- I've never been into chorus, a little flanger was always good, but having that phasing effect, just beautiful!
In this video I'm demonstrating my favorite modulation. You can use this pedal to cover most of David Gilmour's phaser and uni-vibe tones.

Gawd I love the tones you're getting! You really nail the vibe of those guitar parts. Well done.
This is so cool! Keep going man, you're doing great!
Continuous improvement on playing,
Perfect flow in content editing... gj!
This guy should be shared more with this quality and successful effort.
Wow, thank you!
perfect demo, this sold me on the phase, gotta have one
Man please post the complete cover of Any Colour You Like, the tone is perfect!
Outstanding channel for guitarists who are into PF, I bought my Cub 12R just because you have one ! Now Iâm trying to buy a RT-20 but itâs quite rare and expensive
This script CSP101 with led has the same board and components than the EVH and Block ones, so all of them produce an intense and mid frequency oriented tone. Consider to try the script CSP026 (without led) which has the same board as the original and if not the same, at least a more closer tone that is softer, transparent, and mid scooped.
Great sounds
How do you think a slight, sweeping, slow/wide rotary tone would fit in along with the phaser - to influence the modulation in Us & Them?
Thinking of getting the Boss ensemble that you use... it seems very versatile.
You mean Boss RT-20? You need one or the other, you can use Uni-Vibe to complement Leslie Simulator like Strymon Lex or RT-20 but phaser with RT-20 might be too much. A phaser and a chorus-y rotary... That's gonna sound so complex...
Though, you can only use a Uni-Vibe, only use a Leslie Simulator or only use a phaser, it's still gonna sound close, you don't need to mix anything in my opinion.
Sweet demo. If someone looking to simplify pedal setup and save some money.
They can create "better" models all they want, but this Script Phase remains the best. I ordered one of these phases and I'm waiting
Dude nailed it!!!!
Great tones! I have a question, what backing track are included in you patreon?
Bro, I don't wanna be disrespectful but, it's like, 5 bucks man... I'm not gonna list every single one here, what is this? Just click on the Patreon link and scroll down a little and you will see every post I share, tons of tone guides, rare backing tracks that I extract from original recordings and edit, tons of tabs that I personally make and each week something new (watch out Hendrix fans!)
Or don't, if you're just gonna get backing tracks and leave, just send me your e-mail and the backing track you request, if I'm legally able to share it (like the ones in the Patreon page), I'll send it to you. Again bro, no disrespect....
@@mustyguitar Nono, I want to support you through patreon, today I will subscribe, sorry if I offended.
@@bauca2335 oh cmon man now I feel bad, I didn't mean nothing... Now how am I supposed to accept this after my reply, even though i didn't mean disrespect....
Hi . whats the brand of the overdrive pedal that you are using? Thanks
Is there a way to use headphones with the amp you have ? Maybe using third party devices such as modelers
Well... I use a Uni Vibe pedal for Shine On and Have a Cigar. It is not the exact sound but it works fine for me.
What other pedals are you yousing with it..
Had the bad stone and I thought it was so annoying, it can only get Tame Impala sounds and everything else sounded really annoying, but this sounds really cool and versatile and I hope it can change my mind on Phaser
What drive are you using ?
Cool. I bought a phase 90 and the back plate removal was no problem. However there is a large piece of foam rubber in it attached to the electronics. The battery has no place this way even when the foam is removedđ
Yours only have battery? No 9v input? Thatâs actually the original version
@@mustyguitar Its the reissue and it has only a 9v battery.
Hi, how is the Mxr Phase 90 reissue? Is it enough or should I go for the original of 1974, it's very expensive :(
It's not the same, I would not use reissue...
Need a Leslie speaker
đđđđđ§đ·
sounding good, phaser before fuzz or after fuzz ?
I used to have my phaser after dirt pedals, with chorus and flanger, but then I placed it before the dirt pedal, guess what, I didn't even notice one bit.
though, ideally, you'd want to place phaser or uni-vibe BEFORE your dirt pedals but AFTER your pitch shifters and compressor. Some say it darkens a little to have phaser after the dirt but honestly, I don't hear it.
Amazing! Great sounds, I love listening to you đ
what do you think about mxr phase 95 (mini)?
I've tried, it doesn't got that magic, I don't know what it is but I can't seem to like that. Script logo version is the faithful 1974 version...
I have both. The bigger script logo version has a fuller sound, but I use the phase 95 mini on my smaller pedal board to save room and it will do just fine for live playing.
@@mustyguitar I bought Script LED version, sounds amazing! Thanks for help!!
Hi, please can you name the very very cheapest rotary pedal i can use for Dave Gilmour tones? I really dont have so much money right now.
for Gilmour type, I think the cheapest is RT-20 nonetheless. Or your free plug in on your DAW.
There are a lot of cheap rotary simulators but most of them are ripoffs of leslie, which is not ideal for Gilmour.
Best for a budget- Danelectro Money Laundry/Big Spender (same pedal, different names). Itâs more Leslie sounding, so itâs better for earlier stuff. It has a ramp switch to speed up or slow down, something you donât have most cheap rotary sims or effects that can mimic the effect. Nails that âAny Colour You Likeâ tone, and is great always on at slower settings for DSOTM- Animals era Floyd. You can still grab one used for under $100.
Other than that, and plug ins, itâs gunna be pricey. I have the same problem finding a Hiwatt IAB pedal; outside the Tech 21 Character series, thereâs not much out there, especially that works for Gilmour tones.
NUX Roctary is a nice budget option for Animals
I should add that for Animals/The Wall/ PULSE a good budget option is any clone of the Boss CE-2. There are plenty of them out there, and they confuse people by having a level control (the CE-2 only has âRateâ and Depthâ). Iâm a fan of the analog clones, but there are digitals that do pretty much the same thing. You just need to adjust your settings: Iâve found âDepthâ at 50-60% and a slow rate of about 25% do the trick for me. I think itâs as close as you can get on a tight budget to those Yamaha and Doppolas. I love the Leslie sound, itâs great for early Floyd (I love it for songs like âAny Colour You Likeâ, though they may have used a Univibe or some other studio effect for that song). Iâve found a decent Leslie sim adds a little something to to those DSOTM and earlier tones, just at lows settings (I think David used a Leslie, amongst other amps, but for most songs itâs lower in the mix). But, yeah, for those âAnimalsâ, âThe Wallâ and other tones, a CE-2 clone is the best bet for rotary sounds. I would love it if Boss reissues the RT-20 in a compact format, like the did with the Space Echo. Iâm sure thereâs enough interest in it to make Boss confident theyâd make a decent profit on it. Iâve yet to see a one of the RT-20, and it is probably the best pedal for Gilmourâs rotary sounds, but even used they can be pricey, especially if youâre on a budget or spent your pedal budget on a good PowerBoost clone or a real Tube Driver.

es tuga man?
I always thought he used a univibe for SOYCD ?
nope, not on the studio version.
@@mustyguitar Wow ! I'm surprised ! Always thought it was a Univibe with the speed dialed down . Thanks !
Did you put the phaser before or after the OD?
Phaser and uni vibe is always before dirt pedals on my board, but honestly it doesnât matter that much
love it, phaser is the one to get if you want one pedal to cover the darkside guitar modulation.
Have you tried playing breathe using an upstroke? DG appeared to do it this way at live 8 czcams.com/video/uPBYK72jLys/video.html
First chord I strum when I play Breathe is upstroke strum actually. It's not for Live 8 specifically, it's like this on original recording too.
Though, like I've said, Uni-Vibe is actually the accurate modulation for Dark Side tones. I'm just trying to replicate it.
Dark Side was realised in 1973, so itâs not Phaser but Uni-Vibe as said before.
@@laurentperez5229 i know, but if you read what I wrote, what I'm saying is if you want one pedal to cover the tones (not nail them) the phaser is it. I say this as someone who has a univibe (style) pedal and have a ra100 yamaha. czcams.com/video/zkXDBW8kqLk/video.html
@@mustyguitar so you did, it's only the last one that you down strum, sorry.
@@JR_Taylor Sorry, I thought it was a question, not an affirmation. Yes, it can cover the Dark Side but as I say, Phaser was used in 1974, it can nail the sound of Uni-Vibe without the throbe. And a RA-100 / 200 is a physical effect, the Phaser cannot reproduce this effect quite right. I say that as a user of Phase 90, UniVibe and RA-200 if itâs a proof of authority. Donât like this way to speak, as adult people, we are able to talk without showing off our stuff..
Wait! How can this be? I thought Roger was the "Genius" of Pink Floyd? Everything the other three did was irrelevant. According to Mr. Waters.
Haha typical of Roger. David and Richard blended on a magical level and Nick is a beast of a drummer. Listen to One of these days from pompeii 1971! Nick Mason performed an epic set and Any colour you like from Dark side of the moon will show you just how important the band members were regardless of what Roger says. Together they were easily my favourite band of all time.
@@bl00d_hound One Of These Days from the Pompeii film? That footage of Nick playing is incredible. And he loses a stick and grabs a new one without missing a beat.
Roger is a great songwriter and composer; David is one of the best guitarists, period; Nickâs drumming and Richardâs work on the keys are incredible. Itâs the mix of these 4 guys that made the band great. Take away any one of them, and the final result is lesser.
