Thanks, JM - Brian wrote this.. he and Roger were the "rockers" -- there is also a live version, but I really like the original (this one) best! Brian created this incredible "delay"... Unfortunately the best live version of this song wasn't filmed. But you have to react to it. Queen - Brighton Rock from Live Killers. It's a must.
Very few can stand next to Freddie Mercury for vocal performance. Queen is one of those bands that stand alone with a unique sound, Brian May on Guitar is in the Top Ten Greatest in my opinion.
You are doing some of "Rock Royalty" with Queen, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Supertramp and others. Soon I'd like to have you do my 3rd favorite live band.... KANSAS (seen them 4 times) My Favorite Drummer Phil Ehart, and you'll see why. Do the studio album first, then you will want to see them done live.... "Carry On Wayward Son"---- "Dust In The Wind"---- "Magnum Opus" off the Leftoverture album. Make sure you're Strapped In Tight.
Lyrically this is the best Queen song.
Thanks for your reaction. You can never go wrong with a Queen song. I have a couple of Queen songs if I may suggest; Spread Your Wings, Keep Yourself Alive, White Queen. Also songs later in their career; I'm Going Slightly Mad, It's a Miracle and These Are The Days of Our Lives (which I believe is his last recorded video -- it's like he's saying good bye.) This is a masterpiece penned by Brian. Yes, it is a guitar fest to be sure . There are some live versions of this song and also Brian solo. The album version is a good version also.
IMO, this was one of, if not the, best solos by Brian.

'I do like to be beside the seaside' can be heard being whistled at the start of the song, the same song that can be heard at the end of the Seven seas of rhye, the last song on the previous album.
The whole Sheer Heart Attack album is brilliant. Queen's 3rd and the one where you can really hear the Queen sound come together...
