      They will Punish you by Procedure.
      The threat of lawsuit works because your informing the city if they go through with X, then you will make them fight it in court. At this point in time the city hasn't spent all the resources doing X, and the additional cost of court is likely enough to make them think 'why bother?' For, at the end, the City might spend more money winning the court battle then it was worth fighting in the first place... and they might also lose, so why risk it?
      Now:
      You remained silent till they did X and suddenly take them to court?
      This create a Perverse Incentive for the government to fight tooth and nail, as your already costing them the full amount even if they win. At this point the people behind these decisions are going to become spiteful, and they will draw the whole thing out as long as possible. So even if you do win at the end of the day, and get your vehicle back and maybe two to three grand for the 'mistake,' the lost time and resources will never be worth the settlement.
      -This is not legal advice and I am not a lawyer.
      I just hate that the government knows it controls this procedure.

Legally, if you accumulate enough tickets that equal the price that your home is appraised for the city/state can legally claim your house and foreclose it. Use a metal car ramp used to change your oil, use the back ramp part onto the tire bead, drive up on the tire, rinse repeat till the bead is broke all the way around, very easy efficient 😊 also I miss driving my 94 Plymouth Sundance (same cross over of your chevy) used metal adjustable join boosters to lift it/stiffen suspension and deplete the boat on water feel hahah

  • @johnchiz54
    @johnchiz54 Před 4 měsíci +2

    yep, had my breaks fail and put my car out of commission. it took me three days to get the parts in to fix it and I already had a similar notice from the city, I did talk to Code Enforcement on the phone and they don't go out looking for things they get called in by the neighbors. its why I hate urban living. "oh you can't afford to take your car to a mechanic? well you better have land somewhere else to work on your vehicle because #NotInMyBackyard"
    That plug is totally not safe for extended use over say, 15mph. but everything you did between patching and putting on the car was at no real risk for catastrophic failure. you do need a new tire though because the sidewall heats up a lot while driving.

The only reason a car could be towed if it’s untaxed so all you have to do is Sorn it ( registered it off the road) and nothing will happened. I’ve seen cars that were parked for decades and nothing been done. There’s a GMC Safari that has been imported from the US. It has been sitting in the spot since 2007 and no one cares. There multiple cars like that in my area literally no cares. As long as you don’t have a complete scrapyard then your fine, and even then I’ve seen driveways and gardens full of abandoned cars and still no one cared.

    I’m certain that seizure of property without due process is a violation of your rights. The government isn’t allowed to simply take property even though certain agencies do it on the regular. The reason this is a Constitutional right is so the government can’t simply take your property without taking you to court and convicting you of a crime. Otherwise they can simply say your car is too old or you’re not allowed to own more than one car and seize it.

    The thing is though, my sewage was pouring into my yard because the City put in illegal pipe designs back there so my sewer pipes ran into 5 other houses down the other street, and the City would never fix it, claiming that my road was a private street and they didn’t have to.
