"Shut the door! Do you know how much it costs to heat this place?" is just about the most Dad comment I've ever heard. Congrats from a fellow Iowa Dad. Nice reaction. This is an underrated Cameron movie.
Oh I loved it
Your laugh is infectious. The fact this is a action movie that has just as much comedy is what makes this one great.
I believe the part where Jamie Lee Curtis is dancing & fell was genuine. The look of concern on Arnold’s face was real & he started to get up to help her but she continued on with the scene and they kept it in. That’s the story anyway.
LOVE THAT!
Arni once said that he thought Jamie Lee Curtis was the most beautiful woman in Hollywood and that he would like to make a film with her. That's how she got the role in True Lies. Google Translator
It’s one of the best parts of the whole movie!
@The Yorkshireman Reacts
I'm German and my English is very bad.
So I don't know if the translations are good or bad.
The translation was great. Some people just aren't 'cultured' enough to put two and two together 😂
My favorite Arnold movie. Perfect blend of action and comedy.
I was a teenager when this came out and I saw it in the theater. I loved it so much that as soon as the movie was done, I went out to the box office and bought another ticket to the next showing and watched it again. The only other movie I ever did that for was The Fifth Element.
I loved The 5th Element
"A fish called Wanda" - cult classic, great comedy with Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline. A must watch!
I’m not sure if you are aware, but Arnold and Sylvester Stallone have always been seen as the rival action hero movie stars of their age. They are actually great friends, but they love taking digs at each other in their movies. The comment about “I married Rambo” is a direct reference to this, since Rambo is Stallone’s role, the way the Terminator is Arnold’s. I mention this for when you watch anything that has one of these two guys in it.
Or both of them. The Expendables series would be a great reaction. Just the cast in that movie series is amazing.
I think the reference to Arnold in Stallones Demolition Man was the best though, Schwarzenegger Presidential Library. He hadn’t even been the governor of CA when it was made.
I remember that when this movie came out, people were kind of wondering if Arnold still had it. I guess there was a film or two that underperformed at the box office and so this was treated as a return to form for him. Although, i only remember one movie flopping, and it was one of my faves, "last action hero" which had unfortunate timing really, being released the same summer as Jurassic park..
This reaction was the description of contagious laughter 🤣🤣🤣
An off the wall Jamie Lee Curtis movie I think you’d like is “A Fish Called Wanda”. Hopefully that’s the last comment. I keep remembering things after I post-I’m old 😅
Eye-patch Boss is Charlton Heston! That's a rabbithole of movies all by himself.
Def not a realistic movie but so much fun! If you like this you’ll love the movie “Twins” it’s with Arnold and Danny Devito an amazing comedic actor!
Tia Carrere (Ka-Rare-Ah)
A gorgeous beauty of the 90's. To see her comedic chops - Wayne's World 1 & 2
From IMDB about Tom Arnold: When Harry tells Gib that Helen is having an affair, Gib tells a story about his second wife taking everything when she left him, even the ice cube trays from the freezer. This is a direct reference to Tom Arnold's divorce from Roseanne Barr that was happening at the same time - she was reported to have taken his ice cube trays when she left him as well. Arnold told the story to James Cameron on the set while saying: "What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?" Cameron thought the line was hilarious, and incorporated it into the film.
OMG I love this
That's my family's favorite line in the movie. Lol
I love this movie! Mr. and Mrs. Smith is another great action/comedy.
I think we all knew this one was right up your alley 😂👍 If you want some more Funny/actiony Arnold movies, I'd recommend:
- *The last Action Hero* (1993)
- *Kindergarten Cop* (1990)
- *Twins* (1988)
Thanks, I've added all these to my list. It's appreciated
And as much as I would personally like to see a reaction to Last Action Hero...it has always been one of my favorite films by director McTiernan...you should probably see at least the first one of the Rambo films before you see Last Action Hero. 💯💯✌✌
One of my guilty pleasures with him is Jingle All the Way. It's not a great film, but Arnold doing a Christmas movie is kind of the joke.

This was at the comeback days of Arnold going back into blockbuster action films like this and Eraser, and Last Action Hero.
One of my all-time favorites! It's such a fun movie full of wonderful ridiculousness. Great reaction.
Jamie Lee Curtis was always known as "The Body" back in the day. Gotta check her out in Trading Places.
You don’t get cast in a movie called Perfect without having an amazing body. Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta, definitely worth the title.
I remember when this movie came out, there was very little marketing. I just remember the minimal poster, and went to see it. Such a great surprise, even now. Holds up
so good
Toms role in this movie was so AWESOME! Arnold steals the show but the comedy comes from Tom! Nice reaction! Go HAWKS!
Totally agree, and i remember that after this movie i began watching the best damn sports show, simply because Tom Arnold was on it...
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m dying over here watching how much this movie tickles you! So glad you’re getting to see these gems! This one is one of my faves!
Tom Arnold absolutely made this movie for me. I never thought much of him before this but I really wanted to see more of him after. I had no idea his comedy was so on point.
Actually, Tom Arnold’s story about the ex that took the ice cube trays from the freezer, that’s a true story about his split from a notorious actress. I believe it was James Cameron he told the story to, he liked it so much they put it in the movie. It’s funny, Tom Arnold hadn’t even been considered for the role but met Camron and Schwarzenegger. Camron noticed an immediate chemistry between Tom and Arnold so he was cast.
I absolutely love when you laugh.. so genuine and contagious! Your reactions make me laugh so much also! Love this reaction!
Thanks for watching
Jamie Lee Curtis did the helicopter stunt herself, which is crazy & amazing!
I would have wanted to, wouldn't you?
And they filmed that scene on Jamie’s 35th birthday I believe it was! This movie ranks extremely high for me for a guaranteed good time every time you watch it. 😂 another would be The Fifth Element! 🎉😂
She wanted to do the stunt - I think for her fortieth birthday. What a fricken ROCKSTAR.
@@AwesomeUSMovies Nooooo😂 As someone who is terrified of falling from great heights I would be terrified to hang from a flying helicopter.
Also perfectly safe. She was worth millions.
I love this movie and after many years of seeing it repeatedly, I had never noticed the the easter egg in the movie. Harry works for an organization called “Omega Sector” Their motto is The Last Line of Defense. Charleston Heston is the Boss (cool looking guy with eyepatch) for Omega Sector. In 1971, Heston, starred in a movie called The Omega Man. The Omega Man movie was remade and renamed in 2007 as I Am Legend starring Will Smith.
This movie was my moms favorite, we watched it together dozens of times and always laughed together. I’m stoked to see you enjoy it the same way i do!
6:11 No rubber dogs were harmed in the making of this film.
The laughs keep on coming with this movie. It’s so great!
Oh this'll be fun. Already laughing at complaining about leaving the doors open and the heating bill.
Perfect pronunciations. 👍 Eliza's best known for Faith on Buffy the vampire slayer and a couple horror films. Tia stared in Wayns Wold, the spin-off film from the Saturday night live skit. Definitely worth a watch.
Eliza was also in the series Dollhouse about young beautiful spies. Tia was in a series called Relic Hunter, a generic knock-off Tomb Raider.
Thanks for the info!
She (Eliza) was also in the TV show Tru Calling.
To me, Eliza is best known for *Bring It On* with Kirsten Dunst, not that I have a thing for high school cheerleaders (not that I don't).
This movie is one of my guilty pleasures. Love it.
Just saw the thumbnail and thought it's awesome you used part of the poster I helped commission for the film! 😃
I love how this movie is so improbable and yet enjoyable, and the one improbability you pointed out was the horse in the elevator, one I had never even considered! By the way, I love your reactions they are so genuine!
Great reaction, your laughter had me rolling!!!
I'm glad!
One of the best action movies and also comedy gold. Great one two punch.
Now that Christmas is approaching, I recommend a very funny Christmas comedy with Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen, 'Christmas with the Kranks' (2004)
Hi James. The guy in the elevator was a huge stunt man.
I've always loved this movie. Jamie Lee Curtis is an incredible actor and all the casting was brilliant.
The first sequence, at Lake Chapeau, was a hilarious send-up of James Bond movies, and it just keeps getting funnier from there. They not only found a way to get a horse into an elevator, it was a *glass* elevator going up the outside of a tall building! And then of *course* the horse refuses to leap off the edge of the building, because horses have horse sense, unlike Harry. And except for the final scenes, with "Boris and Doris" on the job, tying up loose ends, the entire movie was a set-up for that *one* line: "You're fired."
Virtually every scene in this movie was funny, and that is no small accomplishment.
If you want an even less plausible scenario, watch Last Action Hero. Another great Arnold's movie ;)
Arnold played a pregnant man in a movie called Junior in 1994. Tom does well for himself still. This was a fun movie I saw it when I was younger on TV.
I forgot how much fun this movie was - just great. It was really cool in the theater.
It was very fun
It’s funny they mention Rambo which is played by Silvester Stallone. Stallone and Arnold have had a friendly rivalry since the start of their careers.
Loved your reaction! I have three suggestions for you; "Oscar" - a comedy with Sylvester Stallone and an all star cast, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" - a 1950s science fiction classic with Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal, and "Mission Impossible" - the original 1960s espionage TV show which inspired Tom Cruise's movies.
Actually, most full-grown horses weigh between 900-1200 lbs. The typical elevator weight capacity is 2100-5000 lbs. That would work.
One o the funniest action comedy films I've ever seen!
There were talks of a Sequel but it was cancelled due to the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
However it's been confirmed that a TV series based on the movie is in development.
That's the best news I heard all day!!
Not based on a book, but most people don't realize that it was a remake of a French film (La Totale!) that came out a year or two earlier. But of course... Cameron made it his own thing.
I don't think the elevator would have any problem with the horse. The max capacity listed is usually between one fifth to one half of what the elevator can actually lift without breaking... just erring on the side of safety to avoid liability. Of course some other parts of the movie are ridiculous but, still fun.
Many elevators have a weight limit of 3500 pounds and your largest of horses (draft horses) are around 1800. It's plausible a thoroughbred like he was riding would be ok. Fitting it in there is another story! A hotel like that maybe. Otherwise, yeah they definitely stretch suspension of disbelief here lol! It's just fun.
The Rambo comets are a running theme in Swartzenigger films. They had a friendly rivals back in the day.
1994, when 90% of everything in an action movie was shot for real. I'm sure there's some CG here and there in this, but James Cameron was famous for shooting things for real. Terminator 2 used groundbreaking CG for its time, but it was blended with practical effects and the stunts in both this and T2 are pretty mind-blowing and hold up even today because some much of it was shot for real. You know you're not looking at something that looks like a Nintendo 64 game. And I find that unlike some of James Cameron's work in the 80s, even the jokes hold up pretty well. I remember seeing this for the first time in the mid 90s on the Q13 Fox Network (as opposed to Fox News), which I got in Canada as a kid and I was blown away. In many ways, a lot of the action scenes in the Dark Knight trilogy remind me a lot of Cameron's work because so much of it was shot for real. Obviously, movies are made to make money when they come out, but it's nice when a director cares about how his or her movie will hold up over time. Some movies are dated in the right ways and timeless in all the right ways. This is that kind of movie.
Just have to tell you that you brighten my day with your reactions! Love watching you enjoy the movies I have cherished!
Wow, thanks Bruce, thanks for watching them
Glad you had such a good time with this movie! It's a classic!
Been to Taiwan myself and my sister toured Mainland China. First thing I have to mention is that traffic laws are viewed as merely suggestions.
The kids (middle school age and up) are free range kids. The classes they take are early to late with healthy breaks in between. Mom&pop shops are all over. At least in Taiwan.
I'm quite close to San Fracisco Chinatown and even closer to Oakland Chinatown. San Fran is touristy-er and Oakland is more neighborhoodier. San Francisco has a 2nd unofficial chinatown just north of Golden Gate Park. I barely remember the Chinatown in Houston.
I'm going to S.F. Chinatown soon myself for a daily calendar I'm fairly certain I can't get anywhere else. Whatever Grandma wants, Grandma gets.
True Lies is one of my favorite Schwarzenegger films. I agree that it's a lot of fun from beginning till the end! He has a lot of good movies which I watch again and again especially when the holidays are long. Among them includes the underrated ones like The 6th Day, Eraser, End of Days, and Escape Plan with Stallone.
Thanks, I've added all these to my list. It's appreciated
@@AwesomeUSMovies that's great! Thanks too! 😊

*yard work
Comedy gold
FYI The horse that was used looks to be a thoroughbred or an American quarter but anyways the average weight for a horse of that breed is 450 to 500 Kg's /992 to 1102 Pounds Definitely not 2,000 For a horse to be even close to that weight would either be a Clydesdale or something similar
I am a mason and I work in construction. Sometimes I build elevator shaft so I’ve had conversations with the elevator guys.. elevators can lift more weight than people realize the average elevator lifts 2500 pounds to 5000 pounds however some passenger elevators list up to 10,000 pounds. So if the horse weighed about 2000 pounds like you said, and Arnold weighed about 300 and the man and woman combined weight 400 that’s only 2700 pounds so it would be possible for an elevator to lift it. Hope the construction knowledge helps lol.
When I saw this in the theater for the first time, I saw Tom Arnold (then Roseanne) in the opening credits and did a "oh no". I was so wrong. He is fantastic.
Tom was great!
Tom Arnold is such an under rated comedic actor. Roseanne may have added to his fame, but she killed his career.
The voice of the helicopter pilot who went "yahoo" was James Cameron himself.
Your reaction is so much fun. I really enjoyed myself. Outstanding job.
Glad you enjoyed it
Rambo is a surprisingly thoughtful movie. You might want to give it a try.
If man can think it, it is considered plausable. Anyways, great reaction. Ballroom scene filmed at Rosecliff mansion in Newport RI. My cousin got lucky and was an extra in the tango scene. And yes, Rambo First Blood is amazing as is most of Sylvester Stallone's movies. Both he and Arnold ruled the action film industry for years. The big argument is who is the best. Stallone wrote; directed and acted in many of his films however they both are incredible. Cannot wait for you to get into the Rambo films!
I like that the frame of reference for Tom Arnold is his history of ridiculous real estate investments.
What makes the whole "I married Rambo" line funny, is that in the 80's Arnold and Stallone were rivals w/ the whole action genre, they did not get along at all back then. What's also funny is Stallone did a movie where, someone says, "he thinks he's Rambo (which he is) and Stallone says, Rambo's a Pu***). There's a few films where both of them kinda "pick" at Rambo. Although, I highly recommend you watch at least the first Rambo, called First Blood. Very good film, really dives into the whole PTSD of a soldier in Rambo's case from Vietnam. And how people didn't understand "flashbacks or PTSD".
Oh that is super interesting, thanks for the info.
The China town in LA most do not give out Fortune cookies, but oranges which is traditional in China.
Great movie. Jaime Lee Curtis, her first movie was 1978’s HALLOWEEN daughter of Janet Lee (Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho). And Tony Curtis two of Hollywood’s Classic Movie Stars✨ My ex worked with her in a movie with Sigourney Weaver and Betty White🤩👍 Jamie Lee Curtis down to earth person in real life love her.
Back in the day Rambo played by Sylvester Stallone and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger we’re basically rivals.💙👍🤩See ya at the movies
Awesome reaction! This is a fabulous and fun movie. I love reactors who appreciate the movies they are watching. Keep it up, Sir!
Thank you so much for watching, I hope you get a chance to watch some of my other comedy reactions.
If you're going to watch the Rambo movies, you should be aware that the first Rambo movie isn't actually titled Rambo.
The original Rambo film is titled:
'First Blood' (1982).
Thanks, helpful
Lol at extra pocket since their clothing typically doesn't even have pockets
The elevator can lift a horse.
They come in different sizes, there are elevators out that can lift 2tons or 2.5 tons.
2000 pound horse will still leave room for 2000 pound in people.
If this specific one couild do it we don't know but it is not impossible in general.
Common sizes here in Europe are: 320 kg, 450 kg, 630 kg, 1.000 kg, 1.275 kg, 1.600 kg, 1.800 kg, 2.000 kg and 2.500 kg
1600 kg (3527 lbs) would be enough for a horse and 4 people.
Not impossible... in probably... plus... HUGE horse, small elevator.
HERE is FUN. Go to 09:58, and few more frames at later times too. The older gentleman on the toilet: our host in 40 years ;) :D . Great videos @Awesome US Movies . Keep the good work :)
Thanks
One of my favorite movies ever and after Terminator my favorite Arnold movie!
One of the jokes of the time, when Jamie Lee Curtis said "I married Rambo" ... when this movie was made, Sylvester Stallone's and Arnold's movies were competition with each other ... and, at the time, Sylvester and Arnold didn't like each other ... calling him Rambo was making fun of their friction.
Oh that is super interesting, thanks for the info.
Not sure if someone else mentioned this. But Jamie Lee Curtis actually did that helicopter stunt. It was her Birthday as well. Fun Fact!
I'd want to do it
Watch Eraser. That's another Arnie action movie. Has crocodiles in it.
I freakin love this guy. Always makes me smile😅
So happy to hear it That was a REALLY good one... Holy Moly.. when she fell off that bed post... too funny.
In The Terminator, when Arnold was walking naked, Bill Paxton was the blue-haired punk. So that’s another James Cameron movie with Bill Paxton in it.
Interesting
Truly a masterwork of action comedy unlike any other. also you gotta check out Rambo and most of Slys movies too.
23:25 "Victoria's Secret Compartment", as TVTropes puts it.
21:17. It’s so fun watching movies with you.
Hi Patrick thank you so much for watching
Yes, you definitely need to react to the Rambo series starting with First Blood!!
China town in Philly was great. Used to go downtown and buy nunchucks and throwing stars there when I was a kid.
ohhh, that does sound like fun.
Hello there, yes it's me again. Your enjoyment of this movie has made my day. Thanks😁
Glad you enjoyed it
Knew you'd love this one. Such a fun watch and a great reaction. If you haven't seen Eraser yet (Arnold, James Can and Vanessa Williams) I think you'd like it. Spy-ish, still some great humour but a bit more action/serious.
I literally was about to suggest 'Leon the professional' then realized you only watch US movies. (or at least only react to) Such a shame, I'd have loved to see you react to it. One of my all time favourites . Love your reactions anyway.
if that ice on the road is dry ice i have heard tires squil on it
lol! The leaf blower!
Jamie Lee Curtis is best known for Halloween (1978).
Bill paxton the best RIP, anyone out that hasn't seen Club Dread...it is pure gold paxton was beyond hilarious 😁😂
Hopefully you'll watch more Jamie Lee Curtis. My favorite role of hers is A Fish Called Wanda (1988).
I knew you would enjoy this one!!!! 😃
i can't believe that they never did a sequel.
Arnold Schwarzenegger movies just hit different nowadays just love rewatching it with you .
This is classic Arnold. :) You should put Twins on your list - another great Arnold film and a comedy
Added
Hi James! This is my 2nd fave of Arnold’s. Predator is my #1
Great reaction!!!
Shocking about the Barr/Arnold property 😮
Eliza Dushku ended up as a returning character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
OMG! You have to watch all the Rambo movies!
Glad you enjoyed it
Bunch of glorious one-liners
Loved this one... soooo funny.
Been to two Chinatowns. Very nice. nice food, and in the other, very nice colorful clothes (even if you DO have to get size XXXXL to fit an american adult who usually wears XL.)
Completely unrelated but I would LOVE to see your reaction to these classic movies: “Cry Baby” (1990) - a quirky John Waters musical comedy with a young Johnny Depp, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, and Iggy Pop. Names you likely don’t recognize yet - but worth looking into. “War Games” (1983) with a young Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller) and Ally Sheedy (Breakfast Club) getting into mischief with early personal computers, nearly starting WWIII. And “Risky Business” (1983) with a young Tom Cruise as a high school student who gets into mischief when his parents leave town, leaving him to find a creative way to make money. A great soundtrack with this one.
2 great films to watch are 2011's Sucker Punch (action film) and 2006's Silent Hill (horror film)
