There was some logic to Rory’s opinion there with the amount of disappointments that have come from the Bundesliga, that’s where he got that from.

    • @astrojeet
      @astrojeet Před 2 měsíci +17

@r8948 No there was no logic nor analysis. Only idiots see correlation in causation. It's a low resolution 2 bit analysis to think a Bundesliga striker will fail in the premier league just because some strikers have failed in the past.
You have to look at why those strikers failed than just think it's because they are from the Bundesliga. Take Timo Werner, he's slow and not physical and he's not press resistant. These traits are the main reason why players don't succeed in the Premier League.
If you look at how Haaland plays, he's got everyone of those traits. Haaland is very very quick, he's very big and strong and he muscles people off of him and holds the ball well. That basically covers all traits meaning he's press resistant, very quick, tall and very physcial, very few defenders in the league can out muscle him if any. Haaland is a player built for the league. Players like Werner were doomed from the start. Now of course you don't need all these traits, but physicality or press resistant are the two main attributes. You need at least one of those two attributes.
Also do you really think Pep would sign a player who would not fit into his team and the league? This is Pep, best manager in the world.

I am sorry but saying this decline started under clearlake is not entirely true. Three of those finals loses were under Roman. We haven't been competitive domestically especially in the league since Conte which has seen Arsenal and Spurs overtake us. Are we forgetting we spent a ton on Lukaku, Werner, Havertz, Ziyech etc and they were on insane wages. We have been in steady decline but Clearlake turbocharged it.
They've invested so much, they must care. And their willingness to do us gives some hope that theyll want to turn it around

100% spot on! I also have been saying this. We hadn't been in a title race since we won it under Conte. We were gradually slipping in standards, and lets face it, as good as that UCL was, it papered over many cracks.
Our transfer dealings were terrible toward the end of roman.
      Our windows
      Lukaku - massive fail
Werner, Havertz, Ziyech - all no longer with us and massively underwhelmed. Chilwell the only success.
Pulisic and Kova around the time of the transfer ban. Both underwhelming.
Throw in the Drinkwaters, the Zappacostas, Bakayoko's, Morata etc and we haven't had a good window since Conte's first season and that was mainly Kante.
Totally agree. Clearlake have blown up the whole thing when it only needed a few tweaks, though you can't keep having bad transfer windows and not feel the effects eventually.

The problem with many Chelsea fans is that they believe sacking managers and buying players are the only solution to all their problems. It may have worked in the Roman era, but since they lost their backbone members who had that leadership, the whole team lost their spirit.
Some times you need to be patient and install the right mentality back to the squad. This is what Ferguson and Klopp did well. Pick the right players with the right mentality.

Matisse is bang on. Having watched a lot of Enzo, he has all the makings of a world class CM. He has the passing range and vision of Fabregas, but also has a physical presence and aggression. The problem is that he isn't getting enough support from Caicedo next to him, and the team just lacks structure and a pattern of play. At any side competing for a top four spot this season, Enzo would immediately be bagging hatfuls of assists.

the thing if Chelsea decide to go for a new manager, they would need someone under the radar like Ange or Mourinho bcs why would a decorated manager go to Chelsea when Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are looking for managerial jobs and those teams are 2nd/1st in the league, have european competitions and don't have teams filled with kids and horrible sporting directors.
I said Mourinho bcs he is Chelsea's old manager and disrespect for Mourinho is crazy rn (which is wrong).

    Now the game plan
It starts from GK ,we still don’t know how to distribute ball from back ,most of the time we mess up against high press team ,and still no solution.
World most expensive mid field ,do we see any optimistic control at mid field, answer is no .
At the front ( last third ) we have no innovation ,no clues .In training I don’t know what we practice ? Most of the time we shoot ball at the opponent GK.We have stop missing sitters and one to one chances.

Most of Chelsea`s current issues, are things Rory wished for
Rory wanted Tuchel out, Rory wanted Lukaku(the first time), Rory wanted Chelsea(to get Boehly in) Rory wanted Chelsea to sell(Werner, Havertz, and Jorginho all of which are better then everyone Chelsea currently has outside of maybe Thiago Silva), Rory wanted Roman to leave Chelsea, and let`s not forget that Rory wanted both Potter and Lampard.
so while i`m not a Chelsea fan, if Chelsea achieves some kind of success again, he has no right to celebrate it.

The season that Arsenal became invincibles they beat Chelsea into 2nd place the manager at the time was Raneri by 11 points. On 90 Chelsea 79 points Man utd 75 points with Sir Alex as Man utd Manager and no money. Before that Vialli won 6 trophys with Chelsea FA cup League cup UEFA cup winners cup and the UEFA super cup..before that Ruud Gullit. FA cup.. I could go on
... So you clearly have no idea who Chelsea were before. What Chelsea did not win was the league or prem at the time before Abramovich bought the club.. That's when he sacked Raneri and brought in Mourinho and started to spend money on players to win the Prem.. This time round Clearlake the Americans are spending the club's money recklessly who don't really understand the game.. Plus who understand their game hand ball (American Football) or base ball.. this time round the chelsea owners are clueless acting like chickens caught in headlights they only want to make a profit and are not interested in Trophies or winning. American owners at Spurs, Arsenal, Man U.. Burnley etc those that come to mind and there are few other clubs in the English game..Liverpool being the exception at the moment. We will see how it goes when Klopp leaves at the end of the season.. so being bought by Americans says it all.

Painful to listen to. There’s blockers on a corner stopping runs to gather momentum to run where the opposition wants and to jump. Our ball winners in the air are to mark the danger zones. They do have the capacity to run a jump. As soon as the ball is out of the danger zone it is up to the smaller players to make contact with the ball. Lampard always occupied the Mudryk zone near the front section of the post and always delivered when in his zone. Strong and showed authority. But was never great in one on one situations. Mudryk was weak in his zone. Didn’t judge the flight of the ball at all. Axel did his absolute best to try and cover both zones. The moral of this is you don’t want your big guys to vacate the danger zones as there could be many false runs by the opposition to isolate weaker players.

I think it's also important to remember, you haven't spent £1b, some of it is split over future seasons, so your future spending is tied up for several years, you already have to sell some players as soon as the summer window opens just for FFP, and because of the Euros that means you only have two weeks to do that, then it's going to be sell to buy for several transfer windows to come, the future is bleak as even a new manager is going to have his hands tied, and if you do end up being reprimanded for FFP, well things could just go from bad to worse, the only answer is get rid of Boehly, that idiot is clueless, Mourinho will make things worse, he's too old skool for the modern day premier league.

@@nmz3450 I agree that losing Abramovich is the root cause, but the crazy new owners came and rocked the boat even further by firing Tuchel for a Brighton novice, instead of allowing the storm to calm before mapping a way forward. Maybe tuchel was on the decline maybe not, but they handled that issue naively, and we are seeing the domino effect. Even players proven to be good elsewhere are struggling.
