Another great effort. I know you don't use putty in these kit-bashes in order to keep it as simple as possible to replicate for both beginners and veterans; the only things I'd change would be where the cloak didn't quite meet up (as you mentioned you cut too much away) and cut his sword sheath in half between the two rivets to extend it so it would touch the ground.

Unfortunately so. Cato Sicarious does not need another ego boost by becoming a Primaris.

I wasnt sold on the conversion since that sword looks comically small on a primaris marine, but the paint scheme brought it together and sold it for me
This makes me wish that the Iron Hands had a old character to make a kitbash version of it. Love the video either way

Looks great can we plz get a vulkan primaris conversion i had an idea to do it myself but never did was use a gravis cpt and just replace the bolter with a flamer and then switch the blade arm and helm then add like a robe in the front
I love this conversion! May I suggest a challenge? A conversion of something Tau related? Perhaps making a cadre fireblade from the scratch or a commander with onager gauntlet or fusion blades? I find Tau aesthetics to be so different from everything else it’s really hard to find parts that would work for kitbashing.
Cool idea! Some Tau content would be a fun change.
Another great bash! The final result is stunning and has a lot of the energy of older 40k combined with the detail and scale of the new. If you're willing to take on finecast, I want to repeat my petition for Captain Lysander!
I reckon some of his finecast parts would work pretty well with some of the new "Heavy" Primaris kits we are getting.

Great conversion Pete, always thought the original was a bit too small. Sicarius truly looks like he's crossed the Rubricon now!
one Tool I'd recommend is a mini saw (same function just a tad smaller) or a jewelers saw (great control and good pathing, meaning you can literally cut around the arm with less waste) for precise sawing. The saw you used is good an all but it can obscure the sight behind the blade.
(Uspeed U-STAR UA-92600 model special mini hand saw) is one I would recommend and it is quite cheap.

I've done something similar to this for a primaris Pedro Kantor in Gravis armor using Tor Garadon as a base then adding parts and details of the finecast Pedro Kantor model along with the outstretched left arm of a primaris marine.
Turned out pretty good. I just need to come up with a cool design for his shoulder cape because right now it's just white and he just looks like he's going to the beach. Lol

My favourite model of all time was Sicarius with akimbo lightening fists. Gave mine a jump pack and let him rip. The days

Really liked this, would like to make my own. I'd probably have him helmeted and use one of the Ultramarine symbol Primaris helmets with the headdress attached.

PoppyAppletree so? If it looks good to you, do what you want! Primaries have used other helms before, (mark 3 and crusade) so it fits in with the lore

1:45 I would’ve resculpted the cloak on a spare primaris arm and add that beautiful arm to my bitz box personally, mostly because it seems less work that what you did

I did consider that but considering that the sword is sheathed, it's probably attached to his waist which means it doesn't need to be resting on anything. In fact, if the swords sheath did reach the ground, Cato would just be dragging it around whenever he walked 😂

Would love to see you do this with Helbrecht. Grimaldus and Emperor’s Champion are quite easy whilst I think Helbrecht will be a suitable challenge!

Judging by a conversion I've seen Marneus Kalgar himself is already a great base for a conversion into other characters, so even if you don't play Ultramarines, that still would be a good set to pick up

Id like to see you build the Flesh tearers old Chapter master in Term armor w/ the 2 chain fists & 2 storm bolters. is it just me or does this weapons load out seem a lil op? maybe im just comparing him to Calgars build lol
Funnily enough, I've see a few conversions for that chapter master using Calgars model as a base.
GW no longer sells the Marneus Calgar set w/ the Honor Guard to kitbash him with. I really wanted a scaled up Cato...

What hobby files do you use and what grit?
Not sure what grit they are but the files I used are from Army Painter
nice paint job but what color or colors of blue did you use ?? my U's look a might bit darker than yours, i use Macragge blue as the base
Macragge Blue Base > 50/50 Kantor Blue + Abaddon Black to the recesses > 50/50 Calgar Blue + Macragge Blue "thick" highlight > Calgar Blue highlight > Fenrisian Blue at the corners.

I haven't, but I would imagine that it would still require a degree of smoothing out with a knife or a file. Besides, I'd probably do too much damage with a soldering iron 😂

@@PeteTheWargamer I tried my own conversion with the indomitus chaplain - turned out OK but lost the cloak which made me quite sad - thinking of a 2nd attempt but ill use Kor'sarro Khan as my base model

GK are a bit trickier as their models are still in the smaller scale, first born marine size. Hopefully we will see some better proportioned kits at some point!
