  • Peter Ashley's 'Easy X Chair' was next to enter the den seeking £75,000 in return for a 15% equity stake in his hybrid multi-gym lazy boy manufacturing company, but Duncan sidetracks the pitch with his cardio session.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

It's also quite cheap. £500 for a comfy chair and gym equipment is rather good.
And for someone that doesn't have a lot of space, I agree it's useful. I mean I usually go outside for exercise or go to my boxing gym. But sometimes it's just too hot or too icy outside or there's a worldwide epidemic going on and this would be perfect should any of those situations occur.

My grandfather, who uses a walker, hardly leaves the house and just does simple exercises by lifting his legs while sitting on a chair. He also walks back and forth in the small gap between the bed and the wall to catch himself in case he falls (he doesn't use the walker when doing this exercise). Something compact and multipurpose like this that can just sit in his room AND give him stability from a safety perspective would be really useful for him.

if it was affordable and good looking to an extent that people would have no problems having it in their homes - which both are fully possible - Im sure many people would like to have this product, at least many enough that this would make a good profit.. Its all in one, space-saving, "incentivizing" (meaning that it has a low threshold to take out and use, contrary to going to the gym, costing lots of money every month, which may be a "support-membership (paying for a service you don't use)), can be used while doing other stuff (TV, work etc) etc etc.
Its not the "weight lifting"-mechaninc that are the selling point. What really gets you in good shape and keeps you healthy is cardio, and this thing had both cycling and running as an option.
      I love this product!

I remember seeing this on the tv, the early days of dragons den. I find the way the dragons are laughing and mocking him very disrespectful. It's actually a really good idea, its very practical, resourceful, inventive, creative. lots of people want to keep fit but don't like the idea of going to a fitness centre, or can't physically get there, and they don't have many people in fitness centres over forty despite what Duncan claims, it would also save a lot of money on gym membership, not to mention space. hope he did make money on an invention, if not this then something else.

I think it's quite a great concept for the older market. He just didn't get the target market right. The one chair with multiple light exercise functions would be perfect for home physiotherapy and the elderly who don't want to go to a gym.
My late father had a stroke and this would have been perfect for him at home outside of his normal physiotherapy hours in either the hospital or a rehab centre. He would have been able to sit in front of the telly with the exercise bike going or do some light muscle exercises.
The only thing is that it needs tweaking to be more streamlined and less clunky for the setup.
