Just a heads up... you can now use ur eco dot or any alexa product with sonos... create a group name and tell miss A to play music in that group and bam..... glad they did...
Hi. I own the sonos one. Personally I dont use it with alexa because I like to do flash briefing and routines and drop in on all my devices. I use an Echo Dot that plays out of Sonos instead

The echo dot do a great job if you already have decent speakers and don’t need to invest extra money for them :)
November 2017, got the Playbar. Two months later added the Sonos One for another room. Would like more info on how much better the room with the Playbar would sound with two Sonos Ones. Received an email from Sonos for 20% off buying direct from Sonos. I really like being able to control the Sonos with any smartphone and IPad. Dropped my pay music subscriptions. Never knew so much was available for free. Like using the Dot to control my Playbar. Using Alexa to control the Sonos is fine to play Amazon music, but very limiting for anything else. Use the IPad or IPhone to call up all my stations. An old IPhone 5s also works great.

OMG!!! I didn't know you had Sonos! I got the Sonos soundbar and Sub just over 1 year ago with 2 play 1s and have not looked back! You actually inspired me to buy my house so I can fill it with LIFX.. I've been watching your LIFX stuff for awhile now but had no idea you got the Sonos too! :D

I don’t plan on loving the HomePod. Sometimes things surprise me tho. I have too many audio devices it just doesn’t seem to fit into my home. If they had say, a $100 or $200 option to setup multi room and or surround sound with the Apple TV, I’d say it’s gonna be a keeper!

Yeah I am not sold on it yet, especially without it being fully functional at launch. Having tiered options would seal the deal for me to expand within the ecosystem, but to replace my 5 echo dots?! Too pricey right now. But can’t wait to see your assessment.

Did you say that you could get 2 Play : 1s for $200? I have a few echo devices but find the sound quality of the Sonos I own to be superior. I'd like to add to the Sonos system I have.
Not sure if I accidentally said that, but right now Play1’s are going for $149 new $120-ish open box. I bought one off Facebook yard sales for $75 tho

Just curious why did you get the Playbar and not the Playbase? since the bar isn't wall mounted
This is only a temp setup. I just moved, recently. I don’t like the look of the playbase and I came from a Bose Solo 15 which say under my tv....wanted something different. Also the
hokeynding I also got the Playbar not wall mounted. My TV is wall mounted so the Playbase made no sense for me. The Playbar has a very clean look on top of my entertainment center. To summarize. Wanted a wall mounted TV. Makes the room seem bigger. Easier to move entertainment center. Wanted the clean look of the Playbar. I don’t think the Playbase looks attractive. Also, for safety, today’s TV s often have stands with the legs extending to the very end. Won’t fit on Playbase.
Whilst this is an excellent speaker, after 5 months of use, I really think the Alexa integration is a let down. Rather than having Amazon’s Alexa, it has Sonos’ interpretation, which I think is very poor. There are still an awful lot of Alexa commands that do not work. Had I known then, what I know now, when I purchased my Sonos One, I would probably have bought something else instead. Something that has either Aux or Bluetooth, then added an Echo Dot.
All 3rd party speakers are limited by Amazon, not a Sonos issue. It’s the same with my UE MegaBoom. More is slowly added though, hopefully with time they will be closer to the same.
Alexa is trash on SONOS. it is really useless
Larry Richelli, quite agree. The longer I have it, the less I like it. I am seriously considering ditching it for Sonos Play 1 and an Echo Input.

Agree, Almost two years with me and Sonos One. Alexa is still super glitchy. You would think by now the kinks would be worked out.

No, returned. I’m too happy with Sonos. HP requires Apple Music and it just couldn’t justify it at this time. If upgrades to the software and or you love Apple Music it’s a great option (just doesn’t work for me)
Sonos One is great, but it's not perfect:
* It doesn't have a line-in port. There is no way to connect it to your computer (this will get better with the release of AirPlay 2 support).
* The Alexa integration is a little clunky on it (e.g. Alexa alarms are independent of the ones you define in Sonos App; Alexa randomly stops responding after a few days of flawless work... I have to reset Voice Assitant configuration every so often to fix it).
Oh yes, it’s far from perfect. Even The first Echo was severely limited at launch. It can only get better with updates

Huh? I don’t fully understand what you mean. I need them if I want to share on my channel. Do I NEED them in my life you mean? No one needs anything tech I guess, if you are getting to that level. I have Sonos setup so I wanted to add these so I can eventually get speakers in every room. I make money off these videos, this is my job and I will earn every cent I spend back and then some, so there is that too

Works only on 2,4 ghz networks (The more crowded), often disconects, delay between left and righ when stereo paired. Poor service (45 minutes on the phone and NO solutions). I do not recommend.
Something wrong with yours? I have no delay in a pair or setup in surround!
I dont know, and Sonos did not find any solution. Changed for 2 Yamaha w010 with musicast, worked right out of the box with great sound and no delay whatsoever.
Set my Sonos one off at least 25 times saying Alexa so much.

Sonos is nice but they pretty much behind when it come to smart speaker. Amazon might acquire them soon.
Michael Nguyen that’s because Sonos is about great sound quality and home connection, no gimmicky voice control. Sonos speakers sound much better than any crappy amazon speaker.
Sonos new speaker tho has Alexa and also has apples Siri in it. So they are no longer behind.
