I don't see anyone talk about this, but you can also give the egg to Temmie at the end of chapter 2 in the classroom. It even tells you how many you've collected so far
My theory is the exact opposite - Toby's well known for hiding secrets like this, the ultimate plot twist would be if the eggs had no plot significance whatsoever, they were just pointless Easter eggs to distract fans from thinking about other parts of the game's lore. I mean, player choice and lack of control are big themes in Deltarune, your choices regarding the eggs having no impact at all would fit in with that pretty well.
I wonder if something's gonna happen after putting all the eggs in their respective places Will the egg guy appear and open the secret egg door or what?
Same happened with me and I hadn't talked to temmie. It just said "seems there's more eggs than usual" or something like that. It may have just automatically gone in the pile in the earlier build
Okay okay okay, I know this may be a little bit dumb, but what if the eggs are not only related to the big G himself, but to the player too? Think about it for a second, Deltarune is a world where your decisions don't matter, it's a world with pre established choices with no derivation and everything runs the way it's meant to do, but you and Mr G work against that, struggling to make a change in the world, and the only way you are able to accomplish this is with two things at the moment, Noelle and the eggs, Noelle is not part of the legend, and you as the player work outside of Kris's control to commit atrocities, even if everybody doesn't like that, but the eggs? Those are objects outside the reach of the world, a glitch in the matrix if you will, an extra egg that the world does not comprehend, even Susie is a little alarmed from such change, maybe, the eggs are you as the player finding small cracks in this world, since you are a monster and have a power fetish, you slowly finding openings, even on the smaller things, can lead you to a slower control of the strings of this world, what do you think? thanks for the video Chatter!
One of my close friends livestreamed Deltarune Chapter 2 around a couple days after it came out. He found out about the room where you get ran over by the dog, but he wanted to see it again, he spent another 20-30 minutes trying to find it, but then he came across the red tree, and might have been the first one to have gotten the egg. Close friend is Used Napkin btw.
My egg disappeared when i talked to Temmie in the classroom before going to the grocery store, but the egg basket still had the dialogue like i did put it in (bug maybe?)
Hey I wanna say something what if the egg was like dog residue like when you put it in asgore's fridge it says there are two eggs now just like when you slide dog residue under the room in mtt resort
I mean it's an egg. An object which is general. Dark burgers, chalk, these things are special. But guess what? There is chalk in the dark world and I don't get it. Chalk become light candy but there is normal chalk in Susie's fridge.
the eggs are actually have no lore significance, you're just collecting them so you can egg berdly's house during halloween

@@Youtice_451 I didn't lose the egg soooooooo
My theory is that in the final version of the game if you put the objects where they belong, something will happen like a event or a secret ending.

If you take too long to go to the eggpile, the egg will go there itself. It’s odd.

If you give it to temmi at the end it saves for the next chapter
Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Leave a space for someone else' egg. Then, you can have all the eggs you'll ever need.

for some reason when I did it it skipped the first dialogue and straight to the 'theres more eggs here than usual' 🤷
