The BEST Way To Learn Rhythm, Counting + Strumming!

  • The Chord Progression Codex is NOW AVAILABLE! shorturl.at/bouLV
    Get the rhythm course here! signalsmusicstudio.com/produc...
    The course contains 52 videos and teaches the basics and advanced concepts of rhythm, counting, strumming, and meter. It is taught on guitar, but you only need basic guitar skills (ability to play chords) to begin the course. As the course advances in rhythmic complexity, more guitar skills are introduced and taught with many exercises.
    If you play banjo, mandolin, or ukelele, you should STILL take the course! Just replace the chords and picking/strumming techniques with those that are specific to your instrument.
    This stuff isn't always taught. After making this course, it's clear to me why! It's very difficult to organize in a linear fashion that is practical, understandable, and efficient. I hope I've achieved that with the Signals Rhythm Training for Guitar Course (that's it's official name!)
    A billion thanks to my Patreon subscribers for keeping me going in my CZcams absence! You can join them at www.patreon.com/signalsmusicstudio . They also get credit for error-checking and beta testing most of this course over the last month.
    Now that this is done you can expect I'll start uploading to CZcams again. No promises on how quickly I get things done but I promise you I have some fun ideas that I'm excited to share....
    Here's what's in the course:
    Beats + Tempo
    8th notes

      @@SignalsMusicStudio Hey Jake, Firstly thanks so much for the effort you put in to helping people learn music. Its really valiant.
      If I could just say, I think it would be really handy to have a way to pay for the course after completion. A lot of people might not have money to pay at first but could afford it by the time they finish for whatever circumstance. Or maybe people dont want to pay for something up front that they're aren't entirely sure is for them... My problem with the Sam Harris model was I signed up when I didn't have money but had no way to pay a few months later when I did have enough (and genuinely wanted to), without waiting for the entire year subscription to finish. Maybe a follow up email could be good or a link at the end of the course prompting again? I mean you dont want to pressure some who actually cant afford it, but some people genuinely would want to pay after the fact when they can, and way to be able to would be awesome.
      Food for thought.

    I have taken this course already as I am a patreon. It may be the best guitar/music course I have ever taken. It’s incredible.
    The range from absolute simplicity to deep complexity is bridged beautifully so that you don’t feel overwhelmed or unprepared as it gets more difficult.
    As always Jake is one of the greatest teachers in the world at anything, definitely the best guitar teacher around.
    I love the way he breaks things down, into the smallest possible step by step, so that you’re even learning things that you thought you already knew and end up feeling a real sense of mastery over the whole subject, especially when, because of the strong foundation he built brick by brick, you get to the difficult levels and it’s manageable and not that difficult or intimidating.
    And the fact that it’s pay what you can...! I mean... come on!! Unbelievable. I paid 25$ - an incredible deal! Im so appreciative of the course that I plan to donate more when I can down the line so that I’ll slowly end up paying more for it than that but it’s definitely worth hundreds of dollars.
    I hope that Jake continues to make more and more courses. I can think of so many that would be amazing. A course in harmony and chord theory, melody composition, fingerpicking guitar, lead soloing and improvising, sound engineering and music production etc, etc. I would pay 150$ for any and all of these courses easy.
    Thanks for putting all the hard work. May you be blessed in kind and find goodness every where you look.

    I've been playing guitar for about six years now... and I like to think I'm getting pretty good. I've spent thousands of hours practicing and learning songs, scales, lead progressions, theory, modes, etc. I can play just about anything.
    ~~~~~~~~
    I sound nothing like a professional musician.
    ~~~~~~~~
    I came to that realization upon listening to my own recordings. Why is it that after all this time, all this effort, that some jerk playing four chords at open mic still sounds better than me?!
    One word: rhythm.
    I didn't realize this was the missing piece until I saw your "I'm making a rhyme course" video a couple months ago. Instantly I knew I needed this course! I've been working through the first few lessons and already feel an improvement. Deliberate focus on my (lack of) rhythm is what I really need at this stage in my musical journey.
    THANK YOU.

    Jake has the most awesome patreons in the world! What a fantastic opportunity this is!
    I took a nose dive with severe stress two years ago, and my ability to concentrate has not returned since, so I'm on pension now. My neural doctor told me that learning to play a string instrument would be very beneficial for my recovery as it reinforces the connections between the left and right brain halves. So, uh, yeah. I'm the target audience: I have one guitar. I can play about five chords. I can muster ten dollars, and I suck at rhythm in about twenty ways.
    Thanks Jake. You're one of the few teachers who manages to keep my flailing attention. You're always perfectly concise. No uhms and ahhs. No filler talk. Just the right amount of context to understand the where were going, and then straight talk that was clearly well prepared. You're an outright *godsend* in communication for people who used to be able to read technical documentation for 12 hours straight, but now have to check an 8 item shopping list 5 times to not leave the store with the wrong stuff :-/
    I'm thankful that I can call myself one of your students in about 5 minutes. I had already eyeballed your courses... but pension. So thank you! And thanks to your awesome patreons!

    Hey man, you have been so helpful with relearning music theory. I was a band nerd and started guitar at 9. I learned everything but woodwinds but at about 18 yrs old my life plummeted into chaos and I didn't get to play music again consistently until covid, I'm 37 lol so it was a long time I lost a LOT of knowledge. It's been coming back steadily since covid struck in 2019 and I'm finally just about to start my music channel. My wife and I of 8 years split in August and it really pushed me to move forward with everything I'd been procrastinating. Thank you again man! You are an asset to the musical community and a valuable resource to anyone trying to learn or just get better. I recommend signals to everyone who tells me they want to learn an instrument.

    I spent the first two years learning guitar on scales, CAGED, intervals, chord construction and music theory, you have been one of my best most trusted sources. I use CZcams backing tracks to practice what I learn. All that said it still wasn’t right. I did pay for this course and 10 pages in it has changed everything. I finally feel like I’m learning to play my instrument. I can’t recommend this course enough and do in all the Guitar social media groups I’m in. Thank you so much, you have truly changed my life and helped me along this life time goal journey. I now know I will be a great guitar player as long as I stay the course. I can’t thank you enough!

    guys the course is worth it please play this man if you can. I've struggled with bad rhythm my whole life and this structured well planned out lesson is definitely helping. its a bootcamp to whip yourself in shape I've been doing 3 videos a day roughly there are videos explaining the terms and uses of notes then there are practice videos which you play along with him. I'm going to to give more money when I can.its worth it trust me Jake is a good teacher
