Lee, people like you have completely turned me around when it comes to City’s charges. I bought into all the propaganda and thought ‘yea all of a sudden they’re mad good, must’ve been below board.’ But between you, a few other channels, and actually looking into it myself, at best they were a bit ‘shady’ in an already shoddy sytem.

Thank you for actually researching the charges. Every time I've been in a debate about these charges I've tried to tell it as it is. But people think we're waffling or just talking banter. It's quite frustrating trying to explain something to someone who just think you're arguing with them for the sake of it. So I've stopped.

From what I’ve seen, maybe there was something with the recruitment, but honestly I reckon every club has been/still is guilty of that, and sure the sponsorship value, at the time, certainly not now, ‘don’t make sense/coming from the same ownership group or whatever is shady’ but unless there are specific rules on sponsorship size relative to xyz, or sponsorship origin then the epl really doesn’t have a leg to stand on there.
At the end of the day the whole structure of the epl, and all the football leagues for that matter, was fairly uncompetitive before ffp and now ffp has made it even more so.
