An easy way to remove those pesky, wound up trimmings from the blank is to use a small nylon brush. Gently rub it across the work and it will remove them quickly and efficiently. Compressed air works nicely too, if you have access to it.

Hi Mike. This is the first video starring YOU and turning a pen that I have seen. It was very informative and thorough and makes me want to try my hand at turning pens. Wondering about finished pen pricing in general terms? One You Tube gentleman put out $70.00. Will there be a difference between wood verses wood verses resin or other cast products?

Hey Earl, turning pens with full size tools is certainly doable. The 2 I use the most are the spindle roughing gouge and skew. Have fun turning! -Mike 😊
