honestly, i still think boosting the big muff sounds better for comfortably numb big muff: volume 11:00, sustain 12:00 tone 10:00 BD-2: volume 100 %, gain 0%, tone 3:00 it really smooths it out when playing the first solo i also like adding a mistress
Great video. EH Mistress is one of the must have pedal IMO, I've got the deluxe one and sounds great for The Wall Album, Animals, Time, Final Cut Album, Have a Cigar.
have you tried the dunlop ffm1 great silicon fuzz face. it's the same circuit from the 70's. not the jimi turquoise one. it's the one with more gain in the blue enclosure like the one gilmour had on live in pompeii and live dark side of the moon tours (as well as the slide solo on shine on). also does a good job at the studio tones of dark side, even though it uses BC 108 transistors, it sounds basically the same. most of the time he used one with BC108 transistors anyway, on dark side it was 109's though
I have three of the four Mustafa and you’re right. All I need now is the RT20 to replace the Vibe, Phase 90 and flange that I keep swapping in and out trying to get that rotary sound! hahaha
Great job. I own two RT-20 pedals so I'm thinking about creating another smaller pedalboard with like 5 pedals on it, by also adding a mini MXR mini dyna comp.
I'd suggest a univibe with a good range of speed from real slow to real fast with a vibrato mode as well as chorus mode instead of a rotary pedal since he does use univibe more often than people think and if it can go slow enough you can cover phaser parts as well as chorus and rotary tones but your still gonna need a good flanger for those parts there's really no way around that but say an electric mistress can cover chorus sounds also much better than a univibe would plus you need a wah pedal for some Gilmore tones breaking it down to I'd say ten pedals would get you probably everything you need aside from some crazy live sounds that he uses some super obscure stuff on but it's not considered definitive pink Floyd as they came in and out of the chain as a flavor of the week kinda thing
i can't get the dogs tone more specifically the first solo. the guitar has this subtle sound i can only describe as "ow" in the pick attack. im thinking it might be the rotary. i don't have a boss rt20 nor an actual yamaha. but idk. ive tried boosting the big muff, not boosting the big muff, lots of treble, lack of treble, pinch harmonics. nothing works. i can't get the "ow ow" tone.
@@mustyguitar yeah i figured but some people put them before to mimic that sound of tape delays plugged straight into an old overdriven amp, and it gives it a different effect

Amazing!! Fantastic sounds.. yeah I need that rotary pedal also!
Fantastic tones and great playing!
Love this channel.
Excellent ! I need that rotary pedal 👍

i think you might have the treble set too high on the drive. i usually set mine below 12:00 for shine on and it gets incredibly close
have you tried the dunlop ffm1

Timbres incríveis!!! Parabéns!

to be honest, I don't even use any other modulation when I got RT-20.
@@mustyguitar You ever use it as a Univibe like sound in Fast mode?
@@c1arkj nah, I used the fast mode a couple times for any colour you like.
please sell me one, i can't find those little bastards anywhere

Are you using a amp at all or direct to software via a interface?
Just wondering how you've set up your baseline tone.
Great playing!👍
I'm using a Laney Cub 12r
i can't get the dogs tone

Great Tone!! Good pick Attack!! What pick do you use?
I go between 0.88 or 1.00 mm dunlop.
I cant hear my guitar because the tones mix so well when i play with a backing track, help!
Thanks
wow, thank you Michael!
How would you replace the Boss RT 20? It's been hard to find for me :(
Great video! Thank you
Please tell me what amp to buy to get that sound.
Or is it straight through your computer?
I use Laney Cub 12r for this channel, because I do everything in my home, but on studio with friends or gigs, I use a 20w Laney Lionheart
@@mustyguitar thank you my friend.
Was going to buy a Fender Reverb Deluxe, but now I'll look at the Laneys
does the delay go before the big muff in time?
Delays always go after dirt pedals
@@mustyguitar yeah i figured but some people put them before to mimic that sound of tape delays plugged straight into an old overdriven amp, and it gives it a different effect
Hahaha check my Patreon page for the pedal settings
Or do it all with just one pedal, and pick up a used Zoom Multistomp for 60 bucks ;)
