Here's a secret: When you drop into Cyber World you'll see a sparkle coming off Kris as they drop in. That is the Rules Card, explaining why Rouxls disappears from your inventory after that and appears later.
Inspecting Lancer immediately he also mentions that Rouxls jumped out of your pocket, calling it a very Dadcrobatic move(Lesser).

24:40 You forgot to mention that if you inspect the moss after meeting back up with Susie and Ralsei, then Susie will comment that she's touched you saved the moss for her, and you all eat the moss... together. Susie's title is then upgraded to Moss Enjoyer.

No they don’t? Ending cutscene for chapter 1 kris has normal white eyes. It’s definitely meaningful and isn’t some normal detail.

During the "December" talk with Noelle, around the b, when she goes behind one of those black panels, her sprite turns into a sprite of her as a child.
I thought I saw something wierd during that but couldn't put my finger on it

I've got one for Gaster that very few people have noticed: In the largest letter/password puzzle where you have to walk on letters to match what's already spelled out, if you talk to Susie, she jokes about the idea of one letter being missing so you can never solve the puzzle. Well if you pay close attention, it has all the letters to spell out "GASTER" except for the letter T. Furthermore if you look in the game's files, it has sound effects for all the letters from A to U... except for T. So T could be left out intentionally.

I actually found something that when you go to the graveyard at the end of chapter 2, talk to the person there and ask about Asriel; they will talk about how Asriel would confess his "sins" since he tried to "jump off the lizard in a pit to get a bigger jump" or something like that. They then talk about it also happening in a video game, this is referencing players leaping off of Yoshi in various Mario games to save themselves from falling into a pit
And also talking to Toriel at the end of chapter 1? will tell you that Asriel really liked Yoshi in the deltarune version of super smash bros, and they had a whole yoshi themed birthday party
He specifically called it a "videos game" and Asriel confessed to a bunch of Kris' "sins" as well

the more i play deltarune… the more i realize things about Undertale. Theres so many connections
Yeah, Gerson especially. He went from a fairly minor character to _possibly_ one of the most important npcs from the original game. His knowledge of the Deltarune in Undertale, him being the only non amalgamate that's died prior to Deltarune, his classroom being the chapter 1 darkworld (and _being replaced by Alphys,_ ) the Lord of the Hammer series, along with the connection that in Undertale he himself was a hero (among other things like his memorial bench's dialogue) heavily alludes to him being the previous Lightner in the darkworld, and that Lord of the Hammer books were an autobiography.
I got a bit off track, but I ADORE how Deltarune recontextualizes old characters with new importance.

Deltarune really reminds me of the other side of games. The side that feels like the dev genuinely cares about making a game that people can talk about for years instead of just figuring how to squeeze as much microtransaction money out of each person. It’s nice to see that people like Toby Fox still exist in the industry.
There is always a significant, noticeable difference between games made out of greed, and games made out of passion. The developer's genuine love for their creation can be felt in every detail in a well made game. Crazy to think Undertale started out as just a random kickstarter, what if it didn't get the support it needed? What if our world missed out on Undertale and Deltarune? Damn.
Something I found, if you threw Ralsei's manual away in chapter 1 the stand for the manual in your room gets replaced by a trashcan, and ralsei says you can throw away any other manuals he makes in there.

At 9:35, noelle says that Kris told her that "Ice-E was real and eats kids." In Noelle's room in the queen's mansion, there's an ice-E thing (plush? statue? I forgot) that was found from search result "is ice-E real cryptid."
It was probably already noticed by someone, but it's just a neat callback to the first chapter

I have another easter egg, if you gave JevilsTail to Noelle and you didn't take it off when she's captured.
After defeating Queen and sealed the fountain, you can interact with that hole and you will get the "JevilsTail"

Something interesting to note. In the Snow Grave Route's final fight. When calling for Ralsei and Susie, it specifies that Kris calls for them and then when you call for Noelle, it specifies "You" whisper her name. The game very much suggest that it's the Player that calls Noelle and not Kris.
At the beginning of the second Chapter, there's a bookshelf outside of the room. Within it, there's a book that Asriel once had titled 'How to draw dragons' and having a 'purple character dressed... immodestly' on the cover.
Somehow, I feel that has to reference one thing or another.
In chapter 1 if you talk to berdly he reveals that it’s heavily overdue

You can see Spamton's eyes in the basement. You need to go in the room that doesn't have any doors and you have to wait for the cups.
You need to time correctly. Stay on the right side of the room, go to the other side when you hear the cups coming. You can see Spamton's smile for a few seconds.

I believe Kris being the knight is a red herring. Queens speech at the end about making a world better than the light world with their dark world fountains might be how Kris learned how to open a fountain and you cant really dispute that Kris is having a better time in imagination/dark world after his parents divorce and Asriel has moved out. Kris slashing the tires is malevolent but strikes me more as not wanting Susie to go home, a kid doing something outrageous because they don't understand the ramification and act upon their own desires only.
Slashing the tiers might be malevolent, just an attempt to get Susie to stay over. Or, as a few others pointed out elsewhere, also a deliberate attempt to draw the attention of the police, specifically Undyne, in preparation of Kris opening the Dark Fountain and another Dark World. He tried to warn her about the danger the Dark Worlds posed while at the station after all - Undyne didn't believe him, she derisively laughed the whole idea off in fact. But if she enters it herself, Toriel too and Ralsei is present to explain the whole situation...
One thing I noticed that I’m not sure other people noticed is how when the annoying dog kills you, you don’t get the normal Game Over screen, you get the Undertale Game Over screen. Music and all.
Just a cool thing I noticed that nobody seems to notice.
I noticed too, don't worry about it lol. That death music got me super nostalgic. But I don't know what could be the implications of that, it's just a troll segment so it may not mean much lol.
So is it just me, or has nobody ever thought that just like how Toby did a bait and switch kind of deal with the knife at the end of Chapter 1, maybe the same thing happened here in Chapter 2? Obviously Toby wants us to think Kris opens a dark fountain right in their home, but I think they just simply hit a pipe that started leaking gas.

I don’t know if anyone has found this yet but the song “Digital Roots” (which plays in the Basement where you get the empty disk) The Songs Melody is actually the same melody (all be it slower and deeper) as the beginning of “Your Best Nightmare”

@@KiraSlith I think Mettaton is just like in Undertale before he met Alphys. Flamboyant with a wish for stardom but without an opportunity to reach it very "shy".
There are two more secrets i know.
The First: if you stand still next to the left plug in the secret basement, the plug will slowly start to have a creepy smile.
The second: When entering the door in the basement where you have to wait for the teacup ride to pop up, if you walk to the left edge and then back to the right and then quickly to the left edge again, there is a creepy face, probably resembling the face in the TV and in my opinion maybe Mike.

I always figured it might be a key item with some kind of secret use in the end. I think I'll keep all my glowshards and shadow crystals, unless I'm offered something particularly appealing.

One minor thing that’s not super secret or anything, but there are a ton of hints that Kris really REALLY doesn’t like being controlled. Whenever you make a questionable choice Kris strains to do it or there is dialogue where he clearly is doing it against his will.
yeah!! that, or kris changes their inflection to show that they don't really mean what you made them say
like when you choose to "join" berdly and the queen and kris makes it sound like they're mocking them, or when you choose that you'd want to go with noelle or ralsei to the festival instead of susie and they sound confused
What I find interesting is that Kris is apparently ok with some choices the player makes, and even goes along with some things that seem fun. Like when you answer "perish" to when Queen asks if you'd rather serve her or perish, Susie says that they said it very enthusiastically, which I feel is them going along with the joke answer. To me that makes sense since Noelle notes that Kris is apparently a bit of a prankster and their internet searches have stuff like magic tricks and fun internet videos. I think when we play nicely we stick closer to Kris' true nature so they don't struggle so much with our choices.
Another thing I don't see many people talking about is that I feel Kris is not very interested in a relationship with Ralsei. Ralsei tea heals them for half as much as Susie tea, and if you choose that they would take Ralsei to the festival when asked by Susie, she says they sound confused about their own answer, because it's the answer we the players chose, not the choice they would've made. Same for Noelle, but that one is obvious since they know Noelle has a huge crush on Susie.
@@eeyuup kris seems to be a very mischevous person when we're not in control, based on toriel mentioning them putting bath bombs in the toilet and all he shenanigans rudy said they were up to as kids (putting ketchup on themselves to scare noelle, hiding under noelle's bed to spook her, that kinda stuff) so the sillier choices like touching the cheese or eating the moss or getting lost in the craftsmanship of the berdly statue is probably right up their alley! which is very fun
and yeah susie is very much their favorite JDFSKJKDS it's sweet imo
good example is in the hallways with all the search history rooms, there's a room for Asriel. When you're asked to go inside and say yes, Kris specifically opens the door and closes their eyes. Which means that Kris wanted to respect the privacy of their brother, but because they were basically "forced" to by us; they cleverly close their eyes when going in.
@@eeyuup I think the reason for Kris not liking Ralsei has do with some resentment towards Asriel for leaving. Maybe Kris being controlled is somehow Asriel’s fault, or Kris just feels abandoned and vulnerable. If that isn’t the case, I don’t know why Kris wouldn’t like Ralsei when literally everyone else on the planet does
Great vid, missed one detail:
You get a trashcan in your room if you tossed Ralsei's manual twice, and a funny comment about it
there's also a really interesting dialogue from Father Alvin in the graveyard area. Gerson in Deltarune was a story writer and a teacher. According to Father Alvin he was a smith by trade. He wrote a book series, "Lord of the hammer."
Making comparisons back to Undertale, Gerson used to be a hero, the Hammer of Justice. Undyne watched him fight on multiple occasions. I assume the hammer, being an important symbol in his life, is why they chose to bury it alongside him, which I assume is the ritual Father Alvin mentions. Undertale is supposedly not the same universe as deltarune but you can't help but make connections like this.
What I find most interesting about this scene is father alvin's mumbling while you're on your way out of the graveyard. "*Were you proud of me, Father...? *And ...Is it right for this hammer to..."
Also the fact that characters now acknowledging the weirdness of the south door likely means it may play a bigger role in later chapters? The music just being "garbage noise" slowed down is freaky enough

In a tale of 2 cities the first paragraph reads: "it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness" which fits in with the whole dark world and light world.

A thing i noticed about Spamton (Neo): His laugh in the Neo bossfight reminds me of that one audiofile that was hidden in Undertale with the 7 voices talking and telling people not to share secrets they found while datamining. Might just be a coincidence but it was the first thing i thought of when I heard it.

It’s similar to how Pokemon describes where you got a Pokemon. We, the player, “got”/“captured” Kris in Chapter 1.
A little reference I found really cool.. The pose Susie does when she is surprised, is a reference to 1969 Osomatsu-kun series character, Iyami. The Shee!! is a pose used as a gag to express shock or fright. The pose became so popular, it was even referenced in movies such as godzilla.
What a cool reference, as well as a cool piece of history!
I'd assume the 'someone really cares about the details' is in reference to Ralsei. He spent the entire time you were gone setting up your intricate rooms, so dusting everything to make sure it's all neat and tidy? That's a Ralsei thing for sure.
The extra dialogue where Noelle gives Susie the chalk lunchbox will happen regardless of what you tell her about Susie, so long as you talk about her. Also, I was the one that added the flavor text for giving Noelle the light candy to the wiki, so it’s cool to see something I wrote in one of your videos, even if I just copied it directly from the game.
I can confirm. I played ch1 and ch2 specifically to make sure that this was the case! Might be a bug, but Noelle gave Susie the chalk without me telling her about it. I did exhaust the rest of the dialogue in front of the gate though.

i don't know... on my first save i told noelle that susie's nice and got no lunch box, then in my second save i told her about the chalk and got one. but, it could've been a bug on your end, could've been a bug on mine.

@@eeyuup Chapters 3-5 will supposedly release at once, and at that point the game will apparently be paid(which, you know, fair, way too much time and effort goes into all this for Toby to not make anything off of it)
I guess Chapters 6 and 7 will come _after_ that.
That said, I do hear that Toby has a team with him now, so perhaps the rest of the development will move along smoother. Perhaps
It sounds like they're hinting that we will be able to meet his brother when Asriel returns, which, if each Chapter is going to be one day, will be in Chapter 7. Sans' joke means it could be two years before Chapter 7 releases, not Chapter 3.

Fun fact: the vessel is actually saved in the game, even though it tells you it won't be. My theory is that it'll come back as the form of the Player in an epic finale battle between them and Kris.
I saw a leak scene where Kris and our vessel were meeting in a dark place. Some people said it can be true because game devs usually create the most important scenes earlier than the other scenes, and some of them said it was fake, not sure if it was real or not tho.
Might as well share my Spamton-related theory here, even if you are making a separate video for him
First, fairly simple part of the theory: next chapter is going to be TV/movie themed, based on the ending cutscene. Not much of a stretch there.
Second, actual theory: "Mike" is going to be that chapters secret boss, and he's going to be a very aptly named microphone/camera man.
It would work really well too, I think. What better character for a secret boss than a microphone/camera guy. Someone who is always there, just out of sight, but always watching. Spamton even says (at the end of his boss fight if you kill him instead of snapping wires) something like "are you getting this Mike?" as he's "changing to his next form" (exploding). That's absolutely something someone on TV would say to a cameraman
I'm thinking Mike is the MAIN boss for Chapter 3. We see Jevil hint at the QUEEN and not Spamton for Chapter 2, while here we see Spamton only reference Mike. Perhaps this'll be a theme for the 4 remaining secret bosses until the final chapter?

Mike is likely the big bad, but could easily still be camera-themed. After all, a show/movie NEEDS a camera/cameraman to be seen by other people

The reason a lot of Deltarune is set up in Undertale, is Toby had always planned on making it while working on Undertale.
I like how the 2 secret bosses (Jester and Spamton), represents Kris in a way.
For example:
Jester is the descent to madness when he learned he was controlled by the player.
And Spamton is how he is dead without his strings (the player).
Just a minor correction: seems like every dialogue choices makes Noelle give the lunch box to Susie, not just specifically the chalk one, unless they recently changed it in the most recent patch.

When you said that there could be a dark fountain under the water, I immediately though of the several doors that could become dark worlds, Currently there were two different dark worlds which are in:
1. The School
2. The Library
I looked around for other double doors in deltarune chapter 1 & 2 and I found a few other potential Dark Worlds...
1. The Hospital
2. The Flower Shop (Upstairs)
and
3. The Generator (The south area that has the Gaster noise)
I don't know if any of these places will become actual dark worlds but it would make sense as all three doors I've listed are double doors, there's also the double doors for the church and Ice-E's , but I though they were a stretch so I said its not likely...
It's a fun connecting factor to keep an eye out for, that's for sure!
It does appear that the 3rd chapter will be some sort of TV world? Unless there is something else within the house it will pull from instead. And I don't think the house has double doors?

UT and DR isn't the same universes. DR isn't UT after the pacifist route it's UT but the war never happened that's why undyne don't know alphys.

25:07 I would say this is probably referencing alignment systems from stuff like Shin Megami Tensei more than it is Dungeons & Dragons, given Toby has sited that series as a large influence on his games already. So far, even outside of this one gag, I can personally see a lot of the party members' parallels; Kris as the protagonist equivalent, Susie as a chaos hero analogue, Ralsei as law hero, and Noelle as a neutral hero/a heroine. If this joke isn't a direct reference to that series, I'd probably be willing to bet it's just a general use of the term "neutral" more than I'd bet it to be a distinct D&D reference, just from the phrasing that was used.

I loved the Homestar Runner reference with the Sweet Cap'n Cakes, in reference to "Sweet Cuppin' Cakes" from Strong Bad's crazy cartoon. Seemed like it may have been a coincidence at first, but as soon as the group started playing the demo music from an electronic keyboard...yeah, it was done on purpose.
Dunno if anyone's documented this, but...if you DON'T talk to Onionsan in chapter 1, in chapter 2, that clam gaster-follower appears instead next to the lake and says something along the lines of "There was something strange here yesterday...too bad that was YESTERDAY! It's gone now!"

Deltarune seems like the type of game where you can miss hundreds of things after one playthrough. I seriously can make a list and I've played through the game probably 5 or more times.
The explosion sound effect for Stool Forme is also used in a lot of other places in this game and is sort of becoming a meme in my eyes, being first seen in Lancer's first scene in Ch 1. Perhaps you could catalogue those occurrences as part of this series?
One thing that you didn’t mention, if you didn’t know, is that during the part of the game where Kris and Susie are heading to the Library, the sounds of the honking cars contains the themes of certain characters from Undertale.

During my playthrough I noticed that during the cinematic that plays when Ralsei talks about the titans after the final battle with Queen the titan in the middle has some weird looking eyes in the chest, which in my opinion, resemble a lot to the eyes drawn on the walls in the first Dark World area where Kris lands on in DR chapter 1. Any thoughts on this? Maybe simple foreshadowing for an upcoming chapter?
Someone in tumblr also pointed out that the titan in the middle might have been the stone statue in undertale (the one you can give an umbrella) or at least an alternative version of it..? And then there's also the fact that Darkners who goes to another fountain incompatible with them turns to stone. :/

10:00 The scene where Noelle gives Susie a lunchbox of chalk happens regardless of which dialogue choice you choose in chapter 1. I've never actually chosen the "Eats chalk" one, but that scene happens with both of the other two choices as well. It did strike me as a bit odd in my playthroughs, since it didn't make much sense for Noelle to even know that Susie eats chalk.

Yup, it's a Gaster thing. It's mysterious, it's old (possibly referring to Undertale being the older game?), and most importantly, you can't seem to remember it.
Edit: Also, Sans only says he has a "brother", he never says it Papyrus and given the strangely long time to wait just to see "Papyrus", it would make more sense of it was Gaster. Also, if you never agreed to hang out with his brother, he says he doesn't have a brother, possibly referring to how Gaster isn't present during Undertale.
Edit 2: For those saying things like "why would he need to specify it's Papyrus, the player probably thinks it's Papyrus anyway." Remember, in Undertale, when first talking about his brother, Sans says his name is Papyrus. Granted, this is only evidence from Undertale, and this was most likely just a way to tell the player Papyrus' name and in Deltarune, we know Sans has a brother named Papyrus, but either way, not a completely air-tight debunk.

I don’t think Kris is the knight. Them opening up the fountain at the end of chapter two can be explained some other way, specifically the fact that Queen explains the exact method that the knight used to open fountains. Considering the player controls kris and understands this, it’s not far fetched at all that Kris heard this as well and learned, just like the other lightners.
As for the identity of the knight, I’m on the Gaster train, but it’s not out of the question that it’s a whole new character.
Actually, seam makes it clear the mysterious person that corrupted jevil and the knight are two different characters, as he knows the knight and refers to him as a knight, but refers to the mysterious person as a mysterious man, and its HEAVILY implied this mysterious person is gaster, who corrupted both jevil and spamton (seam gives the line when talking about jevil that his vision is getting "darker yet darker" an entry 17 ref, as for spamton, in his boss theme theres a high pitched voice at the end that sounds like gasters sound byte from entry 17 but high pitched, and theres npcs that tell his story, one of them saying the guy on the phone that left spamton sounded like "garbage noise", calling in the dark world with your cell plays "mus_smile", the bg sound for entry 17, and the narrator comments it sounds like "garbage noise") so theres no way gaster is 2 characters at once

2 tiny detail, one explaining the random apparition of Rouxls kaard.
- When you jump into the second dark world you have the cutscene were Kriss and Susie change into their darkworld's appearance, with shinning white spark.
Without thoses spark you'll have noticed there is one extra white spark comming out from Kriss ... that's the sprite for items ... that item... it's Rouxls Kaard leaving your inventory.
- Undyne give you chocolates for Alphys, you can decide to be a jerk and eat it...but there is 2 possible outcome
-> you eat it while Susie is following you, you share them with her
-> you eat it while Susie is not following you (near the police station , or when you ""wash"" your hands ), the text say the chocolate destroyed your guts ... open your inventory... you have lost 1 hp

Yall know Everyman? You can see a glimpse of his face every now and then while fighting Queen and Berdly.
You can also sometimes see a glimpse of his face while fighting Jevil, and is the main attack for Reaper Bird.
Reaper Bird is an Amalgamate and Gaster is often known for working on the amalgamated or at least working in the True Lab.
Queen and Jevil are both known to have interacted with a mysterious “knight” of whom made them a little crazy (a lot crazy in Jevil’s case lmao). Plus all of the really good theories that Gaster is the knight, you could probably infer that Gaster and Everyman are definitely strongly connected in some way.
Plus, Alphys is also known for working on the amalgamates and quite likely knew Gaster before, and in Hometown after you seal the fountain, Alphys is standing in an alleyway in front of some graffiti, one of which is Everyman.
One or two last thing(s) in the game files Jevil’s real carousel has been tracked down to a carousel in a fair in Newcastle, a place in Northern England, and in Gloucestershire, Cheltenham (also in England ~trust me I live here lmao~ )there is a theatre called the Everyman Theatre. Now idk if this is a coincidence or not but if it was worth noting lmao.

TIP: To find the massive toilet all you have to do is get to the point in the game when the teleporting doors work, go to the trash place, then go to the right for a long while and eventually your path will be blocked by a giant toilet.
