taiwan is sore point to mainland China, it’s a prime example what China could be today without the CCP.
