Like none of us has issues and problems. Erin I thought was pretty and the actress that played Jenny piccolo always spoke kindly of her. Nope. It was good of him to use their fame to warn people. Idk how many "stars" were just shooting stars due to substance abuse. All the famous people need to do more to a) avoid it for themselves and b) warn their fans.
He might have been angry with her Yes we all pretend it had nothing to do with it. I've known many people that died the same way and we all knew why. Yes its more polite to pretend it had zero to do with it. You have no idea what its like to deal with a friend or family member with the disease. If you do you would not have typed what you did. I heard the same story as Mr.Baio regarding Ms.Moran. It was very well publicized the Ms.Moran was using hard illegal drugs and had become homeless. I had also heard (a little later) that she had been diagnosed with cancer. It is sad that anyone has to die of cancer, regardless of lifestyle choices, but choices do change life outcome....
I like Mr.Baio and think he is a "good guy", and his explanation is good enough for me.....

I agree…he even stated I went by the information I had that her habits may have contributed to her disease. He didn’t mean to seem unkind. But what I wonder is how she managed to be practically penniless living in a mobile home I believe. No shame in that but a stretch for a former very famous tv celebrity. Still very sad she suffered and died so young.

I met a man whose body blew up four times his normal size. He was immediately put on dialysis. Poor guy could not even bend his knees. He explain this is what I get for drinking and drugs. When she died, I thought it was some kind of overdose. I saw her in a club once and she was acting pretty wild.

If he had any sense he would know drug abuse is a disease. Even if drugs contributed to her cancer which caused her death, she still deserves the respect.
The death of Erin Moran is a very sad and tragic outcome for someone that suffered from drug addiction and mental illness, but God forbid we speak honestly about someone. Erin’s drug and mental issues were well known, and she made some horrible accusations about many of her Happy Days costars, that turned out to be false. Common sense will tell you that someone in their 40’s who dies suddenly and has a long history of chronic substance abuse most likely died from drugs… not a stretch at all. Baio knew she had these issues, as did all her former costars and he said nothing false or degrading. Baio is not liked by the media because he is a conservative Christian. The media searches for opportunities to point out anything negative they can about Christian conservatives, and Baio has been a target for years. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the media would treat him and those with similar beliefs, as they would rather elevate an atheist, know drug addict, or anyone with questionable morals. It is sad that that is where are media is today, but anyone that doesn’t notice it is either blind or has similar thoughts.

During Happy Days it was a well known “secret” that Scott and Erin were in and out of each others dressing rooms/ trailers having sex any chance they had. Can you blame them? They were teenagers and had every opportunity to indulge, and did. When they broke up I don’t think Erin handled it very well. Scott went on to another successful series and dated famous women and Erin’s career died. I think that had a profoundly negative effect on her.

I tend to agree with Scott on some political issues, so I have nothing against him. However, Nicole Eggert made claims that Baio sexually molested her. Maybe it is true, maybe it is not, but it does not feel good to be accused of something that may not be true. I'm sure Erin Moran had some drug issues during her life, but maybe she was getting clean before her death. I doubt Scott Baio was keeping in close contact with her at that time, so how does he know. At least Baio can defend the accusations against himself, but Erin could not. It's also disrespectful to her family. He should have just given condolences to the family and said nothing more. If she had died of a drug overdose, we do not need Scott Baio to tell us drugs are bad. I hope that most people know that. I do commend him for apologizing and saying he regretted saying that.
