    I got my V90 a few days ago and I can hardly bring myself to put it down. I haven't even installed the cfw yet but it's already a lot of fun right out of the box. I got a cheap GBA SP carrying pouch wich has enough room for a charger and cable and some extra batteries on the side. It's a tight fit but should be perfect for long road trips. I also got a separate battery charger for at home because I thought that would work better. But it gets dangerously hot (I can smell the plastic) so I think I'll look for a better one. I'm still waiting for some (allegedly) 2450mAh batteries
    I have no other handhelds to compare it with. So I'm sure if you're used to Anbernic or something you'll notice a difference in quality. But for the price I can't really find any faults. The L and R buttons work fine for me and the 'cheap' plastic casing doesn't bother me either. Especially considering the amount of games I never got a chance to play before when I was young already pre-installed it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. I'm very nearsighted so I don't mind the small screen either. I absolutely love it

    After owning this device for a few months now, gotta say I still love it but the V90 might be the better option over-all. The one functionality I'd really love on the Q90 which is present in the V90 is the ability to pause/suspend the game at any time. With the V90, you can just close the clamshell at any time, but there's no dedicated pause/suspend function in the Q90 and I like to take this system on the go more than my RG351P (which I don't want to accidentally damage).

    So I'm looking to get a cheap handheld and this or the V90 will probably be it, so I watched both of your videos (which are fantastically informative, thank you). Something struck me about what you said about PS1 emulation, though - that most games would only run at about 50fps out of the box. Does that mean if you run PAL ROMs they'll work at about full speed, or am I over simplifying the problem?

    • @RetroGameCorps
      @RetroGameCorps  Před 2 lety

      That's a bit of an oversimplification, even PAL roms will only run at like 45fps. It doesn't make mathematical sense but that's how it works. If you want solid PS1 you'll want to bump up to a JZ4770 chipset unit, like in the PlayGo, RG350, RG280, or RG300X devices.

    What would it take to get bluetooth audio on a device like this? Are there any simple, small bluetooth dongles you could put in either the headphone port or the usb-c port?

    • @wordsmith451
      @wordsmith451 Před 3 lety +1

      It’s hard to find a dongle that would be comfortable to use and not interfere with holding the device. It’s an inelegant solution at best, and a decent adapter will cost pretty much the same as this device.
      For the price of this handheld, you’re not going to get that kind of feature built-in, and even on handhelds that do have it (like the Retroid Pocket 2 which costs $80) you likely won’t have the best experience.
      I recommend just getting a $10 pair of wired headphones for use with this device.

      @@wordsmith451 yeah I've been waiting on a device this small but capable for a while now. I always take my Bluetooth headphones out with me, it won't be that much more space to take the cable along too (or just some earbuds like you say).
      I already have a little dongle for my switch that lets it work with bluetooth audio but if it's not compatible I won't be too disappointed.
