There were so many split paths, but none had strawberries. Whatever I tried to do trying to look for them, I failed. It made my search feel empty, and I realized now was not the time for distractions. No time for empty gestures of competence. It made the chapter feel a lot more impactful.

    This game is so perfect.
After having that beautiful chat with Theo, you two fall asleep, and there's this dream about you flying up with the aurora borealis in the background. You think, finally, I'm getting over the personified insecurity that is Badeline. And then she throws you off. I felt devastated all my mountain climbing progress was just wasted like that, but I also thought about Badeline's words.
She was right. I was throwing her away, saying I didn't need her. But trying to throw away a _Part of You_ is useless.
While I thought about the plot, I also felt stunned by beauty walking through the crystal-filled fields of green grass and gorgeous lakes and cascades while THIS plays.

The chapter really is a chance for reflection. It allows you to think on the plot, on what just happened, and to realize what needs to be done. As you travel through the crystal catacombs, your reflection is all over the place, but the only one you need to see, is also the only one neither of you want to. You’ve deeply hurt Badeline, you’ve basically called her useless, and like she said, she can go deeper. Repairing your friendship won’t be easy, but it has to be done.

I think what sets this track apart is the percussion. Throughout this game, one of the things I've notcied is that the drums only kick in in parts of high stress (so the boss rushes.) They kick during the Badeline chase, and the Mr. Oshiro chase as well. But in this super mellow track, the percussion, although not consistent, is present from beginning to end. I think this signifies how Madeline must confront Badeline, there is no way around it.
I could be totally wrong about this though.

What I truly love about the song is how the energy builds throughout it, and how it reflects Madeline's mental state throughout the chapter. Instead of the song starting sad and becoming more and more happy and determined as it goes on, it almost sounds like it gets...angrier. Like Madeline starts out at rock bottom, the lowest point of her life, and gets more and more frustrated at herself, her circumstances, and her decisions. The music gets louder and louder as Madeline becomes angrier and angrier with herself. She gets more determined to right her wrongs near the end of the chapter, and the song reflects that by become more rhythmical and upbeat. It's a truly powerful piece of music and a perfect example of what makes Celeste's soundtrack so magical.

You did your best, but in the end, your dark side brought you crashing down, because you couldn't make peace with it. SaviourV I agree with that, it feels very sad and aimless. Even in the later parts of the song when it gets more intense and exciting, the main melody makes it feel halfhearted. Really does a great job of summing up the whole situation.

Endercraft Inc. Indeed it does. I mean, if you were to apply this part of the story to Life, you'd feel absolutely down if your inner demons sabotage you when you're close to victory.
But, as my Dad said, when I discussed this game with him, the important thing is to confront your fears and rise again after each setback.
Truthfully, thanks to the music and the storytelling, Celeste explains a bit about real life, in a way. Rarely has a game appealed to me like this before, and I enjoy it immensely, challenges and all.
It's worth a few lessons on Life, indeed.

Time hitting the Kevin block while it's mouth is in the water, it makes a gargling noise and it's hilarious

I just noticed this recently but starting from 2:09, you can hear a part of the Badeline Chase theme from chapter 2.
Which is interesting since when you're listening to this theme, you're the one chasing after her.

This is a great song to play when you're up late, thinking about things that could be.

I have completed Celeste fully (except golden strawberries) and both the ost and gameplay amazed me a lot that I cannot stop playing this game because of how fascinating it is.
