Good luck on finding that tagged red bud. I like that spinner bait but I use the one that has the small spinner under the jig head more.
I got a few of them too some even with a bucktail and a under spin!

Hey Coop, I am not sure how its done now but I once released the redfish for the tournament from the cause way all the way down to South Padre. The year we did we stayed in intercoastal the whole time and released one every 7 miles.

I use The red fish magic and spinner Bates and a gold spoon I also use a wake bait from 6 cents Those are the best ones you can use and some top water Well we are going out almost every day trying to catch our tag redfish too

my dad entered that CCA Star tournament also and was in second place for gafftop salt cats😂. Only for like, a few days, with a 2 pound gafftop. Lol but like I said only a couple or few days and there’s like, a five pounder or something on their posted website leader boards now. First prize for a gafftop is a frikkin’ boat!

In the last 5 years, most of the tagged reds were caught in the Corpus area. All reported catches were brought to Roy's Bait & Tackle so I say your chances are pretty good dude. Good luck brotha!
