This is the last of the performance luxury vehicle reviews from the Automotive Video Awards this fall. Thank you all for your support of the videos! Over the next few months I'll be getting back to posting more affordable performance vehicles and a few more ordinary cars as well. I always try to keep a balance of both the cool and expensive cars as well as the affordable fun stuff in hopes of having content that is interesting for everyone no matter what type of car reviews you like the most.

Bought this exact car for my wife. Very happy with it. The exhaust sound at startup is awesome. The faux tips in back doesn’t bother me as it keeps them clean with the true pipes hidden below. Agreed on the lack of touch screen. Vented seats not available w/those diamond stitched leather seats. Have the sport pkg w/red calipers but got 20” wheels/tires for the all season tires. I enjoy your videos keep up the great work.
Never have commented before but did so since I REALLY appreciated the touch of adding slow motion effects while showing the interior like center console. Not sure why, but for some reason it made it easier to comprehend. Thanks!

It's funny seeing the same press cars circling between you, Redline Reviews & all other youtube reviewers lol you can tell it's the same car because it has the exact color & options. Always appreciate your reviews Matt - more than anything the weekly updates.. those are sweet. Keep it up! You bring a unique take to the industry.

Me either. But customers were complaining that their rear bumpers where getting sooty on the old model....so now they dump the exhaust behind the cover so it keeps the outside clean. Guess they just can't win!
Neither am I, but I guess it makes more sense if customers were complaining about rear bumpers getting dirty

BMW just started doing it too. Even the new M340i will have fake tips.
I’m liking the fake exhaust because I don’t have to worry about cleaning the black soot from the rear bumper. Those annoying black soot will ruin the paint if you don’t clean it. No big deal but having to clean an S2000, Golf R and ML 400 in the rear bumper can get a little tiresome. That’s why my kids help me clean the cars😂

Matt, great video!! Most of the reviews out there are too...professional and over the top shall we say? Yours gave me a real life day to day experience of what I could expect from the SQ5. I’d love to know if you’d demo’s the Porsche Macan GTS or Turbo and what your comparison thoughts are versus the SQ5, I’m seriously in the market for one of the two. Thanks!!
These new Audi looking better than ever. Idk who they designing their car before. Except the R8
I've come to like the MMI wheel vs a touchscreen primarily because once I got used to it I found it took less of my attention, I am not tempted to reach forward and fiddle with a screen while driving, I just have my hand where it normally rests anyway and I can watch the screen in the periphery as I change settings, and going over bumps don't have me tapping the wrong choice.

Just for info, it's a 19 speakers sound system producing 750 watt, not 1100 but it is indeed amazing !!

Another great review Matt. I like this car minus the lame faux exhaust ports like everyone else. With regard to the lag in acceleration you would think Audi would have that refined as long as they have been making turbo engines. The turbo 6 Ford truck engines have leap frogged the industry in a short period of time. Otherwise, besides those two aforementioned issues a really nice car especially the gauges and dash! Thanks again.
QS5 is my favourite SUV. Love it.

I’d be interested in this or the S4/S5 in my next car. Would you choose the practicality of this or the sportier look/feel of the S4 or S5 sportback? My current car is a ‘17 330i and my last two was a SUV and a hatchback so I’m not really partial to any particular style
I always like cars better than SUVs. If you don't need the extra cargo space, I'd go S4 or S5 Sportback. I think the S5 Sportback looks more interesting than the S4 so I'd go S5.

I'd like to see your take on this vs the x3m40i
sethssd My girl wants one and have driven both numerous times. The SQ5 has a lot more room and feels more spacious. The X3 feels very tight and very small seats.
The M40 engine is awesome as well. Probably the only best part of the BMW. Love the crackles on the exhaust. Kind of expensive for a small SUV. The X5 is the same size as SQ.
The SQ5 has a great sound too and wins on the looks in and out.
Good video again matt" does the SQ5 feel faster/better than the Mercedes GLC 43 coupe ? wich would you buy as I'm thinking of a suv to swop with bmw m4
If you don't mind a slightly stiffer ride I liked the GLC43 better. If after a test drive the GLC43 feels like it might be too stiff, then I'd suggest checking out the SQ5 and seeing if the throttle response is okay for you.

I would much rather have the scroll wheel then touch screen! Finger prints all over the screen suck when driving! Its also a pain to try and tap certain things while driving. But They should have a touch screen, the scroll wheel, touch pad and gesture control like the xbox Kinect does. Let the people pick. Oh well. Also the fake exhaust sucks! Other then that its a near perfect car! Just wish it had 600 hp hehe

Hmmm.......this SQ5 looks suspiciously similar to the one that Sofyan Bey reviewed on his Redline Reviews video release yesterday. The AvA better start doing rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets first dibs on their reviews.

you can get a nicely equipp macan s for about the same price, no point in getting the audi, plus like matt said that pdk is golden

NYRfan 97 well shouldn’t do it anyways since you’re taking a hand off the wheel.
This is shift by wire, so since no mechanical connection, it doesn't matter.

Good review as always Matt. I’m dissapointed in the car though! Plastic paddles, faux carbon fibre trim and plastic inserts to look like the exhaust? I’d expect more when paying that sort of money for a car. Poor show from Audi

The fake exhaust ruined here what is otherwise a very nice vehicle. They would have done better to offer optional real exhaust outlets to those who prefer.

The 2018 SQ5 is all new and on a new platform. Within 12 months (when the 2019 model comes out) the virtual cockpit and MMI will be outdated/obsolete. This is just unacceptable for a brand like Audi. Audi should have been more transparent and I could have avoided purchasing the vehicle. Only 2019 or newer Audi vehicles will be able to view Google Earth after 2020.
Wow what a cop out those fake exhausts are. From a luxury brand on one of their high end cars too.
Fake exhaust tips will be history in 2 years max, I'm sure that Audi will notice the impact and change that shortly.

They gotta do something about that damn "conservative" exhaust. Like, I'm sure people don't buy it for the "conservative-ness" look.
Also, it probably dies like that until mid-range because its a turbo. I bet a supercharger on that thing will give you what you want. Or just go get the transmission/torque fields changed ;)

The audi SQ5 doesn't have enough S to justify the badge. Too slow. Every other S model is mid 4 second 0-60, not this lazy 5.1 second "S".

You squeak when you drive fast cars and you do it when you drive slow cars. Makes it look fake and forced.
Nothing is ever fake or forced. Watch my Camaro ZL1 review and then watch this. Clearly the levels of reactions vary greatly. A sub 5 second 0-60 time is still exciting for me...
im used to fast cars, so when i drove this car i was underwhelmed by its speed. your reaction of how loud your squeak is can vary but youre still squeaking driving a slow car that makes no noise
But it makes noise and it's not slow...
